Morning all!

I see we have almost 90 brave souls signed up this time. Welcome everyone, and to the lurkers at the back.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

The list is alphabetised, and all you need to do is to add your weight next to your name. Don't do anything else or touch any of the other cells! If your name isn't on the list for any reason, add it to the bottom of everyone else's names, and the lovely Sayrra will re-alphabetise the list later.

If you don't want to put your actual weight, you can index it - i.e. your starting weight is 100, and every pound you lose is one. So if you started today at 160 lbs, and in the first week lost 7lbs, then next week you'd enter 93.

Also, don't feel that you have to weigh today - you might prefer to make another day of the week your weigh-in day. Up to you - but the spreadsheet is there as a resource to help you track how it's all going.

Re weighing, if you can, weigh first thing in the morning, naked, and before you eat or drink anything else. Don't weigh later on in the day, as all you're doing is weighing yourself plus whatever you've had to eat or drink. And use the same scales. Remember, it's not the actual weight that the scales tell you, more the weight that you've lost that counts.

Some people prefer to weigh every day - I'm one of them, as it helps to keep me focused - and some prefer to weigh once a week. It's up to you which you prefer. Bear in mind, though, that if you weigh every day you are very likely to see the scales fluctuate, which means that they may go up for no apparent reason. This is totally normal, as your weight can fluctuate on a daily basis (especially if your period is due). But psychologically it can be quite difficult - so if you don't think you'd be able to cope with this, then weekly weighing is for you.

I'm going to start a questions thread now as well. In the first few weeks of Bootcamp the chat thread can move very quickly, and it's easy for posts to get missed - so if you have a particular burning question, it's probably best to post it on the dedicated thread. And if we can all keep an eye on the questions thread, rather than just me, we can get everything answered quickly!

Jerm get a silicon muffin pan, I make six mini ones (from 2 baby bel/ cheddar) they are great!!

Jerm123 · 21/01/2016 23:49

Gcal, it should be turning up tomorrow 😍😍 I've fallen in love with them.

readyforno2 · 22/01/2016 00:22

Thanks fo, you are right. I'm just so angry with myself. Something to learn from I suppose.

Equiem89 · 22/01/2016 06:59

Morning everyone, another half a pound lost this morning Grin my body obviously loves low carbing, don't know why I put rubbish in it as it obviously doesn't like it

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 22/01/2016 07:14

I'm down another 1.9 (tmi - had my weekly poo Blush )

Breakfast today is 2 scrambled eggs in butter and fried mushrooms. Black coffee. Not having cream so far this bc is making a huge difference. The trouble i have with cream is trying to use it before it goes off! So i end up having more than i really want. So this time (as i have a beach holiday almost directly after bc) i'll only be getting cream when planning to make something like dauphinoise

FelicityFunknickle · 22/01/2016 07:38

I don't feel any thinner Sad

BIWI · 22/01/2016 07:41

Felicity - stop the negative thinking!

We are only on day 5.

As I said in an earlier post, whilst people are posting about their losses, there are more who aren't!

And many who haven't weighed yet AS ITS NOT THE END IF THE WEEK!

Please, everyone, be realistic in your expectations.

I am in AWE (and a tad Envy )of people who make lovely breakfasts. How on earth do you do it? I'm up at 6 (we leave just before 7) and despite putting everything ready the night before, and making lunches etc, I'm still running round like a numpty with a wide-awake and excitable toddler hanging off me.
I am going to try an make some egg muffins this weekend. With asparagus, prosciutto and Parmesan. I have visions of me then sitting regally on my train, breakfasting sumptuously and without constant demands to share

sos1993 · 22/01/2016 08:37

Today's plan.
B: 2 eggs microwaved in cup with butter.
L: left over chicken and salad plenty oil and vinegar in dressing
D: pork chops cauliflower, creamed spinach
S: celery sticks and cream cheese

Yesterday's meal plan worked for me so salad and meat at lunchtime and meat and veg for dinner means I won't have to plan too much or even think about it too much which I likeSmile

mustbemad71 · 22/01/2016 08:52

Determined not to cheat this weekend! Just had eggs, avo and spinach for breakkie. Will have tuna mayo salad for lunch and steak with Celeriac chips and veggies tonight.

I'm going to get a bottle of fizzy water and lemon and view that and the fillet steak as my treat instead of wine and cheesecake - the usual Friday night indulgence!

Went to Zizzs last night and opted for the super good salad with goats cheese and chicken - left out the green lentils as I knew they were carby but did have some of the butternut squash - 12g per 100g of carbs so against the 3g rule but hardly had much so hoping I'm still fat adapting!

Have a great day everyone! Grin

DartmoorDoughnut · 22/01/2016 08:57

Yesterday was great had lots of water and meals were:
B-omelette with a bit of cheddar
L-tuna Mayo with spring onions and eaten on little gem
D-meatballs with buttered leeks and a tinned tomatoes/shallot sauce
S-two microwaved babybels

Then 9:45 I'd had two wake ups already and DH had left me half a bounty, well reader I ate it

lavenderhoney · 22/01/2016 09:07

Feel marginally better, but there was no way I could have done my morning Pilates. Ds woke me up this morning, and was surprised to find me in bed and not dressed and dashing about.

How long does carb flu last? And when will I get the burst of energy? Does this mean I'll finally clear out the understairs cupboard?:)

Just had my first coffee with cream, it's delicious! How much cream can you have in a day?!

Weight loss is down again, even with my Friday night blip where I had 5 smarties! But in hindsight that was hormones. Got my period this week and I didn't crave anything but I kept looking at bread, but I didn't want it if that makes sense?! Also noticed that weight went up slightly so I had a mega strict day yesterday and scales were good to me this morning! Need to post weight but will do when on my laptop (can't remember mn password to log in Confused)

For anyone struggling, keep going, take it a day at a time. I feel so good and I've lost about nine pounds since 4th jan, treat each day as a new start. Lecture over. It was more for my benefit anyway. Grin

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 22/01/2016 09:46

Just read back and seen BIWI's swinging the big stick, which is fair enough - I have also to confess badness but because was out at a hotel last night.
I did my best to stick to low carb in the meal, didn't eat the spuds (had grilled salmon with salad and roast veg), didn't have dessert BUT meal out with 3yo = very stressful so did have 2 glasses of wine. AND not enough water yesterday because out.

Today - scrambled eggs for breakfast at hotel - bit leathery but tasted ok
lunch was babybel cheeses (out on the road at the time)
dinner was 2 lambchops, beans, and cauliflower mash, which I added ~50g solid cream cheese to, to give it some body - MUCH nicer than on its own (too watery on its own, even when steamed not boiled). And a glass of schnapps + sparkling water (about 10ml schnapps to 200ml water)

Back onto it tomorrow with a vengeance.

Hi, i didnt get a chance to log in my food for yesterday. My DD has been poorly since monday and up at nights. Due to work and my DS school run not been able to get much rest. Now im an emotional eater and whenever i am not getting my sleep or stressed I raid the fridge. My car brokedown too also have to be admitted in hospital for 2 days. Carbs sugar u name it i will have it .. long story short I have REALLY felt the low carb flu however with all ur lovely people support I pushed through. The carb flu has gone but I am really tired because of my kids being ill in turns and I have not cheated at all. Every morning i feel abit more stronger for not caving in my cravings. Its becoming easier so for anyone who is struggling hang in there it will get better😊 if i can do it anyone can.
Breakfast was 2 eggs with tea and cheese string
Lunch tuna mayo salad homemade
Dinner was chicken soup with veg and butter
1 protein shake after workout and another cup of tea at night when was up with my ds. Today will be the same as not cooking today.

Disco I love coffee with cream. I used to be a latte girl, but this is even better. I put a good amount in, I am guessing about 30mls, and restrict myself to 2 a day. They are also very filling.
I have to do a job at work today that I have been putting off for the last week, lots of paperwork involved, so I will get stressed. I WILL NOT use this as an excuse to go off piste though.
Then, I have to do my bloody tax return this weekend. Usually this involves wine to help the process along, but I WILL be strong.
Sorry for the shouting, but it's me I am shouting at! Pep talk over Grin
Today, I will be eating:
B - coffee with cream x2
L - muffins again with green salad. Does anyone know if I can freeze these as having them 4 days in a row was probably a bit much. I would like to freeze some next time I do a batch.
D - LC sausages with roasted veg and mozzarella melted over the top
S - ?babybels and spicy chai latte.

VikingLady · 22/01/2016 10:07

In case anyone was wondering, almond milk (unsweetened, virtually carb free) does NOT make a good latte. Good in tea though, and lower carb than milk.

Being dairy free is making this more of a challenge than last time I did it - I can't just fall back on a chunk of cheese, or cream cheese wrapped in ham then lettuce (a favourite last time). The staff on our market stall are wondering how I'm getting through so many ham scraps and chicken legs Grin

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 22/01/2016 10:08

Viking - are you allowed it in the first 2 weeks though, being as how it's from nuts?

VikingLady · 22/01/2016 10:10

I do have an easy slow cooker recipe though! A pork joint, the fattier the better, arranged with the fat/skin on top (otherwise you need to baste) and jerk seasoning dredged over it. Cook on low all day and then makes truly lovely pulled pork with no effort.

And lamb with a jar of value mint sauce poured over it, cooked the same way. Value mint sauce because the vinegar helps cut through the fat. Lovely!

ChesterDrawers · 22/01/2016 10:14

Just back from a very soggy dog walk but glad that my hip is feeling a bit better. No chance for gyming over the weekend so hopefully it will be better by Monday so I can excercise again. Not eaten yet but will do so shortly.

Today's plan:
Brunch: scrambled eggs, bacon, mushrooms in butter - drool!
D: steak, mushrooms in creamy garlic sauce, roast asparagus, roast swede cubes in garlic and rosemary olive oil

Might have a BPC this aft if I get peckish too.

DartmoorDoughnut · 22/01/2016 10:47

Viking I'm a new slow cooker owner, I want to do the lamb but as I'm wobbly could you give me a few more details?! I thought you had to put lots of water/sauce in?!

HammerToFall · 22/01/2016 11:25

For those struggling with time to make breakfast, I've been making one of these and keeping it j. The fridge and cutting a slice off in a morning. It's basically a pastry less quince and I use a cake tin liner. I've been putting in a packet of bacon, mushrooms and ten eggs. It lasts me about five days.

Week 1 - 2016 New Year Low Carb Bootcamp - weigh in here!
BeyondBootcampsAgain · 22/01/2016 11:26

So lunch is a sort of chicken stir fry thing. Chicken breast (but i ate the skin separately), shallot, garlic, fried in coconut oil. Then added spinach, courgetti, lime juice and ginger. Smells okay :)
