Thanks Wombat, I've just signed up too.
I've been lurking on the 34" waist thread in AIBU.
I feel a bit despondent because I am most certainly an apple shape (way back when, I had a"boyish" figure and I think these tend to morph into Apples with age and overeating).
No matter what I do, I CANNOT reduce my waistline in any significant way and it seems I'm doomed to diabetes and heart disease
despite being a size 10/12 (which in itself means not a lot).
If I exercise like a demon, I just get even slimmer and more toned thighs.
I've googled "apple shape" and it would appear that wait for it, the LC WOE is ideal for apples. But exercise wise, it seems that the amount of cardio and more importantly resistance work I would have to do, would be unsustainable for me.
Would really going for it (doing the shred etc.) for say 6 weeks and seeing if it works, and then cutting back the exercise again to my normal amount (ie. briskly walking the dog up hill and down dale for 45 minutes a day) be a good idea? I don't think I could keep up the amount of exercise required as a longterm thing, I'm just being realistic here.
sorry for long essay but do any of you LC exercise experts have any advice or am I better off simply embracing my inner (and outer) Apple?
NB. LC WOE enables me to lose weight and drop dress sizes, but it still leaves me with the waist measurement that suggests I'm unhealthy
