Morning all! I'm excited to see what the scales are telling everyone this week - it sounds like we've had some great results so far!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Here's to another successful week

Thinking of you cider and hope you get some help for your ds today. Well done on KOKO anyway. Flowers

monkeyfacegrace · 25/05/2016 07:54

Gahhhhh I shouldn't be a daily weigher.

I'm due on, haven't been to the toilet in 3 days, so that's why I've apparently gained 2lb overnight again, but why do those numbers on a scale dictate my mood for the entire day??!

I'm on a plateau and it's so hard to ride out. Good luck today everyone.

boldlygoingsomewhere · 25/05/2016 07:55

Good luck with the treatment, Cider.

Joining the group who have experienced vivid dreams- last night I dreamt that I was desperately trying to find low carb options from various food stalls. It was all bread, noodles, grains! Eventually I chose sashimi from the sushi stall. Have never eaten sushi in my life! Smile

SoMuchToBits · 25/05/2016 08:20

Good luck with the treatment Cider, and well done re the wine. I'm another one who can't believe I'm not drinking wine any more. I never thought I would be able to give it up, as I was drinking every night, several glasses. I think that not having swings in blood sugar levels has dramatically reduced my cravings for wine. Interesting, because quite a few people who give up drinking report the need to replace the wine with chocolate/cakes etc.

I'm not really craving carbs at all now just cheese.

Mookbark · 25/05/2016 08:29

Cider good luck for you and your son today. I'm very impressed with you sticking to BC through all that. If I have a sniffle, I've been know to get derailed. Flowers
Standning well done on the loss, KOKO does work.
Food for today:
B - creamy coffee x2, halloumi and olives
L - tuna mayonnaise, fried avocado and mixed salad
D - beef curry with cauliflower rice
S - spicy chai latte.

I am another one having vivid dreams, but I can't remember last nights, and sleeping really well. Which is good as the last two BC I did I was not sleeping very well.
Good eating everyone.

Mookbark · 25/05/2016 08:30

Stately not Standing, sorry I'm on the app.

Iamdobby63 · 25/05/2016 08:48

cider lots of love to you and I hope you find a solution to your sons migraines. Really well done on the no wine and chocolate, it actually doesn't solve anything and in the end brings another issue (no weight loss).

monkey yes that's why I stopped weighing every day, it would spoil my day and sometimes sabotage my diet. You already know the reason for the 'gain' so just be patient.

regularbutpanickingabit · 25/05/2016 08:52

Also having vivid dreams which is very concerting when the alarm goes off and I don't realise I am asleep!

Decided we had eaten too many sauce-based foods for dinner since I started so last night we had fresh burgers, cheese and fried eggs with spinach salad and mayo.

B - 3 egg scramble with double cream and butter
L - have packed some fresh salmon, spinach salad and mayo
D - pork thai curry

Also having an issue with scales. Not sure how to play it - I seem to get 4 or 5 different weights depending where I stand. Do I just pick one place and go with whatever that says? Or always go with the highest or lowest weight? The scales were really good in my old house but just seem to fluctuate here.

HumphreyCobblers · 25/05/2016 08:57

Had really salty gammon for tea yesterday, I drank 2l of water afterwards and have hardly weed any of it out (tmi). Am really puffy today. Weighed a pound and a half more than yesterday so the 10 stone barrier has to be re-done!

Statelychangers · 25/05/2016 09:39

Thanks Mook

Eva50 · 25/05/2016 10:00

Good morning. Dismal day here today and quite cold too after the beautiful day yesterday. I'm another one who has gone 9 days without wine (actually this is day 10) and I can't say I really miss it. Dh, on the other hand, is not happy at all. I will be surprised if he sees this week out.

B. Turkish yogurt
L. Tuna salad
D. Thai curry with konjac (?sp) noodles

The children will have ordinary noodles or rice.

Veryflummoxed · 25/05/2016 10:03

Regularbutpanickingabit
I always try to put the scales in the same place (can't keep them there as in the way) it's a place that seems to give a more favourable result than some. Then for weigh in I go with whatever it shows on the day. During the week (daily weigher) it goes up and down quite a bit but I get excited by a new all time low and gradually it stops reaching such a high high.

eleven59 · 25/05/2016 10:10

Today I am feeling so sluggish. Just been for a run and my limbs felt like they were weighed down with lead. I am also really really thirsty.

Any words of wisdom????????

regularbutpanickingabit · 25/05/2016 10:14

Very - thank you, that sounds like a very sensible approach. That's exactly what I am feeling at the moment - insanely excited if I see a low low and then a bit depressed and a bit of a fraud when it hits a high again. The good news is that it has never gone as high as my starting weight so I guess that proves its working!
Thanks for taking the time to answer.

Iamdobby63 · 25/05/2016 10:22

eleven59 Yes, lack of salt. Try an oxo (or similar) drink twice a day.

eleven59 · 25/05/2016 10:28

Thanks lamdobby, the kettle is on...

Pengweng · 25/05/2016 10:31

Just logging food. Have a really busy week and am tired and grumpy and have pms. Urghhh

Breakfast - boiled eggs and butter (i like to eat the yoak then put a knob of butter in to melt then eat the white)
Lunch will be chicken, salad, goats cheese and olives.
Dinner cauli fried rice.

Mookbark · 25/05/2016 10:33

eleven It can also take 4-6 weeks to become fat adapted when exercising, so it can feel harder for a while, but it will pass.

LaserShark · 25/05/2016 10:33

I just bought some coconut oil. What should I do with it?!

StuntNun · 25/05/2016 10:35

Patter I was the same with period cravings when I started Bootcamp and was sternly rebuked by BIWI after crisp-gate. The good news is the cravings stopped after the first couple of cycles AND my period pain completely cleared up too.

Seasidesally the Which? best buy scales are the Tanita RD-901 (£140) and Beurer BF700 (£39) but they were looking specifically at ones that calculate your body composition.

DoingIt Mr Porky pork scratchings are full of nasty ingredients. I buy the Awfully Posh ones from Amazon or Waitrose, or M&S do nice ones. Or you can make your own.

Monkey I have been known to take the batteries out of the scales if they're giving me numbers I don't like!

Indiana after three years this is just the way I eat now. When I'm at my maintenance weight then I add back in apples, sweet potato, butternut squash, the occasional potato, and a small amount of white rice (not as much as a normal portion would be). I also relax about things like food in breadcrumbs or thickeners in sauces/gravies. The other way of doing maintenance is to continue eating Bootcamp Light but have a cheat meal/day every week or two.

BursarsFrogs · 25/05/2016 10:37

Lots of luck with your treatment, Cider Flowers

I had no idea this WOE had something to do with vivid dreams. It's reassuring to hear that others are having them too, but I really hope this isn't a permanent feature?! I've been having some horrible post-traumatic nightmares in the past week, and actually not really managed much any sleep now for a few nights. That's not ideal for my poor MH.

But I'm 12 days bulimia episode free, I think. It doesn't sound much, since I've gone months and probably years before with just "normal comfort eating binges" before, but the way it's been recently, 12 days is ages. I'm very pleased.

Breakfast today was two fried eggs, black coffee, and some milled linseeds mixed with water (because I'm constipated).

For lunch and snacking I've got an avocado, cheeses, salad veggies, and the leftovers from yesterday's coleslaw. It was lovely, by the way. I made a bigger portion than the recipe, and the only reason there's leftovers is that I put some aside before we ate.

Dinner will be parmesan coated chicken bits, as that sounds intriguing. I'm not sure what to cook with that. Some sort of buttery vegetables probably. Or maybe some swede mash.

Mookbark · 25/05/2016 10:57

Laser I do most of my frying with coconut oil, or drizzle it over veg to roast. You can put it in coffee with butter to make a bulletproof coffee (BPC) and in BC lite you can make fat bombs with it. I love coconut oil and couldn't do BC without it.

Lots of luck with your treatment cider and I hope your DS feels better soon.
Today will be a bit of a challenge on the alcohol front , I have not had even a sip since bootcamp started but have a get together after work with my friend . It will be hard not to have a gin !
Food wise I remain addicted to marks and Spencer's coconut chicken with an avocado , salad and mayonnaise . It's my favourite meal .

Titsalinabumsquash · 25/05/2016 10:59

Aubergines. I have lots, I was going to use them to replace pasta in lasagne, should I griddle them first? Does anyone have any other LC recipes to use them up?
