SoF for you here

Hope you all have good results this morning, and here's to a good week.

Last two weeks of Bootcamp are going to have to be strict Bootcamp ones for me I think, after the last couple of weeks.

Good luck all

Fantastic, Stunt and Neko!
honestly all you LCers with young children/babies- I take my hat off to you. I'm sure I can only do this now because my kids are older. Memories of all those blinking birthday cakes and party food seemingly all the time.....and the physical exhaustion. I'm sure that was when I started drinking too much wine every evening. Life is still stressful with ill DH, and 3 teens - (two with major issues) but I'm at least now more able to make more time for me. Well done everyone with young DCs, you are all amazing! Thanks

ShebaQueen · 18/03/2016 12:58

Aw thanks BIWI. I've been following Bootcamp Light since June 2013 and it has transformed my life. Not just in terms of weight: I have more energy right through the day, I sleep better, my IBS, asthma, eczema and arthritis have disappeared, I don't get period pains any more, my skin is clear, my cholesterol is better, my allergies are almost non-existent (probably due to reduced inflammation), the list goes on and on. Most importantly my risk of diabetes is now virtually nil (my dad is diabetic). And best of all I get to eat yummy food without having to watch the calories.

EwanHoozami · 19/03/2016 08:18

Ooh you're doing a bootcamp! I'm LCing again after a few months in the mire so I'll hop on for the last lap if that's ok?

Stunt that is bloody brilliant, love seeing the graph.

EwanHoozami · 19/03/2016 08:33

I'm loving having all my favourite LC meals again, it's so easy to get back in to.

Breakfast is usually spinach omelette and lunch is cold meat and avocado but here are my dinners for the week so I can look back at this and keep myself on track

Slow cooker coconut & ginger pork shoulder
Smoked mackerel and roast veg salad
Lamb and cauliflower curry
Savoy chicken (thighs marinaded in paprika, lemon juice and mayo) & celeriac remoulade
Greek-style crustless quiche (spinach, feta, dill, oregano, black olives, pine nuts)
Corned beef hash made with swede, leek and gherkins

blackteaplease · 19/03/2016 12:36

I am off to a party tonight and won't be drinking due to breastfeeding. Normally I would drink coke but obviously that's not B.C..

Has anyone got any suggestions for LC alcohol free drinks other than water?

shouldiblowthewhistle · 19/03/2016 12:47

Stunt - that's so inspiring. I was on the verge of giving up yesterday but I'll keep on now.

You lost weight consistently - did you cheat at all, on BC Light? Ever in the 18 months or whatever it was?

Gcalgske · 19/03/2016 13:05

Food today:
Creamy coffee with 3 eggs scrambled in butter.
I'm still stuffed don't think lunch is going to happen.
Dinner will likely be roast chicken thigh with courgettie. Grin feeling determined. Flowers stunt you are a Star

shouldiblowthewhistle · 19/03/2016 15:19

Breakfast: Grilled asparagus + 2 egg omelette with cheese
Creamy coffee
Lunch/dinner: currently roasting chicken legs, sausages and vegetables (aubergine, courgette and cauliflower)

1.5L water today so far. Will tuck into a few more later.

BeyondTellsEveryoneRealFacts · 19/03/2016 15:25

Blacktea, my go-to drink for not drinking is sugar free bitter lemon. Not the most bc friendly due to the sweeteners, but still feels like a 'grown up' drink :)

B- smoothie with greek yog and raspberries, coffee with cream
L- omelette with cheese and mushrooms, 2x coffee with cream
D- will be indian takeaway, some sort of meat starter and creamy curry with cauli bhaji

lexloofah · 19/03/2016 17:42

went for a lovely wintery walk today, life is good even though I have had a reaction to some tablets I am taking and have a nasty, itchy rash on my back, just thankful it is not anywhere else!

B - courgettes, eggs, butter, 2 teas
L - full English in a pub minus the hash brown and toast, coffee w cream, sq dark choc, 2 strawberries
D - just about to have fillet steak, celeriac chips cabbage in butter and a bit of port sauce

StuntNun · 19/03/2016 18:41

BlackTea my non-alcoholic drink of choice is soda water with Oasis Mighty Drops Raspberry Lemonade and a slice of lime. The Oasis squash does contain sweeteners but you only use 2ml per 200ml of soda water so it isn't a huge quantity and it's definitely more LC than alcohol would be.

ShouldI I cheat all the time! I'm totally rubbish at sticking to the rules. BUT my cheats are usually having a sneaky roastie with my Sunday lunch or eating too many nuts or dark chocolate. Basically cheats that would be okay at maintenance but stall weight loss. I think it's a bit different in my case though because I successfully lost weight once before in 2013 following Bootcamp. So I KNOW this WOE works and I knew I would get to my target weight. If I had been more strict I would have got there sooner but I still got there in the end.

There is a mindset change when you have been following this WOE for a while. It was hard work initially making the adjustment from carbage to LCHF but now my tastes and habits are completely different. If I went to a friend's for dinner and they gave me pizza to eat I would happily eat it, probably enjoy it (and be extra LC the next day), but I don't pine for those kind of foods any more. They have become non-foods to me, if that makes sense. I remember going into Costa one time and looking at their array of buns and sandwiches and my immediate reaction was, There's nothing to eat here. I don't feel deprived at all, if I want to eat a cake or something else carby, then I can, I just don't most of the time.

When you're at maintenance it becomes a lot easier to maintain this WOE. I can have a slice of cake at a birthday party then just go back to eating LC. This is how 'naturally slim' people eat. They can have an indulgence or a feast without descending into overeating. I remember as a child staying at a guest house where dinner was seven courses. I loved it and ate loads, but when I got back home I went back to my usual way of eating.

BeyondTellsEveryoneRealFacts · 19/03/2016 19:06

Do i remember lchf being good for thrush? Since AB's it doesnt seem to fully go, even though i have treated...

shouldiblowthewhistle · 19/03/2016 19:33

Stunt I know what you mean about mindset shift. I did exactly that a few times this week - walked into some cafe or place that was full of carbage (great word!) and genuinely thought "Oh there's nothing to see here. Move on". I did crack Friday afternoon and eat some freshly made upside down pineapple cake at work. It had been a particularly stressful afternoon (i.e. physical violence etc) and I seemed to crave the sugar, even though I can go days without it even entering my mind.

I am seriously wondering about the connection between stress and difficulty losing weight though. I admit that I had Ethiopian food last weekend, and some pints of beer (around 4 all weekend) which knocked me back 5 lbs and have only lost 3 of those this week despite being strict until "The Incident" on Friday. I have super high levels of stress at work and I can't genuinely think of another reason why I'm still struggling to drop. As long as I don't have a lot of ongoing social situations (like guests all weekend last weekend) I can easily be super strict (BC) for weeks now. But my weight still hangs on my torso like a lingering fart. Your graph helps me to see the bigger picture and KOKO. But it a cheat weekend every month is going to bring be back to where I started, I do question whether even in 2 years I'll see weight loss of 3 stone (I have 5 to lose, well, just under now Grin).

AuntieMaggie · 19/03/2016 20:11

today I am craving an orange 😂 not any processed carby crap but an orange! I'd prefer a pink or red grapefruit but I can't have that because of my medication Sad I'm not going to gave the orange either but I just thought it interesting how my cravings have changed.

ewan your dinners look yummy especially the pork shoulder

Gcalgske · 19/03/2016 20:27

Beyond candida thrives on sugar, no sugar and it dies off!

Gcalgske · 19/03/2016 21:03

Biwi (or anyone else) do you know the carb/ fat/ protein values of the m&s ready meal you posted the pic of? I was going to get hubs to go to m&s for me tomorrow but wanted to check it was ok for my planned food (and he's rubbish at label reading) X
