SoF for you here

Hope you all have good results this morning, and here's to a good week.

Last two weeks of Bootcamp are going to have to be strict Bootcamp ones for me I think, after the last couple of weeks.

Good luck all

Well done for the sts and losers.
Can someone pop me in at 139lbs so sts. Thanks x

WhatDat · 14/03/2016 19:43

moan and fee I've added you

momofgirls · 14/03/2016 20:12

Can someone add 159.6 lb for the last week please seemingly slowly does it.
Still pleased with the losses so far.
Nice to read everyone posts

Patapouf · 14/03/2016 20:36

Can't believe there is only a fortnight to go. I've been majorly distracted with deadlines and other problems and have been eating nothing but carbs. Ultimately I sabotage myself and make excuses but I'm determined to get back into BC for the last couple of weeks and then BClite by myself until the next one (may??)

nekobus · 14/03/2016 21:23

My weigh-in was better than expected (0.8 lbs off) but I think that just means my weekend carbs have not caught up with me yet!

Well done on the losses, I'm determined to make these last 2 weeks work so good news stories always help with the motivation!

B - cheese and olives, tea with soya milk, coffee with cream
L - salmon, prawns, salad, dressing and mayo
D - salmon, asparagus, salad, dressing, mayo
S - babybel, crispy bacon strips
3L water

Gcalgske · 14/03/2016 23:06

Place marking. Need to catch up. Just been stupid busy and missed week eight chat thread altogether...

DrDiva · 15/03/2016 07:05

Morning. Quite proud that I have made it to week 9 (despite a few blips along the way) - I crashed and burned much earlier last time!

Just had the last of my LC granola with cream and have packed a salad with leftover roast beef for lunch.

knowclue · 15/03/2016 07:28

Well.
The bad news I'm up 1.5 lbs - makes me at 136.5 if someone could add me please? So disappointed but not surprised, knew I'd gone up as could see the daily difference (1.5 is the average!)
The good news is external issues have settled so am hoping to get back on the wagon; my target was 130 lbs by the end of BC so the odds aren't good but I'll give it a go, and for me it's three weeks left as I was a week late to join!
Good luck all Flowers

lexloofah · 15/03/2016 13:21

so day one of IF, will be doing 18:6 as we have dinner around 6pm then will wait until lunch next day unless I really need some thing around 10ish.

had a cup of tea with almond milk first thing though, hope that will be OK, I need to do some more reading on IF really

I would pick bacon day to start though, had to sit and watch everyone else gobble up their brek, I didn't mind that much though as not particularly hungry more so making it and not having any made me feel even more like a servant than I usually do!

B - tea with unsweetened almond milk then a rooibos with coconut oil
L - 2 lettuce and coleslaw wraps one with roast beef one with leftover lamb donner, cucumber, dill pickle, olives, piece of fudge that I made yesterday that was supposed to be truffles but I put a lot of coconut oil and walnuts in so better as fudge when I came to take it out of the dish
D - will be minced beef curry from recipe thread, cauli rice from the freezer, aubergine chunks in coconut oil, lc naan - still searching for the perfect recipe

NigellasGuest · 15/03/2016 14:47

Good luck with it Lex

I haven't really read up on IF, tbh. Just jumped straight in. There are lots of threads on MN about it though. I always start with coffee with a splash of double cream - hasn't done me any harm weightloss-wise, and if anything it's probably worse than almond milk so I'm sure you're fine!

My lunch was an omelette made with 2 eggs, butter, coconut oil and mushrooms. Then a square of dark choc.
Dinner- no plan yet.Your dinner looks fantastic! I am finding, though, that I can't eat much at dinner now I'm doing this, as my appetite has reduced ridiculously. I had better make sure I get enough vitamins etc.

StuntNun · 15/03/2016 15:57

Lex the rule of thumb is that you can have up to 50 calories during your fast.

BeyondTellsEveryoneRealFacts · 15/03/2016 16:35

Nearly through my second day back on the wagon. Still at the stage of having to think about everything i eat, its not second nature yet. This is where i struggle when i fall off the wagon as i just ram food in mindlessly!!

Koko...!

Gcalgske · 15/03/2016 17:00

Home made scratchings - my local Morrison's started selling pork skin again (if I want it from the butcher I need to order it in which is a faff)
85p for four bits the size pictured (about the size of a Swiss roll tin) star anise one is my favourite. Yum yum yum...

WhatDat · 15/03/2016 18:39

mom and know I've added you.

b: salmon, cream cheese and a hard boiled egg
l: roast chicken thighs with skin
d: chorizo, pork meatballs with courgette and tomato
(I need to up my veg/salad)

lexloofah · 15/03/2016 20:59

thanks nigella and stunt, glad I can at least have a cuppa. do you IF every day or a couple of times a week? not sure which is most effective

I need to reduce my portions too as not as hungry but still serving up and then eating what I think I will need but then stuffed halfway through even though we have moved onto the smallest plates we have (got rid of the big dinner plates from the bad old pile up the carbs days ages ago). thing is I can always find room for choccie though which is my downfall

gcal, oooh that looks and sounds lovely, good to see you back

feekerry · 15/03/2016 21:02

I will second the m and s new balanced for you dishes.
I chose the 3 lowest carb ones o could see, ranging from 6.9g carbs per dish to 10g of carbs. I have had 2 of them over last week and they are lovely. Just makes for a bit of a change... Had brocolli and courgette spaghetti with creamed chicken tonight. Was lovely. And massive!! 8.4g carbs for the whole lot xx

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 16/03/2016 00:52

Am having salads most days for lunch, and haven't wanted much in the evenings. But am not drinking enough water by a long shot :(

Haven't lost anything this week owing to choc-issues either :(
2 more weeks to go...

Gcalgske · 16/03/2016 10:21

Thanks lex, waves

I tend to go through long periods of IF but I think that's just my natural eating habits, usually even when eating carbage I'm not really hungry in the morning and would normally just eat out of habit.

Think the important bit is to listen to your body and eat if you are hungry. I'll not eat till 2pm (I normally do 18/6) for four weeks then wake up one day ravenous and have a huge fry up Grin

Yesterday I over indulged in the scratchings. Very yummy but felt too full at Pilates,

Creamy coffee
Small piece leftover rump steak sliced very thinly and topped with 1/4 shallot, 50g green pepper and handful mozzerella
2 LC sausages with buttered cauli
Lots of crackling with star anise salt (I say lots but was less than 100g just not used to snacking)

lexloofah · 16/03/2016 10:33

Thanks gcal will see how IF goes this week, today was a feel like a fry up day

Inspired by your mammoth crackling session I decided to be thrifty this morning and crackle the rind from the butchers bacon that we get, shame to throw it away so I put it in the oven while the bacon was cooking. Turned out great but woke the neighbours up as we have the worlds most sensitive heat and smoke alarm that is also linked the house alarm so the whole road knows when I am making crackling Smile

Gcalgske · 16/03/2016 10:46

Oops lex! Admittedly I did set the alarms off yesterday too Wink
Cue toddler running around screaming 'noisy, noisy, mummy noisy cooking stop it'

Neighbours must love us. Bacon rind would be good, added flavour.

StuntNun · 16/03/2016 10:59

Lex I'm breastfeeding at the moment so I can't IF. But normally I go by my hunger levels. If I'm hungry then I eat breakfast. If I'm peckish then I have a cup of tea and a big glass of water then see how I feel. If I'm not hungry then I aim for at least 14 hours fasting starting from whenever I last ate which could be anywhere between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. It's the length of the fast window that's most important for the health benefits.

nekobus · 16/03/2016 11:46

Nigella, can I ask what you make with your chia seeds? I bought some the other week but have only used them in lc lemon cake. I've looked online but there are so many recipes in not sure where to start! I tend to use soya milk as my go to low carb milk for tea - could I use that to make chia pudding?

lexloofah · 16/03/2016 12:57

Yep bacon rind scratching are delish!

Thanks stunt, will be good to actually be more mindful as to if I am hungry or not, I eat out of habit and boredom sometimes which is partly how I became overweight in the first place as well as being in the carb trap

B - bacon, eggs, courgette, butter, tea, milk
S- I didn't really need it but experimenting with LC hot cross buns for Easter, I used my Swedish bun recipe and added grated orange zest, mixed spice, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and half an apple between 5 buns, slathered in butter they weren't bad at all and will do for Good Friday
L - lettuce, hm Mayo, ham, cheese, pickle, olives, coleslaw, hm fudge
D - celeriac chips, green beans, butter and fish, somehow breaded and baked not fried, I don't think the neighbours could stand that ! gcal is a mix of almond meal, flax and cheese best for this after egging ? Ta

Crackling experts - please advise! I have a cold pork joint left over from Sunday - if I cut off the fat and bake it, will it turn into crackling? or will it not work because it's already been roasted? (I simply can't eat it as it is, even though it's already a bit crunchy).

Nekobus I know, I posted asking about how to use chia on an earlier thread as I was confused and they're so expensive I didn't want to make a mistake! I was reassured to know you can't really mess it up. The basic ratio of chia to liquid is 1:9 (or closer to 1:6 if you want it to set really thick which I do like). I got that information from here, which is a really useful resource:
www.ditchthecarbs.com/2014/06/04/low-carb-chia-breakfasts

what I do is to make an individual pudding in a ramekin, so that in my head I know that when it's finished that's it - no second helpings! And you have to make them a few hours in advance, so there's no quickly rustling up another one! I sprinkle chia seeds into the ramekin (I never measure it, but probably a level tablespoon give or take). then I add whatever I want to add: this could be a combination of 2 or 3 of the following: teaspoon of flaked almonds, teaspoon of high cocoa content cocoa powder, teaspoon of dessicated coconut, a few berries(blueberries, raspberries, blackberries for example), a splosh of double cream, whatever essence takes your fancy (I go for either almond or vanilla). THEN I add the milk (I use almond milk but I'm sure soya is fine? Not an expert)!
I have learnt to add the milk last, as adding everything else to a full or even under-full ramekin can cause overflowing and I want to make sure I get my chosen treats in there!
Tonight's pud is already waiting in the fridge for me Grin
