Welcome everyone!

We have around 130 people signed up this time, so it's going to be a busy and fast-moving thread.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to enter your weight.

The lovely Sayrra manages the spreadsheet. Please don't mess with it! Just enter your weight and leave all the other columns/rows alone!

I'll start a questions thread to run along side this chat thread, so that you can post stuff there in the knowledge that your question will definitely be seen. (I can't promise to get to your questions immediately, but I will read and answer them)

And please, please, please - no matter how fast-moving the thread is, please read the whole thing and don't just post your own thing. You'll miss a lot of valuable stuff that way, and it also presumes that I (and other posters) are happy to keep repeating stuff.

But above all, very good luck everyone!

Looks lush WanHeda - where did you get the raw ingredients from?

Does anyone know anywhere that sells skin-on, boneless chicken thighs?

Yesterday:

B: 3 scrambled eggs with butter and cream
L: handful of almonds (didn't take lunch.... Fail to prepare....)
D: chicken thighs (skin on), salad and pan fried field mushrooms.

Some water. Not enough.

Today so far:

B: scrambled eggs with cream & butter
L: Nandos - chicken thighs, salad and coleslaw
D: ? Might be quick & eggy so I can go swimming.

WanHeda · 18/05/2016 16:36

Four I bought some pig skin from Morrisons, just sprinkle some pink salt on it & cooked it!

Iamdobby63 · 18/05/2016 16:38

WanHeda Whoa, they look yummy..... Enjoy!

wombattoo · 18/05/2016 17:21

Hello everyone.
I've read the thread and had a couple of points -
Bursars That's great news that you've had 5 days episode free.
Patter. Peas are quite high in carbs and def no beetroot.
Buddah I bought some poached salmon fillets and have had them with a spoon of cream cheese for breakfast. Today I had 1 egg mayo with a handful of prawns mixed in.
Wintersea I think BIWI has said it but no sweetcorn.
Wand You have my sympathies. You'll remember that I struggled last bootcamp. I ate a few carbs and got away with it, but it triggered massive cravings and the weight caught up with me. I'm not making that mistake this time Grin

My dh makes my dinner every evening and he is very good at catering for my lc woe. Tonight was pork tenderloin with a spicy rub fried in olive oil. The first taste and all I could taste was sugar. He assured me he hadn't added anything, but hadn't had time to make his own rub so used a Nandos dry rub.
OMG - 50.8g of sugar per 100gm and 50.8gm carbs. Avoid, avoid avoid.
However, it shows how sensitive I am to the sweet taste.

wombattoo · 18/05/2016 17:27

boldly - I've added you to the spreadsheet

eleven59 · 18/05/2016 17:29

Hi

Today has gone well for me though I've been hungry and eaten loads. Not cheated though and I even managed to resist licking the bowl out after making my son's birthday cake!

B Leftover chicken thigh, spinach and leek
snack - yoghurt
L Scrambled egg, parmesan and more spinach and a few cherry toms
mid afternoon 2 chicken thighs, handful of spinach
Dinner - planning a salad with a yogurt dressing

Drinks - 2 bullet proof coffes, 2 teas, 2 oxos.

SoMuchToBits · 18/05/2016 17:29

Four if you go to a local independent butchers, they should do the chicken thighs how you want. My butchers always ask if I want the bone in/skin on.

BIWI · 18/05/2016 17:56

Fourarms my Sainsbury's sells packs of chicken thighs - skin on and boneless. They're not pre-packed in the main meat chiller, but are supposedly part of the butcher's counter, although in a separate chiller, if that makes any sense at all! They sell packs of 6 for £3 - brilliant value.

Four Ive had skin on thighs from M&S before.

I posted early this morning feeling rotten with carb flu and succumbed to a tiny amount of oats which I think helped (shows it must be carbs and not a bug etc).

Weird thing is last couple of days it has gone by mid morning. I feel great now and have done since then.

I'll be interested to see what happens tomorrow morning (and try to avoid oats!). Today I've eaten,

B - Greek yoghurt ( plus 2 teaspoons oats Blush)

L - broccoli and spinach salad, with some feta and a vinegarette made of red wine vinegar, spot of mustard and olive oil

D - griddled aubergine, courgette and halloumi with a spinach, broccoli and little gem salad with dressing as above

S - I've had a couple of chunks of cheese and black coffee

I'm going to try and make those cheese crisp things later as a wee snack to see if it helps my dizzy feeling in the morning. Oven bake little piles of grated cheese and wait for them to cool.

Think I've probably not had enough fat today, a lot of dairy.

Flisspaps · 18/05/2016 17:57

Waves to beyond

That tattoo is spectacular, definitely worth a numb bum! Now drink some water Grin

Veryflummoxed · 18/05/2016 18:12

Hello everyone. Lots of lovely food again.

B celery,cheese,olives

L one left over LC sausage, left over buttered mushrooms with two boiled eggs, little gem, cucumber mayonnaise

D pork curry. (Diced pork, shallots, cherry toms, mushrooms, sharwoods curry paste, butter.) and buttered courgette.

Three and a half litres of water.

And I am determined not to drop out.

Thanks to everyone writing on the thread and specially those answering all the newbie questions.

boldlygoingsomewhere · 18/05/2016 18:13

Thank you for adding me to the spreadsheet.Smile

Good day so far:
B- yoghurt and cheese
L- lettuce boats with tuna mayonnaise and haloumi
D- seabass with cauliflower and spinach in a creamy nutmeg sauce
Feeling pretty good and have reduced tea with milk intake to 2 cups.

KP86 · 18/05/2016 18:21

I wish I could make my own crackling, I've never managed it successfully. I might go looking for some pig skin on its own to try.

margaritasbythesea · 18/05/2016 18:25

I resisted the stewSmile I cooked a kind ok beef curry stir fry with coconut milk. And I bought some morrisons cream 1.6g Grin. I'm having it in my coffee tomorrow. Hope the milk / cream info was useful to others.

Iamdobby63 · 18/05/2016 18:32

Well done margaritasbythesea be proud! Hope you enjoy your cream, I water mine down so it goes further, if you water it down enough it might be ok for your tea.

KP86 · 18/05/2016 18:52

So happy with my dinner tonight.

I made Mexican mince (Google Linda's LC taco seasoning), and normally I serve on a bed of shredded lettuce, diced cucumbers and a very small amount of grated carrot (

raisedbyguineapigs · 18/05/2016 18:53

It's my birthday next week, and I was really, really looking forward to going to a show in the West End- but I made a huge error, which means not only can't I go, but I may as well have thrown £100 in the bin! I had my low carb birthday all worked out, organised babysitters, booked into an Argentinian restaurant that is basically meat with a side of meat! I feel like having a massive bottle of wine and stuffing my face with birthday cake to get over the disappointment! Sad Angry

I had egg muffins for breakfast, leftover LC moussaka for lunch and chilli with cauliflower rice for dinner. I even resisted the cake at work!

flipdoodle · 18/05/2016 18:56

Well I went and bought antipasti meat and cheese for quick easy breakfasts, but then had a meat and cheese based lunch instead. Balanced it up with a very tasty stir-fry, prawns and lots of veg. I was very pleased to see that bean sprouts are low carb, I was expecting them to be quite high for some reason.

I think I'm a way off being able to eat the skin on chicken/crackling etc. I really considered it when eating up some left over roast chicken, but don't like the idea at all. Putting lots of butter on everything is more my thing Grin.

flipdoodle · 18/05/2016 18:58

That's awful raised, is there nothing you can do to return/resell the tickets? Hope you can find some way to have a fab birthday regardless.

OP posts:
BIWI · 18/05/2016 19:04

Oh raised Sad That's awful - what happened?

OP posts:
wombattoo · 18/05/2016 19:05

Don't do it raised. I can understand how disappointed you must be, but if you have the wine and cake, you will still be disappointed and feel crap as well Thanks

monkeyfacegrace · 18/05/2016 19:06

Hi,

I'm on LCHF still, but will be very quiet and not contributing much.

I'm down to my last 10lb to lose, so I'm having to use LCD with LCHF. Trying to stick to 1200 cals per day, along with 4l of water. And yes, biwi if you remember my prev struggles, now I'm drinking 6 x 500ml of spring water every day, no squash or mixers.

It's bloody hard having to restrict calories too and I'm struggling a bit, hence keeping shtum on this thread.

Good luck everyone. Please try your very best and don't emotionally eat.

WanHeda · 18/05/2016 19:10

Parma-wrapped roast monkfish & roasted green beans here tonight.

BIWI · 18/05/2016 19:15

You might find that it helps to really up your fat to lose the last few pounds - StuntNun had to do that. Hopefully she'll be along soon to explain why.

Glad to see you've finally seen the light about the squash Wink
