Sorry all - first day back at work and I had a horribly early start, so this is the first chance I've had to set this thread up. Blush

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Will be back later this afternoon to catch up!

Yesterday
B: Avocado
L: Green salad, hot smoked salmon, hm mayo
D: chicken breast with leeks, mushrooms, cream, cabbage

Today
B: ff total, cinnamon
L: bacon & Brie frittata, green salad, mayo
D: cottage pie with cauli mash, rainbow chard

CalmYoBadSelf · 04/11/2015 19:27

I have a rotten cough and tight chest (am asthmatic) so, although I'm not off my food, I am a but less motivated in cooking, etc

B: Ham and creamy scrambled eggs
L: Homemade vegetable soup and an Atkins bar (I know it's processed crap but I really couldn't be bothered with food)
T: Turkey cutlets and veg in a cream sauce with Slim Rice

LexLoofah · 04/11/2015 19:59

ewan I have the waitrose crisp & tangy cornichons with dill flowers (fancy) which are 6g per 100g, not sure how that compares with others. I have just weighed one ( must admit have not done this before and maybe should have done) and it was 15g so that is about 1g carbs per pickle if I have worked it out correctly, so pretty high I suppose but I never have more than one, I find they help to cut the greasy feeling with all the butter etc and I like the crunch. I have made my own in the past when I was trying to get into fermented foods but not really willing to get stuck into that again at the moment. BIWI what is your verdict, in or out for bootcamp? Or just go off the scales?

Also re: peanut butter, aside from looking at why you might be hungry at certain times i.e. not enough fat or water, external triggers etc can you switch to almond butter as lower carbs than peanut butter but more $$$ unfortunately. How much would you have, can you stop at a spoons worth?

WhiffyBiffer · 04/11/2015 20:31

Hello all, finding things a bit tough today. Baby not sleeping well so am exhausted, haven't had time to shop so fridge is quite bare. Did manage to stick lamb in slow cooker last night at least.

B: half cup creamy coffee (no time for anything else)

About 1130; lamb from the slow cooker

L: at someone's house - hm carrot coriander soup.

About 4pm: starving, no time to go home, at my mums and caved and had 1 packet of mini cheddars. Her fridge was empty. Not ideal!

D: lamb, lettuce and mayo.

More water than usual but not enough!

Feel my eating is quite chaotic which reflects things at home. Think I'm trying to do too much. Must go shopping tomorrow!

Gcalgske · 04/11/2015 23:39

Getting caught up: way to go Chester, thanks all for Flowers and condolences - you lot rock, Ewan there is a new whole earth peanut butter with flax and sunflower seeds which is ridiculously low. Another tip is to thin it out with butter. I'll find the link.

Gcalgske · 04/11/2015 23:42

www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=285925253

It's less than 5g carbs per 100g which is a lot less than regular peanut butter. I have it 50/50 with softened butter (25g of each) which is gorgeous as a dip for chicken wrapped in Parma ham and cucmber sticks.

Gcalgske · 04/11/2015 23:51

Tesco's own brand gherkins are around 2.5g/100g. There is some sugar in ingredients though. You can chuck some more dill in if need be. I like a crunchy pickled veg to cut the richness too lex. Love pickled cauliflower.

Today food:

Coffee with cream
Pork belly with star anise salt, mug ham bone broth with butter, cucmber chunk
2 X Debbie and Andrews 97% pork sausages, aubergine / tomato pesto bake thingie
Snacked on 6 chicken wings in franks red hot chilli lime sauce (1.8g/100mls I used 15mls) and butter.

BIWI · 05/11/2015 00:18

Regeneration

B: egg and mushroom muffins and 2 cups of coffee

This sounds fine, but how much fat was in the muffins?

L: fried halloumi and an avocado. Can we have lemon or does that count as fruit?

You can have lemon - it's really not very sweet, so should be fine!

D: sausages were 3.5g carb per 100g so not massively low but not massively high (I hope!!!)

Where is your veg/salad? How many sausages did you have? You can get sausages that are much lower in fat than this

s: Mackerel fillet.
About 2.5 litres of water and 2 coffee and a tea.

About?! Are you drinking milk with your coffee/tea? If you are, you could have had a lot of carbs across the whole day

I've been ravenous in the evening for the past 2 days so have had to have an evening snack a couple of hours after dinner. I've had salami or cheese or olives but I didn't think I'd be this hungry!

If you're hungry, then you're either not eating enough, or you're not eating enough fat, and possibly not drinking enough water.

Morning all, fab breakfast this morning - scrambled two eggs in loads of butter then mixed with half a mashed avocado and a load of HM mayo. Was amazing and so filling and soft too for my poor dentist-y achy face Sad

Today's plan:
B: as above
L: left over pork in toms, leeks, courgette and mushrooms
D: Depends - we are poss going to fireworks display so might have a chicken and lamb mixed kebab from the takeaway with lashings of garlic mayo.

LexLoofah · 05/11/2015 14:14

B - streaky bacon, fried eggs, half an avocado
L - roasted duck breast rubbed with 5 spice, other half of avocado, spinach dressed with pan fat & vinegar dressing, sq dark choc, earl grey latte
D - will be hm egg mayo on cracker bread with our crop of homegrown cress and dressed leaves

sipping a licorice and cinnamon tea, lovely but tastes quite sweet

Gcalgske · 05/11/2015 15:10

B: coffee with cream
L: chicken wings (6) in butter and chilli lime sauce, mug bone broth with butter and star anise salt
D: made cottage pie for the family so took out a portion of the mince before adding carby veg and thickening gravy (shallot, mince, mushrooms, red wine, bit of hm stock) will have my mince with asparagus and celeriac chips.

regenerationfez · 05/11/2015 15:58

Hi I had today:
B Yoghurt and scrambled eggs with tomatoes
L sausages, halloumi and fried mushrooms
I have some chicken thighs for dinner so am thinking of chicken and roasted courgettes and aubergine. May also make some swede mash with it.
I did go to my friend house and have a cherry bakewell. It was small and had too much icing on so I'm very annoyed with myself Sad

Wombatinabathhat · 05/11/2015 17:20

B: Ham and mayo
L: pork curry with courgette and cauliflower I'm so glad it's finished
D: Gammon with fried egg and mushrooms in butter

1 cup of tea
Few pork scratchings

EwanHoozami · 05/11/2015 17:20

B - Fried eggs and buttery spinach
L - ham and avocado
D - salmon, celeriac, watercress and hard boiled egg salad

CharlieSierra · 05/11/2015 19:59

B: ff total with cinnamon
L: Brie & bacon frittata
D: slow cooker Italian roast pork (theclothesmakethegirl.com), creamed cauli, rainbow chard

A bag of pork scratchings Shock

Huntthepigsear · 05/11/2015 21:05

I enjoyed my reading group last night - had hm chicken curry and green beans. Avoided the rice, veg balls and cake. Did have a mouthful of champagne as we were celebrating 3 years of the group, plus one of the members becoming a grandma. First alcohol in over a month! As it was champagne, I didn't even break the rules. Grin
Today, spent two hours building Lego before work as it is DS3's birthday, so only had coffee with cream x2 for breakfast
L - hm mackerel pate with babybells, lettuce, celery and cucumber, FF yoghurt
D - chicken and spinach curry with cauli rice
S - spicy chai latte with almond milk and cream

I have avoided birthday cake, so feeling very virtuous. Smile

nekobus · 05/11/2015 22:06

B - 2 hb eggs & butter, coffee & cream
L - 3 big mushrooms grilled with pesto and mozzarella, chorizo
D - roast chicken, kale with garlic & cream, asparagus, lots of butter and crispy skin Smile

Not enough water and not sure I can get another litre in before bed!

Billionnairewannabe · 06/11/2015 00:19

B - ff yoghurt Starbucks Americano with pouring cream delicious!
L - 100ml mushroom soup, 2 lc sausages & salad with mayo
D - lettuce gem leaves & pâté

Snacked on nuts but sooooo easy to get carried away so not going to do nuts anymore. Went to aerobics so hope that made up for it!

ChesterDrawers · 06/11/2015 06:09

Euuugghhh, up since 3.30 here - thanks to DS and his slippy duvet. Day off today so hoping if I do lots of running round this morning, I can grab a nap before school pick up later.

Had lovely tea last night. Chicken breast smeared in pesto and topped with cambazola, baked in the oven. I had it with salad and hm Mayo - lovely.

Today:
B: left over chicken breast from last night, half an avocado, hm Mayo
L: not sure - might be out and about. If home, something eggy
D: slow cooked lamb neck marinated in olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, Rosemary, with Greek salad

ApplySomePressure · 06/11/2015 11:20

Yesterday was a bit of a balls up, not great as I only started Monday. Ambulance was called for DS at 1am yesterday as he has servers croup and couldn't breath- so as a result of a severe lack of sleep and not being at home, I tried my best Blushback home now, so am back in routine
Yesterday
B: black coffee
L: 9 McDonald's chicken nuggets and a Sprite Zero
D: fish and chips with a Dr Pepper.

Today:
B: coffee and cream. Pork belly strip from the fridge (previously fired in butter and five spice)
L: hard boiled eggs, delouis mayo and lettuce, celery and cumber
S: slice of Brie. One celery stick with pate.
D: pork shoulder steak, creamy leek sauce with more leeks and courgettes.

Billionnairewannabe · 06/11/2015 13:25

So...just had a routine eye check and it shows...high cholesterol.Shock Not sure if that's just due to the high levels of fat I'm eating at the moment or what? (never been a particularly high fat eater and never been told that before)? So, I'm going to have to try and hope that keeping low carb and drinking lots of water will sustain me on the diet as don't feel like I can continue with the same levels of fat. I will get a full cholesterol test done next week but just wondered if you experienced LCHF peeps have any experience/info to share?
A bit gutted because I'm loving this WOE so want to try & continue without the fat intake.

BIWI · 06/11/2015 13:36

Have you had a cholesterol test before?

Which type of cholesterol is 'high'?

Low cholesterol, in women (especially as you get older) is associated with higher rates of coronary heart disease.

It's not as simple as saying you have high cholesterol!

OP posts:
ThumbWitchesAbroad · 06/11/2015 13:39

Absolutely - last time I had my cholesterol checked, the overall cholesterol levels were just above normal range (so rated as "high"), but in fact my ratio was fine, because my HDL cholesterol (the so-called "good" one) was higher than my LDL cholesterol (the so-called "bad" one) so there was nothing to worry about.

A "cholesterol" level tells you nothing useful - you need a breakdown of ratios and triglycerides to work out whether or not there actually is anything to worry about. :)

LexLoofah · 06/11/2015 14:09

B - bacon, mushrooms, egg, cuppa, earl grey latte
L - leftover 5 spice duck breast fried with cabbage in butter - lovely stir fry type meal, dark choc
D - will be leftover minced beef & cabbage before heading off to bonfire

have a good weekend everyone

DartmoorDoughnut · 06/11/2015 15:27

Not doing brilliantly today 40g of carbs and only 20g of fat, will have to have something zero carb and massively high in fat for dinner, any ideas?!
