Morning all! I'm excited to see what the scales are telling everyone this week - it sounds like we've had some great results so far!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Here's to another successful week

Oh, and also made Parmesan crisps which are more chewy than crispy but very delicious.

Wintersea · 28/05/2016 18:32

Motorway service stations are so rubbish for low carbers - Costa, macdonalds, w h smiths and a place selling mainly fry ups or jacket spuds. Didn't fancy tackling a fry up as a takeaway so ended up with a tiny packet of olives, a tiny packet of nuts and tomato/basil soup (DH ate the bread roll)... Not great but cd be worse I suppose. Shame I'd not had time to shop and prepare something before we left - mind you didn't expect a 4 hr journey to be almost 8....

reader77 · 28/05/2016 18:46

That's not bad going Wintersea considering what you had to choose from.

Pleased to report I have consumed 3 litres of water already today. I'm finding that almost as challenging as the cutting out carbs!

LaserShark · 28/05/2016 19:23

Awake early, made a bulletproof coffee. It was nice and creamy but with a slightly bitter aftertaste, don't know what I did wrong.
B - Greek yoghurt with cinnamon, agreed with pp that's it's like a lovely pudding!
S - wandered around kitchen all morning nibbling leftover roast chicken.
L - tuna salad with mayo made from the paleo whole 30 recipe someone posted earlier and turned out amazing!
D - cauliflower crust pizza. Was great! Made it because my family had requested my homemade pizza so I ended up making three different types from scratch, two with traditional pizza dough and then my cauli one. I was in the kitchen for fecking ages! It really satisfied my desire for something with a crunchy, carby mouth feel. I thought I'd join the kids in strawberries and cream for pudding but am so full!

MothershipG · 28/05/2016 19:25

Thanks BIWI, DH has done the decent thing and eaten the cake Grin

I have read the science, it makes sense in my head but it goes against what I've believed for so long that it just seems hokey. I also have the evidence of my scales ! GrinGrinGrin

I can't start knocking back the water until I've walked my dogs, so I'm trying to squeeze more liquid than I have ever consumed in my life between 10 & 5! Can't wait for my bladder to adapt! Smile

ClopySow · 28/05/2016 19:26

I just had pork belly strips with olive oil and oregano served with salad and home made tzatziki. It was bloody marvellous.

I drank tons of water earlier. I seem to find it easier early in the day

IndianaJone · 28/05/2016 19:55

Coming down with a cold I think today. Was also out and about and didn't get my water quota in. Had about 1.5 liters.

B: BPC and scrambled eggs in butter
L: Fried mackeral and salad
D: Lamb curry and cauliflower
S: Spoon of butter

Getting a bit sick of eggs...can't wait until we can start having bpc only instead of full breakfast.

Wintersea · 28/05/2016 20:05

Thanks reader77 !
Out for dinner though this evening - anniversary and a birthday, so may well have a glass of something then be back in it tomorrow
For any long term low carbers - do you get carb flu you have the occasional carb fest or does your body cope ok if you revert to low carbing pretty fast after?

restinglawyer · 28/05/2016 20:09

Thanks BIWI, we are a similar age, so I'm encouraged - will carry on running without eating first. My ambition is to get back under 30 minutes this year!

Mookbark · 28/05/2016 20:15

Had a lovely BBQ. I had 2 sausages, half a beef burger and I did have a few bites of the spare ribs. Plus a big mixed salad, with hm vinaigrette and hm mayonnaise - very proud of myself for making it it was piss easy. Think I ate without thinking, though, as I'm stuffed now. DH bought two punnets of strawberries, but we've left them for now. I'll try and abstain until Monday but I'm not promising I won't be tempted tomorrow.
Unfortunately, the DC were hungry, so haven't got the leftovers I was hoping for for tomorrow.

StinkyPetra · 28/05/2016 20:22

Hello all, can I please sneak in maybe? I have been low carbing for about 8 weeks and thus far lost 20lbs. I have not really embraced the high fat side of things but have focused on good proteins and I suppose good fats. I have also gone from running 0k to 10k in that space of time. I've still a way to go but for those at the start I just wanted to say do keep going and hopefully I can join here to help me through my wobbles!

Wintersea · 28/05/2016 20:33

Wow stinkypetra - that's brilliant. Both the food And the running....

Wintersea · 28/05/2016 20:40

And welcome!

StinkyPetra · 28/05/2016 20:44

Thank you - I'll admit I've become a bit obsessed but feeling so much better! Still have 30lbs to go but enjoying the energy so hoping it continues. It feels like it has become habit rather than a diet now which is good I hope!

lisbapalea · 28/05/2016 21:06

Wow stinkypetra that progress in running is seriously impressive! I am desperate to be bitten by the running bug as I keep hearing such amazing stories, but my laziness is winning every time!

Had a good day today food wise but am STILL blocked and it is weird! I am not in any discomfort and have been eating loads of veg, drinking gallons of water and having flaxseed with my breakfast. I don't feel confident of a whoosh until things start moving!

Didn't post about dinner last night - was a bit weird as DH and I had a bit of a bicker / row (all resolved now) so dinner was abandoned. I had some celery with Boursin and Brie while I sulked!

Today has been good though:
B - Greek yog and coyo with flaxseed
L - went to a really dodgy looking pub but managed to order jerk chicken which came on a bed of onions and mushrooms. The jerk paste was homemade and herby / fresh gingery rather than anything sugary and I just left the onions and ate muahrooms. I also had a side of their homemade coleslaw instead of chips
D - chicken, avocado, blue cheese, cucumber, spinach salad with extra mayo and homemade oily dressing

We're off for lunch with friends tomorrow so no idea what lunch will be but I will take control of what goes on my plate as much as I can do without being rude!

Really looking forward to reintroducing berries into my life on Monday - think my digestive system relies on them for a morning wake up call!

glenthebattleostrich · 28/05/2016 21:23

Hi, not been on the thread for a few days.

Food today

B ffs yogurt, tea with cream
L ham and philli wrapped in lettuce with some cucumber
T home made burgers with salad
S green tea

I managed to run today without feeling like my legs were going to fall off. Started off as a brisk walk but then managed 1.5 miles without stopping as the mood just took me
Very pleased to say that while I'm still doing 3 meals a day my portion sizes have almost halved from 2 weeks ago so fingers crossed for a good result on Monday.

Veryflummoxed · 28/05/2016 21:24

Today was

B belly pork
L mince and cauliflower
D sausages, roast swede, mushrooms, dress d green leaves.

Three litres of water, should be three and a half. I must try harder. Also had some Diet Coke, in a cafe and feeling to hot for tea or coffee. Didn't enjoy it though and left half.

stilllovingmysleep · 28/05/2016 21:32

Hi everyone! I also had a very good day and did loads of gardening which was excellent exercise. Really enjoyed it. Meals were:
Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs and some cheddar cheese with olive oil / salt
Lunch: mozzarella and olives
Dinner: fried halloumi / roast beef slices / cucumber with basil / olive oil / lemon

Onwards and upwards!

nekobus · 28/05/2016 21:39

Hello all. Good day here, fab weather and lots of jobs got done in the garden while the DC played (almost) nicely together Smile after a trip to garden centre.

B - 2 hb eggs and butter
L - out for pub lunch - bunless burger, cheddar, bacon and salad. Had some coleslaw which I'm hoping wasn't too bad...
D - crunchy chicken wrapped in little gem with salsa, guacamole, sour cream and cheese.

DH loves breaded chicken as a treat so I made my own low carb version, sort of following this recipe http://thedish.plated.com/pecorino-crusted-chicken-fingers-kale-quinoa-pilaf/ but did half and half Parmesan and ground almonds then the seasonings. Probably would have been crunchier if I'd fried it, but was very tasty, if a little messy Grin

I'm away with ds for a few days. We took a packed lunch on the train journey down here, so I had a salmon and prawn salad with avocado. This evening we've had an Indian takeaway. We usually share lots of small dishes, so I just chose ones which weren't too carby. Chicken chat, shish kebab, sag bhaji, mushroom bhaji, niramish. Ds had extra dishes, including rice and naan. Have also had a glass of wine (I know I shouldn't), but having not drunk alcohol really over the last few weeks, now feel quite strange! Think I will drink some more water and go to bed!

PlayNice · 28/05/2016 22:09

Super day today:

Turkish yogurt for breakfast, avocado for lunch and a chargrilled vegetable salad for dinner.

I'm doing Moroccan/Lebanese food tomorrow, with herb stuffed lamb, cauliflower tabbouleh, baba ganouche and tomato, cucumber and spring onion salad. Eee. Excited.

SayrraT · 28/05/2016 22:51

Having a fab time in Copenhagen but do not ask me about the food!

Been on the look out for BIWI but I've not spotted her yet Grin

3perfectweemen · 28/05/2016 23:57

Has anyone tried bpc with an egg blitzed in?it's surprisingly nice and really creamy. Good for breakfast if you are in a rush.

ClopySow · 29/05/2016 06:23

How does that work then? Doesn't the egg cook?

Mookbark · 29/05/2016 06:58

3perfect sounds like a hangover cure. Grin
Nekobus that chicken looks lovely, think I'll try it with the DC this week.
Now, TMI alert, but I need to poo! Not had any problems until the last couple of days but feeling v.bunged up. Sorry, just felt the need to share that.
Not sure about today's breakfast and lunch, but roast beef for dinner with mashed celeriac/leek and other veg.
