Made a lovely tea this evening. Lamb cutlets in an garlic, salt and oil marinade, oven cooked for about 30 minutes until fat all crispy. Served with griddled asparagus (oil dressing) and feta cheese, cucumber and mint all mixed in with yogurt. In the past I would have eaten loads of meat, but this evening I was full after two.

Not sure how I feel about weigh in tomorrow. I've bought some new scales and tomorrow will be first day of using them. In my mind I'm thinking that tomorrow should almost be a fresh start as I can't really compare any loss between scales - especially as my other ones were so crazy with its 4lb fluctuations within seconds!

reader77 · 22/05/2016 19:32

I love reading about everyone's food.

D- roast chicken, buttered cabbage and creamed cauliflower.

Ifonlyiweretaller · 22/05/2016 20:06

I too have just signed up and added myself to the spreadsheet. Have done LC successfully in the past but completely somewhat lost my way recently. This is great and gives loads of suggestions and ideas for things to eat!
Does anyone else use the Ketostix to measure if they are in Ketsosis?

feekerry · 22/05/2016 20:12

Good luck to all those weighing in tomorrow. Eek!

Pengweng · 22/05/2016 20:31

I've had a weird day food wise. I had two boiled eggs and coffee with cream for breakfast.
2 chicken thighs with roast cauli and sprouts cooked in olive oil for lunch.
Egg mayo and cucumber and two bits of cheese for dinner. Don't think I've eaten enough but i feel full so I'm ok.

Breakfast tomorrow will be hard. I normally eat after i drop the dcs off at school but i volunteer on mondays and tuesdays so need to eat before we leave at 8. It could well be a stick of cheese. Smile
Anxious about weigh in tomorrow too. Eek.

BIWI · 22/05/2016 20:31

If you're drinking the amount of water that you should be, the ketostix won't register much of a change, so they're a complete and utter waste of money!

Sunday we always go out for dinner, and it's variable as to how low carb I can go. Today was great - lovely, local Italian which has a really good range of special dishes. So I had chicken breast, pan-fried with prosciutto and mozzarella, with buttered spinach. Lovely!

wombattoo · 22/05/2016 20:38

You can have bpc on bc, but not as a replacement for a meal. Some people were having them for breakfast. They can be a good way to increase the fat intake.

BIWI · 22/05/2016 20:40

During the first two weeks of Bootcamp you shouldn't be having BPC instead of breakfast.

Titsalinabumsquash · 22/05/2016 20:47

I'm just checking in. Excited to see if I've lost anything tomorrow. Smile

DailyMailResearcher · 22/05/2016 20:51

Place marking

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 22/05/2016 20:52

I've just downloaded a bunch of free low carb and ketogenic recipe books from the kindle store. Obviously most are rubbish and you have to make sure each recipe fits our rules but it's been fun! You always get ideas and learn things. I say this as a cookbook nerd!

Veryflummoxed · 22/05/2016 21:12

Breakfast yogurt

Diner rib eye steak. Mushrooms. broccoli. Celeriac mash. Swede Chips

Supper. Burger. Coleslaw cheese.

Snacks olives and pork scratchings. I didn't need the scratchings, just had a bit of a craving for something.

Water. Just under 3 Litres

Weigh in tomorrow. Good luck everyone

Gcalgske · 22/05/2016 21:15

Americano is an espresso with hot water added, personally I prefer filter coffee and in most coffee places it's about half the price Brew

raisedbyguineapigs · 22/05/2016 21:25

Had a mixed day today. I'm travelling for work, and didn't plan properly really! I had leftover chicken drumsticks for breakfast, but then ended up having lunch in the train station. After searching a load of sandwich shops and sushi bars, I ended up in McDonald's with a bun less burger! It was 2 burgers, with bacon, cheese and all the sauces and salad. Then I had a carvery in the hotel, which was meat and veggies and a glass of wine. It's breakfast buffet tomorrow so I'll have a cooked breakfast. I've had too many coffees with milk though, and not drunk nearly enough water so I've not been strict enough. I'll have to draw a discreet veil, I think, although I'm at the weight I always seem to stall at .

Gcalgske · 22/05/2016 21:25

I've missed loads of the thread and I'm shattered so just popped in to say hello. As I didn't stop BC last time and had a dear friends wedding yesterday I allowed myself a shitload few gin and sodas with fresh lime. I was soooo busy yesterday getting everyone ready (DH can't dress himself in Kilt) Confused so I only ate one meal all day (pork belly roasted in the oven with courgette, radishes, shallots, butter and garlic - one pan, super easy and REALLY good) so I was really drunk. Still avoided the wedding food (traditional Scottish wedding fayre - stovies/oatcakes so nothing I could eat). Very hung over today so went out for a brunch fry up at a local pub (swapped sausage for bacon, two eggs, tomato, mushrooms) was lovely and I really had a hankering for nachos so made myself some pork scratchings with cheddar, jalapeños and sour cream which hit the spot. Mmm

Weird day here - body is doing strange things after 3 days of normal (LC) food after the Noro virus petered out. Woke up really distended and uncomfortable. I literally could not contemplate putting anything else in. Drank lots of water and some Ayurvedic stomach ease tea and by about 3pm was feeling a bit better. By this time DD1 was desperate to do her homemade sweets recipe. Had already decided in advance I could help with this and resist the temptation. However...it pretty much went drastically wrong (the recipe) and she was very crestfallen so I had to step in and think of something to make that she could add to it to rescue the attempt....this took ages as we kept having to wait for the original thing to set...by which time I wasn't sure if what I had in mind would work...did OK with all this...but missed my own food window..so then there was a bit of carbs twatness. (((Slaps self round face))) I was doing well...anyway long story short, DH ended up doing tea short notice, none too LC friendly.
Having finally beat the bloat by afternoon I've finished the day really uncomfortable again. Think it's not just water retention as my water intake is always reasonable even if not on boot camp and it was ok today too...just some weird side effect of the Noro.
Anyway, will climb back on the horse tomorrow. It wasn't even that major but had been doing pretty well. Oh rambling now, will shut up.

IndianaJone · 22/05/2016 21:32

Today I missed a proper breakfast as wasn't hungry first thing but then was hungry for rest of day so it definitely did throw me off. Not good and lesson learnt.

B: coffee with cream
L: tuna mayo salad with sprinkle of cheese
Snack: co yo
D: fish and veg curry
S: small chicken leg

Water: 2.5L

Jemima another one also a bit concerned and hope you get it sorted after speaking to your gp/nurse.

KP86 and Margaritas thanks - will check Morrisons for noodles as Waitrose is too posh for my town!

Wombat thanks again. Will have to buy the coconut oil for the coffee but definitely will once I've done my grocery shop for the week. Good luck for weigh in tomorrow everyone!

StrawberryLeaf · 22/05/2016 21:50

Hello, nice to see all the lovely food everyone's been having.

Today has been:

B - 3 cloud bread with butter, cream cheese and a scrape of marmite. Coffee and cream

L - little gem, cucumber, tuna and boiled egg salad with olive oil and red wine vinegar dressing

S - cheese chunks

D - pepper, tomato and aubergine stew with a poached egg. I know this will be higher carb, my husband cooked dinner and we struggle to get things we can eat together, he has allergies and is marathon training! I didn't have the crusty bread he had!

lisbapalea · 22/05/2016 21:52

B - scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and watercress
L - more watercress with some halloumi and a sort of coleslaw made with cabbage, celery and green pepper with mayo, ff yog and herbs
D - roast chicken with skin on, broccoli, leeks cooked with cream and tarragon, mashed swede with loads of butter
Small bowl of cream, yogurt and Creme fraiche.

Hoping everyone has an impressive whoosh overnight for a successful weigh in tomorrow!

raisedbyguineapigs · 22/05/2016 21:55

sociallyacceptablecookie I think crunchy peanut butter has fewer nuts in per 100g as the volume of ground nuts to nut pieces is different I think

SayrraT · 22/05/2016 22:00

Just popping in to update my food. I'm very pleased with how the weekend went as I was out on Saturday night and today DP's parents, sister, BIL and nieces came round and we went for lunch.

Saturday food

B: scrambled eggs, coffee with cream (discovered that a Rayburn is not good for making scrambled eggs on)
L: broccoli soup
D: (at an Italian, I'd checked the menu online but when we got there it was different!) Tuscan meatballs to start, chicken in a creamy sauce with bacon for main, coffee for dessert.

Mum and dad were just back from a holiday to Peru and they brought me some delicious dark chocolate which I had today (1 square) when everyone else had biscuits.

Today's food

B: two sausages, coffee with cream
L: venison Caesar salad (no croutons) then I had coffee while the others had cake)
D: broccoli soup, roast turkey leg

Currently got some pig skin in the oven to make cracking, yummy!

Wintersea · 22/05/2016 22:14

Just had s quick peek at jar of crunchy peanut butter li lurking at back of cupboard after reading raisedby's post hoping it may be los carb but print way too tiny to see. Think it says 4.5g per serving so that's out as a sneaky snack (unhelpful)!

OneMoreForExtra · 22/05/2016 23:12

Looking forward to restarting tomorrow morning, attitude revamped and fridge stocked with low carb loveliness! (Thanks for lovely supportive reaction, BIWI, I'll make our week 1a count on the strength of it). Also hoping to keep up with the thread a better next week, which I didn't manage this week - and what a threaD it was! Good luck weighing in everyone!

CiderwithBuda · 22/05/2016 23:27

Funny day.

Had breakfast muffins for breakfast, leftover curry and courgetti for lunch, still hungry so had two Babybels and some M&S crispy bacon.

Really struggled with drinking water.

Then got a migraine. Haven't had one for a very long time. Nipped it in the bud quickly with nurofen thankfully. DS was amused. We are in migraine hell with him currently - 15 migraines in 19 days. He had had one this morning.

Pork belly and roast veg for dinner. The crackling wasn't great though and I felt a bit queasy after the migraine so didn't enjoy the fattiness much.

Lots of water and herbal tea this evening. And a Sunday night treat of cheese.

Hoping for no migraine for DS tomorrow and a good result in scales for me.

anniebambammie · 23/05/2016 03:08

Well it's officially Monday here and pleased to report I'm 5lbs down!! Yay!! I know that's an unsustainable rate but I am really pleased with it for week 1!
