Morning all!

I see we have almost 90 brave souls signed up this time. Welcome everyone, and to the lurkers at the back.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

The list is alphabetised, and all you need to do is to add your weight next to your name. Don't do anything else or touch any of the other cells! If your name isn't on the list for any reason, add it to the bottom of everyone else's names, and the lovely Sayrra will re-alphabetise the list later.

If you don't want to put your actual weight, you can index it - i.e. your starting weight is 100, and every pound you lose is one. So if you started today at 160 lbs, and in the first week lost 7lbs, then next week you'd enter 93.

Also, don't feel that you have to weigh today - you might prefer to make another day of the week your weigh-in day. Up to you - but the spreadsheet is there as a resource to help you track how it's all going.

Re weighing, if you can, weigh first thing in the morning, naked, and before you eat or drink anything else. Don't weigh later on in the day, as all you're doing is weighing yourself plus whatever you've had to eat or drink. And use the same scales. Remember, it's not the actual weight that the scales tell you, more the weight that you've lost that counts.

Some people prefer to weigh every day - I'm one of them, as it helps to keep me focused - and some prefer to weigh once a week. It's up to you which you prefer. Bear in mind, though, that if you weigh every day you are very likely to see the scales fluctuate, which means that they may go up for no apparent reason. This is totally normal, as your weight can fluctuate on a daily basis (especially if your period is due). But psychologically it can be quite difficult - so if you don't think you'd be able to cope with this, then weekly weighing is for you.

I'm going to start a questions thread now as well. In the first few weeks of Bootcamp the chat thread can move very quickly, and it's easy for posts to get missed - so if you have a particular burning question, it's probably best to post it on the dedicated thread. And if we can all keep an eye on the questions thread, rather than just me, we can get everything answered quickly!

So hi just found you all, I really need to get back to boot camping as I haven't done well over Christmas and the stress of moving house is giving me an excuse to reach for chocolate and it shouldn't. I need to find my discipline again. Can I join please even though I missed the beginning. Should I add my name to the spreadsheet?
Thanks

DartmoorDoughnut · 22/01/2016 20:21

milkmilklemonade12 · 22/01/2016 20:49

felicity and mustbemad I had salad and LC shepherds pie tonight, and I'm drinking tea now. I avoided the sweet aisle at Waitrose and just stormed down the veg aisle as fast as I possibly could!! Home and safe now.

Thank you for the encouragement. I'm not breaking today!!!

AuntieMaggie · 22/01/2016 20:51

Thanks fo Wink

ready I can't exercise as much as that but hopefully I can get a good loss this year. And I agree you're still a huge amount lighter than a year ago.

MumOnTheRunCatchingUp · 22/01/2016 20:58

I love how cinnamon sprinkled on top of Greek yogurt looks like a choclatey powdery topping.... Almost fooled myself

My nighttime trick is to go upstairs to my room ( 2 flights of stairs away from the kitchen). We have bought a tv so I go up as soon as cravings start and stay up there!

SayrraT · 22/01/2016 20:59

Wombat thank you so much for adding people to spreadsheet etc. I am so so busy at work just now, had a 14hr day plus 1hr drive each way and I'll have to be in 7 days a week, at least 10 hours a day until end of Feb. I do try to check spreadsheet but I don't have time to go through thread and do individual updates so I really appreciate it.

Not going to talk about food except to say it's not going well Sad luckily from now on OH will be home early and can make dinner. This week he was at work things until nearly midnight every night. We are also in the process of renovating our new house so not much time really to do anything else.

I had the dentist today and it felt amazing to sit and relax for 20 mins!

TrinityForce · 22/01/2016 21:24

b:coffee
l: leftover spicy beef 'chili' and crudites
d: fathead pizza with pepperoni

a little fed up of cauliflower now, not going to buy any in the shop tomorrow and see how I get on (week 3).

Steak and peppercorn sauce tomorrow! Can't wait. Hope everyone's getting on well

lavenderhoney · 22/01/2016 21:38

L- was an omelette with mushrooms
D- chicken with lettuce and advocado.

Loads of water and although I've perked up a bit today I feel dreadful again so going to bed.

momofgirls · 22/01/2016 22:04

Week 1 day 5
Made sure I had three meals today.
B salmon with cream cheese spread on top (leftover from yesterday) didn't have time to cook eggs.
L 2 boiled egg with salad & mayo.
T broccoli and cauliflower cheese with rump steak in a butter & mustard butter.

Drank water through day & had three coffee with cream.
Enjoying reading what people are eating. Need to get some Greek yogurt. What is Aldi Greek yogurt like.

Gcalgske · 22/01/2016 22:31

So sorry for all who are struggling, having been on and off LC for over 15 years now (you'd think I'd learn just to stick to it Hmm) I know I will have bad days but really it's not worth a cheat, I feel crap if I do.

Exercise helps, I do some stretches, have a hot drink, clean the loo. Distract yourself if it's just a craving but if it's hunger eat something fatty and indulgent... Parma ham, Brie, cream cheese and smoked salmon...

However if you do cheat don't beat yourself up endlessly.

I find that leads to a 'be as well hung for a sheep as a lamb' mentality that means one slip turns into a carb bender. Brush your self off, pop some fat in a hot drink and get back on the horse.

Sorry if I've missed anyone talking to me, the thread moves so fast x

DartmoorDoughnut · 22/01/2016 22:33

Good points Gcal that may have happened here! Onwards and upwards

Gcalgske · 22/01/2016 22:33

Food today
Coffee with cream
Left over chicken/ veggie kebabs
Cauliflower with lots of butter, grilled chicken in more butter.

Mmmmm butter.

VagueIdeas · 22/01/2016 22:36

DH has had pizza for dinner and is now eating Phish Food.

The bastard Grin

Gcalgske · 22/01/2016 22:40

momofgirls aldi Greek yoghurt is a bit disappointing in my opinion, quite runny and higher carb 5-6g /100g from memory. Total fage is lower and nice, Tesco finest do a full fat Greek which is lovely (around 4g/100g) but my favourite is lidl. It's cheap, comes in a big bucket and it's low in carbs (3. something?/100g)

Gcalgske · 22/01/2016 22:42

Brew Dartmoor X
vague mine is eating forbidden things and I want to throttle him. Angry

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 22/01/2016 23:45

My DH wanted to start LC with me, since he's put on weight round his belly too (not much but he's quite "fat phobic") but so far he's not managed. So far he's still eating pretty much the same, just trying to not eat or ask for chocolate. Which I suppose is a start Hmm

It's bloody hot here today. That helps because my appetite drops through the floor and I drink more. But doesn't help because I don't want to eat meals so breakfast is already out the window again.

I checked my fruit tea - there are no nutrition facts on it at all and it's from Croatia, not Russia. So I'm avoiding it.

BIWI · 22/01/2016 23:57

Felicity

Breakfast: BPC and two cold sausages (posh ones so I think LC)

You think? Why don't you know the carb count? That's really important, as the carb count of sausages can vary alarmingly!

Lunch: turkey and rocket with pesto and olive oil dressing

Is that all you're eating? Turkey is a very lean meat and there's not really much veg going on here

Snack: cheese string

Processed - what's wrong with ordinary cheddar?

Supper: 3 egg omlette with cheese and avocado. Total ff yogurt.

Lovely - but again, not much veg here!

You really do need to eat more veg and salad, and you really need to know the carb count of the foods you're eating. #

One other thing - if you have a headache, try and avoid Nurofen/ibuprofen, and have paracetamol instead. Ibuprofen can impede weight loss apparently

WhoTheFuckIsSimon

If you can see them, it's an indication that you're not drinking enough water!

Oh, and cauliflower rice is surprisingly nice. I resisted it for a long time, thinking it would taste strong, as cauliflower sometimes can - but it's lovely. I believe there are some recipes on the recipe thread for savoury rice/couscous using cauliflower.

Welcome Bippity and Suzy - the more the merrier!

Dartmoor Of course you can continue/stay - but you really have to ask yourself why you did that. Not only eating one, but eating seven? Why? Why would you sabotage yourself like that?

TrinityForce

b:coffee

Why no food? One of the first rules of Bootcamp is that we eat three meals a day

l: leftover spicy beef 'chili' and crudites
d: fathead pizza with pepperoni

Not much veg or salad going on here

a little fed up of cauliflower now, not going to buy any in the shop tomorrow and see how I get on (week 3).

Is that the only veg you've been eating? Of course you'll get sick of something if that's all you're eating! You really need variety, but also you really need to be eating more veg/salad

LavenderHoney

Where's your breakfast? Another one who isn't eating breakfast! It's really important that you eat breakfast, at least during the first two weeks of Bootcamp, as this will help get your blood sugar levels stable

So I wanted to add myself to the spread sheet but I can't work out how to add a new row. I figured it my be locked or something and didn't want to break it.

My starting weight is 262.7 if anyone can help that would be ace.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 23/01/2016 00:37

I'll add you, ICJ :)

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 23/01/2016 00:40

I've added you below the sums and averages because yes, it is locked so you can't add new rows.
