Morning all!

I see we have almost 90 brave souls signed up this time. Welcome everyone, and to the lurkers at the back.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

The list is alphabetised, and all you need to do is to add your weight next to your name. Don't do anything else or touch any of the other cells! If your name isn't on the list for any reason, add it to the bottom of everyone else's names, and the lovely Sayrra will re-alphabetise the list later.

If you don't want to put your actual weight, you can index it - i.e. your starting weight is 100, and every pound you lose is one. So if you started today at 160 lbs, and in the first week lost 7lbs, then next week you'd enter 93.

Also, don't feel that you have to weigh today - you might prefer to make another day of the week your weigh-in day. Up to you - but the spreadsheet is there as a resource to help you track how it's all going.

Re weighing, if you can, weigh first thing in the morning, naked, and before you eat or drink anything else. Don't weigh later on in the day, as all you're doing is weighing yourself plus whatever you've had to eat or drink. And use the same scales. Remember, it's not the actual weight that the scales tell you, more the weight that you've lost that counts.

Some people prefer to weigh every day - I'm one of them, as it helps to keep me focused - and some prefer to weigh once a week. It's up to you which you prefer. Bear in mind, though, that if you weigh every day you are very likely to see the scales fluctuate, which means that they may go up for no apparent reason. This is totally normal, as your weight can fluctuate on a daily basis (especially if your period is due). But psychologically it can be quite difficult - so if you don't think you'd be able to cope with this, then weekly weighing is for you.

I'm going to start a questions thread now as well. In the first few weeks of Bootcamp the chat thread can move very quickly, and it's easy for posts to get missed - so if you have a particular burning question, it's probably best to post it on the dedicated thread. And if we can all keep an eye on the questions thread, rather than just me, we can get everything answered quickly!

Oh and food time

B: Fried eggs with lovely feta (in oil with herbs) and a big salad mainly spinach and cucumber but a few slices of tomato and some shaved red onion. It was divine.

L: Last nights left over of creamy avo and chicken on zoodles (zuccini noodles) It's so delicious and the kids loved it. it's a great bootcamp one as it's lots of veggies and the cream is from blitzed avocardo and olive oil

I'll pop it on the recipe thread later

SayrraT · 23/01/2016 07:44

I'll sort spreadsheet today, I didn't realise it was locked.

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 23/01/2016 08:15

Morning :) breakfast here is an avo and a piece of very crispy fried bacon off on a little side note here, i'm rather annoyed that i havent been able to get my usual bacon this month Angry i assume its because of asdas 'new year, new you' promo, so they have to remove some stock lines in order to have room for all of their low fat shite.

Have a birthday night out tonight. Luckily (hahaha) ds1 has worms so we all need to take the meds (emergency trip to the doc last night as he was rolling round in pain :( ). And as they can affect the liver, its not a good idea to drink, especially as i dont want that to add to the liver affecting drugs i already take and kill me!!

FelicityFunknickle · 23/01/2016 08:15

Thanks BIWI
I will check labels more rigorously.
I don't even like cheese strings tbh, but I needed n emergency snack.
Turkey was dark meat (using freezer leftovers from Christmas) and dressed in oil.
Yes I really felt the need for more feg today but no spinach Sad and cba to steam kale last night.
Planning is key I think.
Thanks for the advice.

I really struggle with water as when at work I can't get to a loo often. Tiresome. Anyone have any ideas?

milkmilk well done. Yesterday was tough.

BIWI · 23/01/2016 08:17

Hmm. Rather a drastic way to stop yourself drinking!!!

My cooker's working again, so we had the blue cheese burgers and swede chips last night - but with broccoli (with butter) done in the microwave - I'm going to do more veg in the microwave from now on (thanks to your tips!). I can feel I'm in ketosis now (largely due to funny taste in my mouth), and am drinking lots of water. I know it takes a bit of time to get sorted when you're not used to it but I am really loving the food. Babybells are next on my shopping list!

FelicityFunknickle · 23/01/2016 08:54

Oh blue cheese burgers sound great.

We are going to a family birthday party this evening. Lots of tempting carbs, including the cake I am working on Angry
I plan on drinking fizzy water and just not eating.
I will drive, no drinking, have a roast chicken and green veg lunch and a bpc before I go Grin
Actually quite relish the challenge tbh.

mustbemad71 · 23/01/2016 09:32

Icjump yy to recipe for your chicken and avo zoodles pls!

Woken up feeling v positive this morning - this WOE really doesn't feel like a diet and for the first time ever I am hoping to step off the yo-yo cycle of losing and regaining the same stone plus a few more pounds each time. I stayed at around 9 st 10 a few years ago for almost 18 months and I'm desperate to get back into all my lovely thin clothes!

Feeling bloated this morn and suspect too much cheese was consumed yesterday plus giant steak last night isn't helping.

B: eggs avo spinach
L: going out - will be fish and salad wrap without the wrap as going to seaside.
D: need inspiration from recipe thread!

Have a great day everyone - the sun is shining here - we can do this! BC is so motivating - what a fantastic thread thanks again BIWI and co. It is so generous of you to give up so much time for effectively a bunch of strangers! Thanks

GlitteryShoes · 23/01/2016 09:53

So happy! Weighed myself today after starting on Tuesday and am 4 lb down. I boot camped about 18 months ago and lost 2 1/2 stone, so was worried about the 'golden shot' but my body seems to have got right back into it.

One tip I have from last time is using flavoured coffee in a bpc. Choc truffle coffee ( instant or ground) with butter and coconut oil is divine. Beanies is a safe, carb free brand.

ShebaQueen · 23/01/2016 09:55

Morning all, night out for me last night but I stayed on plan and I had a great time! As BIWI mentioned earlier in the thread, I find most restaurants are more than happy to accommodate requests for "swaps" and also to provide oil and butter on the side. I find being away for work the most difficult.

Slept late this morning, just off to make an omelette and use up various bits of veg from the fridge, then glugging some water then going to supermarket to stock up for the week. Spotted someone mentioned cauliflower rice upthread, I have that often and love it, why had I never thought of egg fried? Might have to have that tonight!

Have a good weekend everyone.

SayrraT · 23/01/2016 10:42

Added more rows to spreadsheet.

sos1993 · 23/01/2016 11:13

b: total yoghurt with grated vanilla from Dr Oetker grinder.
L: tuna in oil, Mayo, lettuce
D: steak and veg/or salad

I had milk accidentally in tea this morning (very busy) and didn't realise until I went for a refill - Do I need to start Day one again or is a blip in boot camp okay?

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 23/01/2016 11:42

I'm down another lb this morning, btw. I've never had a bc like this before, i usually lose sooo slooowly!! :) :)

recyclingbag · 23/01/2016 11:48

I'm only 2 days in but feeling positive.

Had yoghurt for breakfast and will have scrambled eggs & tuna for lunch.

Drinking plenty of fruit tea but allowing myself one cup of tea in the morning.

DS1 has made chocolate rice krispie cakes. Angry

RomiiRoo · 23/01/2016 12:10

This is random, but I wanted to say that if the scales are dejecting you because you don't see movement (and some people don't for a while), then use a tape measure weekly instead. Particularly if you are a long term BCer, then I found I might get a shift in measurement when weight loss was stubborn. And when I started BC, I didn't have scales for 7 weeks at least, so no idea what my starting weight was.

Over time, you work out what works for you, and what your weight loss will look like - some people have whooshes early on; other people slog onwards with incremental change etc. But for me, the benefits go beyond weight loss - my skin is better than in my whole life, and I really like the feeling of actually being able to follow a way of eating and know that my weight will remain steady.

The fact that it started upwards in early January should have been a massive red flag to me that I was starting to slide in my mood and respond to food emotionally - and it was, quite simply because last time i did that (pre-BC) I put on three stone, and I am NOT doing that again.

Ready, you lost a lot of weight for your wedding - I guess the questions would be - did you lose too much for your natural/comfortable weight (in other words, that you can maintain without feeling deprived) and if not, was the wedding an external goal rather than weight loss being motivated by what is right for you? That is the key distinction I think of for me. I would always see weight loss as about being a healthy weight (there is a wide range of what is a healthy BMI) and achievable without deprivation.

VagueIdeas · 23/01/2016 12:29

I don't think a splash of milk in tea even counts as a blip, sos. Yes, milk is quite carby but the actual quantity of carbs in a splash of milk is still tiny. I would avoid having lots of cups of tea and/or drinking glasses of milk though Smile

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 23/01/2016 12:38

Lunch is leftover chicken stirfry thing from yesterday, dinner will be cheese and mushroom omelette

TrinityForce · 23/01/2016 13:08

I do struggle getting lots of veg in, anything you're particularly enjoying at the minute?

LexLoofah · 23/01/2016 13:21

sos one cup of tea with milk is fine, I try to limit myself to one a day, not too milky and have either herbal or earl grey with unsweetened almond milk after that. I love rooibos with coconut oil.

wise words from gcal and romii

B - broccoli stalk and cheddar omelette
L - bits and pieces from the fridge standing up in the kitchen as DCs have friends round and apparently it is uncool for me to eat with them! LC cracker drenched in butter, celery stalks stuffed with butter & boursin, slice of ham, slice of jarlsberg spread with butter, cucumber
D - leftover lamb meatballs & courgetti with parmesan

VagueIdeas · 23/01/2016 13:23

Trinity - salad leaves with omelettes/tuna mayo. I sometimes have courgette slices fried in butter with those small flavoured tons of tuna you can get in Asda/Sainsburys (chilli and garlic is nice). Swede mashed with butter mixed with sautéed leeks. Roasted celeriac. Wilted spinach. Lots of options!

DrDiva · 23/01/2016 14:42

Lunch was asparagus and broccoli cooked with bacon and cream cheese
Has been tough trying to lc when DH quite anti. Had A Word today and he is now entirely on board. I can be very persuasive when o really want! Grin

FelicityFunknickle · 23/01/2016 14:45

Trinity
Recently eating:
Kale
Spinach
Rocket
Courgettes
Broccoli
And just bought a lump of celeriac. Not sure what to do with it tbh. I've only ever mashed it with horseradish and creme fraiche before. Is that ok?

FelicityFunknickle · 23/01/2016 14:45

Dr knows best Smile

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 23/01/2016 14:53

DH keeps joking that i am working for Big Fat Grin

Equiem89 · 23/01/2016 15:05

I've bought some pork belly slices for dinner. I would rather cook them in the oven than grill or fry them (less mess!) any ideas on what oven temperature, fan oven, and how long for
Thanks Smile
