Ask anything you want here!

Hopefully between me and some of the other experienced Bootcampers we can answer your questions.

As much butter as you like! Honestly!

Read the stuff on the resources section about fat

I'm sorry I posted that on the wrong thread.

BIWI · 18/05/2016 13:29

Re milk, it's because if you're having several cups of tea/coffee you can quickly end up having a lot of carbs

OP posts:
BIWI · 18/05/2016 13:33

Mookbark I think that amount of Worcestershire sauce between 4 would be fine!

I can't find anywhere how many g of carbs per day I should be aiming to eat. I have looked, I promise. Just wondering if I can get away with eating the stew I accidentally put flour in (as it is how I always make it) without thinking. Sorry to ask so many questions. New to all this!

Mookbark · 18/05/2016 14:33

Thanks BIWI , i just had this thought that i had read on another BC that it wasn't allowed.
Margarita there isn't a carb count to aim for/ keep under as everyone is different to how much they can tolerate and still lose weight. The idea is just to follow the rules...Saying that, how much flour did you put in? Between how many people? You can work the carb count out and decide whether it is worth it or not, as a one off.

SayrraT · 18/05/2016 15:06

I typed out a longer reply but my phone wouldn’t post it!!

On BC we are aiming to get our calories from fat followed by protein and finally carbs. Cream contains more fat than milk so it is better for us in that respect.

Here is a breakdown to compared fat, protein and carbs in milk, cream and ff yogurt (I used Total) all values are grams per 100ml or 100g.

Milk: carbs 4.7/fat 3.6/protein 3.2
Double cream: fat 50.5/carbs 1.6/protein 1.5
FF yogurt: protein 9.0/fat 5.0/carbs 3.8

So you can see from this that cream is better for us on BC than milk because it contains more fat which will help to keep us feeling full as well as providing energy.

BIWI · 18/05/2016 15:14

margaritas no problem!

And to repeat what's already been said, there's no daily amount of carbs set. This is because we all have different levels of carbs that we can tolerate

If you follow the Bootcamp rules, particularly around the type of veg/salad to eat, you will be fine.

To reassure you (a bit!) about the flour, a tablespoon of plain flour, i.e. 25g, contains 19.5 carbs. So if you used that much, between four, you would have had less than 5g carbs.

So as long as the rest of your day was a good Bootcamp day, then don't stress about it.

Where are we with hummus? Not BC, obviously, but BC Lite, thereafter?

I 'll cry if you say no

SayrraT · 18/05/2016 17:14

Sorry doing it's a no. No grains, pulses etc on BC. Have you looked at the carb count for hummus?

DoingItForMyselfAtLast · 18/05/2016 17:19

😭 < see, told you I'd cry.

Bugger it anyway. Not looked at the carb count, as I luckily don't have any in the house at the mo.

Sigh.

BIWI · 18/05/2016 17:59

We is hard here, Doing.

We don't care if you cry.

Crack that whip BIWI!

DoingItForMyselfAtLast · 18/05/2016 18:10

I'm sure I'll thank you eventually...

BIWI · 18/05/2016 18:12

Oh yes.

It's all for your own good!

OP posts:
SayrraT · 18/05/2016 18:17

It will be worth it doing, I promise you.

RaisinGirls · 18/05/2016 18:48

How much water should I be drinking each day? I'm 161lbs. I did she the list somewhere but can't remember where

RaisinGirls · 18/05/2016 18:50

Ignore me. I've found it in the rules spreadsheet - funny that!

BIWI · 18/05/2016 18:51

The list is posted in the rules, which are on this thread. Scroll back to find them.

Do you have your MN set so that OP and your posts are in different colours? If not, it's a really good idea.

I'm sorry, I'm not going to re-post them, because every time someone asks for something that's already on the thread it's me (or someone else) who has to go to the trouble of copying and pasting.

OP posts:
BIWI · 18/05/2016 18:51

Hah! x-post Raisin girls.

OP posts:
BIWI · 18/05/2016 18:54

But this does act as a message to everyone else. Please change your settings so that your posts have the OP in one colour, and your posts in a colour of your choice. Then that way you won't miss anything that I position the Bootcamp threads

And then please, please, please - READ THE THREAD!

I can't tell you how frustrating it is when I take the time to write something, and then half an hour later someone asks me for that information.

OP posts:
BIWI · 18/05/2016 18:54

position?! post on, obviously!

OP posts:
MyShinyThing · 18/05/2016 21:00

Hi everyone, I've only posted twice on the other thread I think & just wanted to check if I don't post on there will I be taken off the spreadsheet? I think someone said that if people aren't active then they're taken off to make room.

Is it enough to just add my weight each week? I haven't really had much time to post (and also my food choices are pretty boring!) but I have been sticking to the rules and reading everything posted when I've had time.

Also I know a lot of people have mentioned constipation is common but I seem to be having the opposite problem! Has anyone else had this & is there anything I can do to stop it or will it just stop once I've adjusted to the woe?

Also big thank you to everyone that have obviously put so much effort into this! All the advice is brilliant.Flowers

BIWI · 18/05/2016 21:06

MyShinyThing - don't worry, it's not about how often you post! It's whether or not you update the spreadsheet each week.

If people don't do it after a couple of weeks, (I think) Sayrra deletes them.

All you need to do is put your weight in each week. Although obviously it would be lovely if you came to chat as well Grin

Some people do experience the opposite problem, but it should soon settle down.

Welcome, and good luck! Flowers

OP posts:
MyShinyThing · 18/05/2016 21:15

Thanks BIWI, I'm determined to stay on the wagon so will be updating come Monday! I have followed BC before without actually joining but only made it through about 2 weeks. I've made it to the spreadsheet this time so that's progress! I think I'm more of a lurker by nature.

Good to know it will go away, my stomach's been making some spectacular noises in the office all day!
