Greetings from a wet and soggy Sydney! It is at least hot, but I would like it more if the sun was shining!

So far, so good. We landed just before 7am yesterday, and I got to around 10pm without a nap/snooze. Slept well until around 4.45am, then managed to go back to sleep until 6.30 ish and got up at 7, as I thought it would be good to get back into the routine as soon as I could.

Feel fine so far.

Welcome back BIWI, really need the new BC as I am doing a super job of maintaining but not so much of the losing.

Ate at La Tasca yesterday, surprisingly good for LC. Sure there were probably some hidden carbs but I did the best I could. Been a bit slack over the weekend, too much wine in revbellion against Dry January so need to focus this week.

Today:

B: eggs, butter, cheese
L: smoked salmon sandwich filler (M&S), salad, olive oil, crispy bacon strips
D: Roast pork, swede chips, broccoli, asparagus

B: scrambled egg made with 2 eggs, butter and coconut oil. (the coconut oil makes it incredibly light and fluffy and NO taste of coconut).

L: LC moussaka (leftovers)

D: TBC

Lots of fizzy water.
2 x coffees so far,with double cream.

I weighed this morning and was the same as last week, however, a mid week weigh in showed I'd lost a pound but it went back on as I fell off over the weekend.

Back on today
B: Ham with mayo
L: Chicken/courgette/aubergine curry
D: Pork chop, sausage and fried egg
S: Pork scratchings

Weighed today and I am a pound off my pre Christmas weight, whoop! Hope to be back on track by the time bootcamp starts. Want to lose at least another stone before summer comes.

B = greek yoghurt, coffee & cream
L = roast chicken legs with salad and mayo
D = will be hm burgers with melted cheese, spinach and brocolli

I'm really going for it on the water too

To my suprise Monday weigh in showed I've lost 1 1/2lbs but was so pleased ai treated myself to a Starbucks coconut latte thinking it was lo carb - button its 7g Shock

B - omelette bacon tomato mushrooms
L - chicken kebabs
D - chicken & cabbage stir fry.

2.5 l water so far ..

Doing better with the water. KOKO Chester - I thought I was STS as my BC lite has been a bit heavy on the nuts & dark chic so this loss has been a real boost.

A stone by summer is a good goal. What date in August is summer? Grin

Morning folks,

I've signed up for the free trial of Stunt's weightloss app and have to say I'm impressed so far. Pretty sure I wont be able to justify paying for the full version but I am interested to see what it offers me this week, at least.

Today's plan:
B: eggs, butter
L: tuna, avocado, salad, olive oil
D: steak, mushrooms in garlic butter, swede chips, roast broccoli

Back on the wagon yesterday:

B - 2 poached eggs
L - mozzarella ball cut up and mixed with a large teaspoon of green pesto, a chopped tomato and a handful of rocket, dressed with oil/vinegar
D - fillet steak, marinated in olive oil/lemon juice before frying, courgettes fried with red pepper and green chilli and mushrooms fried in butter with chopped shallot, garlic and a large tablespoon of full fat yoghurt

Didn't quite drink enough water, and definitely had too much coffee!

Today:

B - 2 boiled eggs
L - roasted chicken thighs, which I coated in a mix of Chinese 5 spice powder, ground cumin, ground coriander, chilli flakes and dried oregano, with olive oil, served with a rocket salad (and two sneaky slices of pickled beetroot - a bit of a guilty pleasure!)
D - don't know - will be working until 9.30. Have more chicken at home which I might have, or have some sliced ham in the office fridge that I might eat before I leave for my evening work.

Managed a dairy free day yesterday but did succumb to two small glasses of red wine in the evening Blush

Working from home today but it's bloody freezing. Sat here with a fleecy blanket over me as I am too tight to put the heating on in the day. Will go for a run at lunch which will hopefully get my blood pumping a bit and warm me up.

Today's plan - dairy free again:
B: avocado, Parma ham, olive oil
L: eggs of some sort, probably scrambled with butter, with fried courgette and mushrooms
D: slow cooked chicken thighs, in tomatoes, mushrooms, courgette, shallot with cauli rice and butter

Will try to keep away from the wine tonight, promise

So yesterday ended up being some turkey breast slices before I left the office, and then two chicken thighs when I got home at around 10.30pm. So an odd day, as very few carbs at all!

Definitely had too much coffee (and therefore milk) again, but managed to get my 2+ litres of water in, I think.

Another day like yesterday in terms of work - i.e. leaving the office at four and not getting home until around 10-10.30. So food will be/has been:

B - 2 poached eggs
L - pastrami/ham/rocket and tomato salad
D - chicken thighs

Chester I paid for 6 weeks on Stunt's WOE. It was useful and she was very supportive but the talk board was very quiet. It was my most successful bc ever Grin

Evening all, sounds like everyone is pretty motivated and ready for next week. I'm away with work which I always find difficult due to everythig being carb based or loaded, but I have muddled through somehow and stayed on track. Home tomorrow thank goodness and will check in then.

Yes, the going away with work thing is really tough, isn't it? I'm off to Manchester tomorrow and staying over - I can at least have breakfast at home, but it will be lunch on the train; Euston facilities aren't great because the station is being re-developed, although there is at least an M&S there, so I'll probably pick up some bits and pieces. But after we've finished work, at around 9.30pm, we're with a client so there will be dinner to be had somewhere!

I've been lurking on the 34" waist thread in AIBU.
I feel a bit despondent because I am most certainly an apple shape (way back when, I had a"boyish" figure and I think these tend to morph into Apples with age and overeating).
No matter what I do, I CANNOT reduce my waistline in any significant way and it seems I'm doomed to diabetes and heart disease Sad Shock despite being a size 10/12 (which in itself means not a lot).
If I exercise like a demon, I just get even slimmer and more toned thighs.

I've googled "apple shape" and it would appear that wait for it, the LC WOE is ideal for apples. But exercise wise, it seems that the amount of cardio and more importantly resistance work I would have to do, would be unsustainable for me.

Would really going for it (doing the shred etc.) for say 6 weeks and seeing if it works, and then cutting back the exercise again to my normal amount (ie. briskly walking the dog up hill and down dale for 45 minutes a day) be a good idea? I don't think I could keep up the amount of exercise required as a longterm thing, I'm just being realistic here.

sorry for long essay but do any of you LC exercise experts have any advice or am I better off simply embracing my inner (and outer) Apple?

NB. LC WOE enables me to lose weight and drop dress sizes, but it still leaves me with the waist measurement that suggests I'm unhealthy Sad

I've always had a big waist Nigella - even when I was 13 and going for new school uniform, my waist was 26inches, and I was teeny tiny then! I think if after a lot of low carbing, and weight loss, you are very unlikely to still have visceral fat. It's just the shape that you are.

I'm an apple too and resigned to the fact that regardless of my weight I will always have that shape. I do feel that LC helps reduce my tummy better than any other diet and I try to dress to suit my shape, there's quite a good thread on Style & Beauty on apple clothes (that sounds awful but you know what I mean Smile )
