Greetings from a wet and soggy Sydney! It is at least hot, but I would like it more if the sun was shining!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for the last time this Bootcamp.

I won't be around to post much, so wishing you all a very lovely, happy and merry Christmas

Xmas Grin

I didn't manage to keep up with BC thread this time. I was at goal but wanted to become a vegetarian. Weight has fluctuated pretty much up and down within a 2lb range, which is 2lb over my lowest weight of the summer.

It is funny that you notice 2lb, but I do; that said, I am maintaining this weight without too much trouble, and I pretty much know what causes the up fluctuations (too many nuts and too much dark chocolate).

May do boot camp in Jan or may just keep maintaining and focus on other things. But a huge thank you to BCers last year and best wishes for next💐

Tried to post on here earlier but it wouldn't work so here goes again...

Lost two of my 5lb Xmas gain already so pleased with that, especially as still had wine, gin and a bit of chocolate over the last couple of days. Also AF is due later this week so not sure if I am a bit bloated from that or that joy is still to come.

Enjoying being back on LC though, feel so much better already. Slept terribly last nigh though, which I think I remember from the first time I LC'd but might also be down to the back to work blues.

Today's plan:
B: Eggs, cream, butter, coffee with cream
L: Beef salad, HM mayo
D: Salmon in parma ham, roasted broccoli and asparagus

No booze for me tonight, but lots and lots of water

Great news Pseudo
B: 2 hard boiled eggs
L: Home made chicken curry with courgette/aubergine
D: hm beef burger and belly pork strips
S: Pork scratchings which were soggy and awful

Need to up my water

Any ideas for a glaze on smoked bacon belly? I usually use maple syrup, honey, balsamic vinegar or bbq which is obviously off the menu.

Sheepishly returning to thread having gone carbtastically AWOL for a couple of weeks.

Joking aside, although I've had more carbs than I would like, I've had a lot less than I would have done before I started this WOE Including on a week's holiday in the alps.

I had lost a stone on this bootcamp but slacking for 2 wks (at least) has resulted in about 3lbs on.

Any tips for getting back on it? At the moment the sugar cravings and biscuits/chocs/gingerbread houses lying around from Xmas are getting the better of me. I think I need to chuck them out don't i!

Is it best to LC lite for a couple of days to ease my body back into it? Or best to go straight back in?

Whiffy, as a fellow BC escapee, I'm feeling your pain. I've just jumped back in with both feet and after three days feel like I'm back in the swing of it. I was sick of eating carbs and crap so have packed all the goodies away - out of sight, out of mind and all that. You can do it!

Backon mmm bacon I'd think a low carb glaze would be tough to create as surely it's the sugar that makes it glaze-y in the first place?

Whiffy - After Christmas I always cold turkey on crap, bread, cake, pastry etc and allow myself a day or so of a little bit of higher carb veg like carrots and parsnips, and maybe some nuts.

Ok thanks Chester, I'm going to do it. I'm also sick of feeling rubbish and so bloated. Just have to think that a few challenging days should be all it takes to get back in the zone.

Scales still on a downward slope. Bastard DH has lost 8lbs since Saturday Shock and, while I'm not doing quite so well, I am still pleased with my progress so far. Booked onto circuits for tonight - ouch time!

Today's plan:
B: scrambled eggs, butter, cream, cheddar
L: prawn avocado and HM mayo salad
D: LC sausages, swede mash with butter, roast broccoli

I'm starting again tomorrow. Did this 2 years ago and lost 1.5 stone and felt fab. However, a house move across the county, new job, new friends (with associated socialising!) later, I've put it back on.

Just been food shopping and I've the day off today to prep snacks and meals. I'm doing broccoli and blue cheese soup, cutting LC veg into crudités, making mackerel 'pate', and baking some kale and celeriac crisps. Wish me luck Wink

Welcome back Whiffy and welcome milk

I just threw myself back into it. I have to go cold turkey on the stuff I've eaten over christmas.

B: 2 Hard boiled eggs
L: Chicken/courgette curry
D: Pork chops, mushrooms in butter, broccoli

Hello all, I'm away with work which I always find challenging however came prepared for the inevitable sandwich lunch and have managed to stay on the straight and narrow. Thumping headache this afternoon which I am attributing to carb flu - good sign Smile

B = Pret protein pot and full fat Fage yoghurt
L = Tuna mayo salad which I made at home and brought with me
D = roast chicken with broccoli, cabbage and spinach which I melted some butter on, plus coffee with cream (we ate as a group and had a set menu but the restaurant were great and accommodated my requests for green veg, no gravy etc)

Done all my food prep and put snacks ready to go in packs in the fridge. I've made kale chips, celeriac chips and Parmesan chips, put crudités in the fridge (peppers, cucumber, radishes), made some soup and cooked off some side dishes too. Feeling pretty accomplished Wink

Having my last Diet Coke now before judgement day tomorrow!

Ballsed it up a little yesterday with too much dark choc and half a bottle of wine. Unsurprisingly AF showed up this morning so that is obviously why I found myself out of control.

Today's plan:
B: FF yog, double cream, cinnamon, orange oil
L: Omelette
D: Courgetti bol with cheese

Probably a bit of dairy overload today but if it gets me back on the straight and narrow, then so be it.

Report
milkmilklemonade12 · 06/01/2016 09:26

Well, I found an old recipe thread on here that tells you to mash up some cooked mackerel fillets loosely with a fork (I peeled the skin off also) and then mix this in with ff cream cheese. I stuffed it in the groove of celery and and tried dipping a Parmesan crisp in it and both were nice.

I'm currently at my desk working my way through some total ff yoghurt with 1 tbsp chia seeds in (I know no nuts but it's 1.1g of carbs per 100g, plus lots of protein) and chugging water. Not usually a breakfast woman myself but I am feeling alright for it considering.

I had v nice smoked trout pate over Christmas....simply mixed 1 smoked trout fillet with butter, salt, pepper, small squeeze lemon juice.

I spread it on cucumber slices. Lovely.

Ooohh... Orange oil, what a good idea!! Just something to take the plain-ness out of the yoghurt that would be nice. Did you find it in the cooking aisle in the supermarket?

Report
ChesterDrawers · 06/01/2016 13:08

I did Milk, with the food colouring, vanilla essence etc. I've had it about two years and only half way though the little bottle as you only need a drop. Mine is mixed with rapeseed oil and nothing else, so no nasty sugar or anything like that.

I sometimes put grated vanilla in too, which is also lovely for a change.

Fab thank you! The 2% total isn't too bad but the 0% which DH sometimes buys by mistake is really sharp and needs something! Even if you add double cream it doesn't really take the edge off.

Can anyone suggest anything I can put in hot water? I'm doing boot camp for 2 weeks and need an alternative to tea/coffee at work which tbh I need to cut down on anyway.

Plain hot water is pretty nice. I go for rooibos or herbal tea. Twinings do a Buttermint that tastes like Werthers Originals and there's one called Chamomile and Spiced Apple that tastes like apple pie.
