Morning all!

I see we have almost 90 brave souls signed up this time. Welcome everyone, and to the lurkers at the back.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

The list is alphabetised, and all you need to do is to add your weight next to your name. Don't do anything else or touch any of the other cells! If your name isn't on the list for any reason, add it to the bottom of everyone else's names, and the lovely Sayrra will re-alphabetise the list later.

If you don't want to put your actual weight, you can index it - i.e. your starting weight is 100, and every pound you lose is one. So if you started today at 160 lbs, and in the first week lost 7lbs, then next week you'd enter 93.

Also, don't feel that you have to weigh today - you might prefer to make another day of the week your weigh-in day. Up to you - but the spreadsheet is there as a resource to help you track how it's all going.

Re weighing, if you can, weigh first thing in the morning, naked, and before you eat or drink anything else. Don't weigh later on in the day, as all you're doing is weighing yourself plus whatever you've had to eat or drink. And use the same scales. Remember, it's not the actual weight that the scales tell you, more the weight that you've lost that counts.

Some people prefer to weigh every day - I'm one of them, as it helps to keep me focused - and some prefer to weigh once a week. It's up to you which you prefer. Bear in mind, though, that if you weigh every day you are very likely to see the scales fluctuate, which means that they may go up for no apparent reason. This is totally normal, as your weight can fluctuate on a daily basis (especially if your period is due). But psychologically it can be quite difficult - so if you don't think you'd be able to cope with this, then weekly weighing is for you.

I'm going to start a questions thread now as well. In the first few weeks of Bootcamp the chat thread can move very quickly, and it's easy for posts to get missed - so if you have a particular burning question, it's probably best to post it on the dedicated thread. And if we can all keep an eye on the questions thread, rather than just me, we can get everything answered quickly!

Food today:

Creamy coffee
Lunch at a carvery - beef, turkey and gammon, cauliflower/swede, 2 chicken wings (they were suspiciously crunchy - must have been dredged in flour despite being gf on the menu - grrrr!) was great but not enough fat :(
Dinner 2 egg omelette with tomato, ham, cheese and shallot.

sos1993 · 23/01/2016 20:13

I was never a fan of cream but now I can't get enough of it. I'm eating spoonfuls of thick cream straight from tub. Is this normal?

BIWI · 23/01/2016 20:24

sos1993 · 23/01/2016 21:20

Thank you BIWI - really good site. Signed up as well. All very interesting and positive. I agree fohamy12 - inspiring Smile

BippityBoppity · 23/01/2016 21:21

I didn't have any food in this morning and didn't plan very well at all, but did ok considering.

B - Pork Scratchings (literally the only lc things in the house)
L - Roast Beef slices from a deli in town
D - Tuna Mayo salad from subway.

The salad was lovely, lots of gherkins, jalapenos and olives but a bit more iceberg lettuce than I would have liked so it was probably a bit carbier than would be ideal. Not enough fat today I think, but I'm not hungry, so I've just taken a slug of double cream to get some fat into me. Seems like an odd complaint to have Smile

Patapouf · 23/01/2016 21:22

B: was a little weird today, I didn't wake up until 10 and then did some yoga and had a lot of tea. At 1ish I had some smoke paprika pulled pork with lettuce, shallot, cucumber and a tiny amount of tomato salad. Lots of salt and EVOO too.
L: egg muffin and a piece of cheddar.
D: lamb, coriander and courgette mega meatballs with salad.
3.5lt water

BIWI · 23/01/2016 21:44

Bippity - You would have had to eat tons of iceberg lettuce for it to have been too carby!!!

You're definitely not eating enough veg. Why didn't you have anything else with your lunch?

Tonight I had a treat dinner to distract myself from ongoing lack of booze - baked Camembert. I had celery and radishes with it (DH had crusty bread) and I feel so light and clean for it! I love bread but my digestive system really doesn't.

momofgirls · 23/01/2016 21:53

Week 1 day 6
Late having food went to watch husband park run & walk dogs.
B coffee with cream
L sausage, fried egg and mushrooms.
D prawn, mushroom, spring onion, Chinese leaf stir fry.
S baby bel x 2
Doing really well with water intake easier on a weekend.
Soon be end of week one and not feeling hungry.

fohamy12 · 23/01/2016 22:05

sos1993 I think it was inspiring because it proves that LCHF works, having been brought up with low fat low calorie diets, it is a bit a of a struggle to realise that high fat is the way to go. Also because it doesn't feel like 'diet food' ie deprivation, it feels too good to be true! I can't wait to make the TeX mex dish, the low carb pizza and the pesto chicken!Wink

BIWI · 23/01/2016 22:12

momofgirls Where is your breakfast?! You're not following Bootcamp rules if you're not eating 3 meals a day. This is really important to help get your blood sugar levels stabilised, which is what what helps to keep your appetite under control.

Hi - I meant to join this earlier - am I too late or can I join in now?

BIWI · 23/01/2016 22:24

Welcome, SocksRock! Just add your name to the bottom of the spreadsheet, and get stuck in Grin

SocksRock · 23/01/2016 22:27

Hokay! Sadly, I know exactly how much I weigh (far far far too much...)

BippityBoppity · 23/01/2016 22:34

Like I say, just poor planning on my part - I was due for an afternoon shift in work but was running late so just ate the meat while I was walking in (classy, I know). It was the only thing I could think of at the time.

Tomorrow will be much better - I'm already planning on having buttery leeks, cabbage and mushrooms with some steak. I'm going to sit down in the morning and do a proper meal plan for the week so I don't get caught out.

MumOnTheRunCatchingUp · 23/01/2016 22:36

Ive eaten loads today! Cheese, green pepper, roast beef trimmings, blue cheese, cucumber, mushrooms, steak, spinach, Greek yog and a whole head of broccoli!

And pork scratchings

Been rushed off my feet at work tho, not sat still! A 9 hour shift

BippityBoppity · 23/01/2016 22:38

I know that the iceberg isn't terrible really, but I just have it stuck in my head that spinach is half the carbs (and tastier) so I automatically go for that and when I don't have a choice, it feels wrong. Sounds daft, I know

ICJump · 23/01/2016 22:51

thumbwitch thanks for adding me.

I'll add the recipe to the recipe thread this arvo.

I'm feeling nervous about weighing myself tomorrow. I'm feeling lighter and my tummy doesn't feel bloated but having so much to lose looking at the scales is a bit un motivating.

I have plans for a play date early in the morning however so hopefully the outdoors and meeting a new friend will ride me over the grump

Equiem89 · 23/01/2016 22:52

bippity I've eaten loads of iceberg this week and lost 5lb :)

hefzi · 23/01/2016 23:09

ICJump I hear ya, sister! I'm not weighing until Monday, but I am praying to have lost - I'm still not totally sure I'm doing things right, so I guess if I've put on, I'll know I'm not Grin

I was looking for a recipe for portobello mushrooms yesterday, and found this site: it really spurred me on, because my start weight was similar to hers, but she's managed to lose 100lb in a year.

FelicityFunknickle · 24/01/2016 00:05

Thanks for the celeriac ideas BIWI and Melinda

FelicityFunknickle · 24/01/2016 00:15

B: bacon, mushrooms & eggs. Total ff yogurt. Coffee with cream
L: tin of mackrel (in oil) with vinegar and salt, cheesestring Blush (they're all gone now)
S: roast chicken (yummy crispy skin), lots of broccoli, marmite "gravy"
Party food: half a hard boiled egg. Truly chuffed with self!
Drinks: bpc, badoit, tap water herbal tea, coffee with cream

Too many coffees with cream I think and not enough veg.
I think i will make a fritata thingy with spinach and cheese so I have instant meals available with some veg in.
Need to do grocery shopping.
