Morning all!

I see we have almost 90 brave souls signed up this time. Welcome everyone, and to the lurkers at the back.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

The list is alphabetised, and all you need to do is to add your weight next to your name. Don't do anything else or touch any of the other cells! If your name isn't on the list for any reason, add it to the bottom of everyone else's names, and the lovely Sayrra will re-alphabetise the list later.

If you don't want to put your actual weight, you can index it - i.e. your starting weight is 100, and every pound you lose is one. So if you started today at 160 lbs, and in the first week lost 7lbs, then next week you'd enter 93.

Also, don't feel that you have to weigh today - you might prefer to make another day of the week your weigh-in day. Up to you - but the spreadsheet is there as a resource to help you track how it's all going.

Re weighing, if you can, weigh first thing in the morning, naked, and before you eat or drink anything else. Don't weigh later on in the day, as all you're doing is weighing yourself plus whatever you've had to eat or drink. And use the same scales. Remember, it's not the actual weight that the scales tell you, more the weight that you've lost that counts.

Some people prefer to weigh every day - I'm one of them, as it helps to keep me focused - and some prefer to weigh once a week. It's up to you which you prefer. Bear in mind, though, that if you weigh every day you are very likely to see the scales fluctuate, which means that they may go up for no apparent reason. This is totally normal, as your weight can fluctuate on a daily basis (especially if your period is due). But psychologically it can be quite difficult - so if you don't think you'd be able to cope with this, then weekly weighing is for you.

I'm going to start a questions thread now as well. In the first few weeks of Bootcamp the chat thread can move very quickly, and it's easy for posts to get missed - so if you have a particular burning question, it's probably best to post it on the dedicated thread. And if we can all keep an eye on the questions thread, rather than just me, we can get everything answered quickly!

Almond milk is allowed, on it not making a good latte I would challenge. With the judicious application of coconut oil and/ or butter it rocks Wink

blackteaplease · 22/01/2016 12:10

DartmoorDoughnut - you don't need liquid in a slow cooker if you have fatty meat, the liquid in the meat will do the trick. Gammon is particularly nice

feekerry · 22/01/2016 12:24

Oh Ye the baby bell thing is good!x

HammerToFall · 22/01/2016 12:30

So far so good today, had a sneaky weigh in this morning and five pounds off!!
Today's food

B- bacon mushroom omelette
L - pulled ham hock, baby bel radish and few scratching so
D- will be belly pork and salad

BIWI · 22/01/2016 13:22

ami sorry you're having a hard time, but well done for staying on track!

One thing though - have you checked the carbs in your protein shake? And also, what about the other ingredients? Does it contain artificial sweeteners?

Have you lot caused a national shortage of courgettes?? I'm armed with my brand new spiriliser ready to make courgetti but no!! There are none to be found! Grin

Very happy to say I've weighed, and in the 5 days of low carbing I've lost 6lbs!!

The weekend stretches ahead but I'm working so no temptation there. I've prepared and got food ready to take in. I make and mix paint for a living so I'm usually covered in the stuff so can't snack

MumOnTheRunCatchingUp · 22/01/2016 13:37

hammer I've made similiar and portioned into bags and stuck in the freezer. Yum

DartmoorDoughnut · 22/01/2016 13:45

Thanks blacktea

LexLoofah · 22/01/2016 13:47

B - full English at a farm shop café, lovely lovely lovely - left the baked beans and toast and spread the butter on my poached eggs but did have a pot of tea so more milk than usual s so will have herbal for the rest of the day
L - not that hungry so just had avo mashed with olive oil, lemon juice and some air dried ham
D - will be cauli rice egg fried rice using leftover 5 spice ribs, broccoli, ginger, shallots, spring onion and soy sauce oh and of course eggs

antimatter · 22/01/2016 14:23

I joined quietly but with great optimism as I know your threads are very supportive.
I usually have eggs in a cup for breakfast at work (I boil them in the morning so they are still warm when I am adding butter).

Lunch today was minced beef fried in olive oil + shallots + some Worcestershire and Soya sauce and steamed broccoli (left over from dinner).

Yesterday- red pepper + shallots + mushrooms cooked with coconut oil + left over eggs from breakfast

Is there a limit to how many eggs to have? They are low carb, portable and I love them!

I usually have coffee at work and today treated myself to 2 big bottles of Badoit sparkling water

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 22/01/2016 14:28

My weird bc period has arrived! Silly hormones Grin

PalmerViolet · 22/01/2016 14:44

I've only just been linked to this thread.. is it too late to join in?

Ok if it is, I'll just go it alone

Smile
NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 22/01/2016 15:16

Long term LC's, do you have good wooshes in BC anymore? My sneaky weigh in was only half a pound after 5 days of proper BC. I feel fine on it and am not that worried but was just interested. (Got loads left to lose- not near goal and not Totm)

ami9 · 22/01/2016 15:59

Thank You BIWI for this bootcamp and all your support. My serving had 2 gms carbs and just read ingredients it does have sweetner towards end of the list. I will not have anymore until in next phase. Thank you for pointing this out x

Patapouf · 22/01/2016 16:08

palmer you can add your weight to the spreadsheet, it's not too late to start Smile

Me too beyond!
If I haven't lost much I won't be too discouraged because I always go up 5lbs during TOTM plus I've been semi BCing for a few weeks so I can hardly expect a spectacular whoosh.

B: scrambled egg with butter & small macchiato with soy milk.
L: nothing yet, I'm visiting a relative and they have nothing remotely BC in. I'm starving so I'll probably have some tuna and lettuce wraps when I get home.
D: will be roast pork with crackling plus kale and swede mash.

2lt water done, I drank too much at once and I'm all sloshy. I can't recall how much I'm supposed to drink per day, is I 3litres BIWI?

BIWI · 22/01/2016 16:20

Patapouf - go to the spreadsheet and look at the rules - under the rule about water there's a table showing how much you need to drink; the amount depends on your weight.

NaturalBlond - there is a theory that you have one 'Golden Shot' at low carbing, which is where you see a big initial loss. I'm not really sure if that's true, but I've read about it a lot! Don't be disheartened though, as you haven't completed a full week yet - and as long as the scales are going down, then that's all that we want, isn't it?!

Welcome, antimatter! You can have as many eggs as you want - just don't overdo it so that you make yourself sick of the sight of them Grin

Welcome PalmerViolet!

ami - you're welcome! Although I fear you (and many others) may soon be sick of me pointing things out GrinGrin

Today I was in a food court with DD, annoyed that I couldn't have a McDonalds double cheeseburger for £1.99 and had to spend a fortune in Nandos instead (as much as I like Nandos, it IS pricey). Anyway, they've started doing chicken drumsticks, three for £4.35. Really nicely cooked; meat falling off the bone. Had that with a regular salad and an improvised vinaigrette of EVOO and malt vinegar because it was all they had Grin Thumbs up!

Also got on the scales this morning and I'm 2.8lbs down, so pleased with that.

BIWI · 22/01/2016 16:28

Fab!

I'm going to be even more hacked off over not being able to have any Friday night wine though. Must. Stay. Strong Wine

Patapouf · 22/01/2016 16:43

Thanks BIWI! Being able to drink less water a day is motivation in itself to lose weight.

I'll probably do another 1.5 lt of water and go for a couple of herbal teas this evening. I bought twinings cherry bakewell tea bags that I suspect will be a massive disappointment earlier in Waitrose.

milkmilklemonade12 · 22/01/2016 16:53

I really want to bloody cheat tonight. I want pizza, chocolate and Pringles Sad I'm due on and I'm sad.

Talk me out of this, I'm really really wobbling Sad

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 22/01/2016 17:09

What have you got in that you could create a snack from, milk?

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 22/01/2016 17:11

I have the salted caramel twinings in my basket atm, seen it recommended a few times. Failing that, i'm still in love with liquorice tea :)

YesEinsteinsMumDid · 22/01/2016 17:20

In an attempt to stave off the pickiness I have endulged in one of my favourite activities. I am currently pattern designing/making and cutting out. Still hungry but that would be because instead of picking I am now so focused on what I am doing I am forgetting to eat. Doh Hmm

Wombatinabathhat · 22/01/2016 17:20

C'mon milkmilk
It's only 2 weeks then you can have some treats. The first week is nearly done. Have a look at the recipe for meatza. I read that it tastes like real pizza. You could try it tomorrow with some fizzy water. Hang on in there Grin
