Week 3 - Pre-summer Low Carb Bootcamp - the choice is yours!

Morning all. Sorry for the later than usual thread, but I'm away at the moment/1

Anyway, here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

As we've now completed the first two, more strict, weeks of Bootcamp you have a choice. You can move on to Bootcamp Light, (rules are on the spreadsheet tabs), which essentially means you can add in a few nuts/seeds, and some fruit (berries, and strictly in moderation), and you can have alcohol occasionally.

However, if you haven't really done Bootcamp strictly enough, or you cheated, or just because you think it's going well, you can stay on Bootcamp. (If you do, though, please make sure your carbs are mainly coming from vegetables and salad, to make sure that you're getting a good balance of nutrition)

Alternatively, you can do Bootcamp during the week but Bootcamp Light at the weekend. The choice is yours.

However, there is one thing I have to warn you about. Weeks 3 and 4 are notorious for little or no weight loss. If this happens to you, please don't panic! Just keep on keeping on and things will start to move again.

After initial big losses in the first couple of weeks, you can't feasibly expect to see that continue, and you should that weight loss settles down at around 1-3lbs a week, depending on how much you have to lose.

Good luck all! Flowers

regular

I'm the same. Breakfast is pretty much out for me now, i tend to have a coffee with coconut oil. Dinner can be a bit of a struggle, but i try to make myself have something not too heavy.

Lunch is a different story. I devour it and enjoy every mouthful.

NotdeadyetBOING · 01/06/2016 13:02

Quite fancy that, MaryT, but don't have a spiraliser (even though I seem to have pretty much every other item of kitchen equipment available). The konjac noodles are fine, tho, taste wise. Was surprised.

regularbutpanickingabit · 01/06/2016 13:18

Wintersea- yes, I guess I could also only add a dash instead of s tablespoon. Think I might be slipping in to the obsessive!
Wan - haven't seen that. Will investigate
Clopy - the enjoying every mouthful is the best bonus out of this woe. It's really making me choose properly tasty food and that's making such a difference

ReggaeShark · 01/06/2016 13:33

I like shredded white cabbage instead of pasta as well Boing. Not as watery as courgette and I'm too chicken to try those noodles.

MaryThorne · 01/06/2016 13:38

Notdead, I don't either, I just buy the Tesco/M&S ready made ones Grin

Imelda91 · 01/06/2016 13:48

I stopped the mini pill 2 weeks ago due to weight gain. Had the mirena coil fitted last week and my weight is up 2 pounds this week.
I hope I haven't done the wrong thing

Anyway I will keep on - could someone please enter my weight at 142
On the spreadsheet for 30th may weigh in.

SoMuchToBits · 01/06/2016 13:48

Well, yippee I weighed myself this morning and have lost 1lb, so will update spreadsheet. Apart from the wine, I did stick to LC food while I was away, so I'm reasonably happy with that.

Think I will stick to BC proper most of the time, rather than BC lite, as I'm not losing very quickly. I'm not finding it hard to stick to, so might as well.

Walks in sheepishly
Hello everyone. Well I haven't been taking part, my home life is a bit crap at the moment. I've had some horrible health worries as well. I haven't been able to get my head into the right frame of mind, until today!
I'm going to a wedding at the end of the month, my boyfriend is best man and I want to look the best I possibly can!
I know low carb works, I've done it many times but my head needs to be in the right place which when I'm going through a shit time it isn't as i binge on carbs to make me feel better.
So far today I've been good, apart from a polo Smile

FaithAscending · 01/06/2016 14:38

Checking in. Finally worked out how to put my weight in on the chart!

I'm debating getting a spiraliser now. We've really taken to this WOE (DH is doing it too) so I think it would be worth it.

Lamb shanks in the slow cooker for dinner. Went out for lunch and had a chicken salad :)

BursarsFrogs · 01/06/2016 14:42

I feel I could eat and eat and eat today! Something about all those strawberries yesterday really triggered my binge urges and I keep wanting to just shove stuff in my face now. I've been sticking to low carb, and decidedly not counted any calories!

Today's foods:

B: Two eggs and mushrooms fried in butter. Small bowl of FF Total.
L: Brussels pate on cucumber slices. Bowl of salad veggies with olive oil. Olives and a large chunk of cheese.
S: Very creamy matcha tea and one square of 90% chocolate.
D: Pork belly slices and buttery broccoli and asparagus.

Very possibly some more cheese will snacked on.

Pengweng · 01/06/2016 14:51

My mum is driving me bonkers! She also appears to not be vegan as has eaten nearly all my cheese!!!!

Anyway. No breakfast, lunch was chicken thighs with garlic mayo and dinner is roasted aubergine with mozzarella and i will have chicken too.

dataandspot · 01/06/2016 15:54

Thankyou BIWI.

NotdeadyetBOING · 01/06/2016 16:20

Oooo - ready made courgetti. Didn't know it existed. Thank you MaryT!

MaryThorne · 01/06/2016 16:30

WanHeda · 01/06/2016 17:32

I just made cabonara with pre-made courgetti, delicious!

boldlygoingsomewhere · 01/06/2016 17:47

Just had a delicious dinner of sea bass fillets with pak choi and mushrooms in a mascarpone sauce. From prep to plate in 20 mins- perfect mid week meal!

3perfectweemen · 01/06/2016 18:13

You're from Monday I have lost 1.6lb Grin I know I shouldn't daily weigh myself but I can't resist. So happy considering I have stalled for few weeks. 9lb to my goal weight. 9St9lb now was 11st7lb 10 weeks ago Halo

wombattoo · 01/06/2016 18:17

momof and Imelda I have entered your weights on the ss.

I weighed this morning and have gained 2.5 pounds. It was as expected as I had a shocking non lc weekend Blush

Back on today.

NotdeadyetBOING · 01/06/2016 18:35

Wombattoo - would you mind entering my weight? I was 133 lbs yesterday. Scared of screwing up spreadsheet if I fiddle with it and mess up macros….

3Perfect - your weight loss is v. inspirational. Well done you Flowers

WanHeda · 01/06/2016 19:00

Have been really silly and went out for lunch on the beach without any sun cream on - now very burnt! Ouch.

Veryflummoxed · 01/06/2016 19:02

Hi all. Food for today

B I experimented with BP Green tea. Not sure about it, I might try again.

L. Left over pork in cream sauce with slim noodles. Boiled egg. Cucumber mayonnaise.

D corned beef hash. Made with corned beef. Shallots. Swede. Cauliflower. It was delicious comfort food.

On track with water. Otherwise black and mint tea.

repeatingpatterns · 01/06/2016 19:15

Very in-hungry today, but have been snacking quite a bit as have been at home all day supervising ds's 'revision'.

So, BPC for breakfast, followed by mindless nibbling on cheddar, almonds and pork scratchings, plus two boiled eggs dipped in butter and salt. Not great, as no green stuff, but at least it was all LCHF!

Partly I think it's because yesterday I was a bit (a lot) of a carby twat - had a day-long event at work and a colleague had baked - including salted caramel brownies with a Rolo pushed into the middle of each one... She had made them 'for me' as they were my fave when I was a sugar fiend, so I felt awful refusing them yesterday. Of course I couldn't stop at one, could I? Hmm

Anyway, have duck legs roasting in the oven with a side of buttered green beans and spinach, plus plenty of water. Rolo brownies can hardly compete!

Equiem89 · 01/06/2016 19:19

wanheda I think there's a cabbage carbonara recipe on the recipe thread. You use white cabbage rather than pasta and I love it

3perfectweemen · 01/06/2016 19:22

Notdead it is a good loss but I wonder is it down to baby weight being easier to loose? Baby is 16 weeks now. I started when I stopped breastfeeding. :)

wombattoo · 01/06/2016 19:28
