Morning all!

Here's the spreadsheet

Hopefully we'll be able to shed at least one more of these before the end of our final week.

AndTheBand, my father had a heart attack early, but also smoked and drank. I think there is research which shows that your blood cholesterol is actually lower on a low carb diet than a low fat one - often also low fat foods are bulked up with sugar for taste which affects your blood glucose, and will be worse for your health.

I don't know, I have lost weight on this WOE and find it easier to keep off, so I can't see how that would be more unhealthy really.

Beccus, I looked at what you are eating and thought it was actually too much fat. It is more than I would feel comfortable consuming, but people are different. I have found it is a case of finding what works for me, within the BC rules and tweaking as I go along. However, I have started doing BPCs in the morning and I do think I feel fuller. I am waiting for the laxative effect, though - believe me, this would be a plus for me.

Raisin, I was worried when I started this WOE that I would wake in the night hungry because I was not eating enough - whereas I slept all the way through. I was actually astonished, because I used to have toast or something before bed otherwise I would be hungry in the night. Not only am I not hungry in the night, I can go several hours without having breakfast.

Beccus · 14/07/2015 21:39

thx romey. no nausea today Smile I swapped the double cream for almond milk in the hot drinks and feel much better

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 15/07/2015 13:06

B: Greek yog plus strawberry & blackcurrant puree
L: Prawn cocktail salad
D: Pork steak with fried cabbage and shallots, probably with chilli flakes, creamy mustardy sauce
2 x mugs of tea with milk (so far)

I have finally persuaded DH that our portion sizes were too big on things like meat. He made us essentially the above dinner only with steak instead of pork, and he used one large steak. Normally he would have used two, and he was surprised that he was full afterwards! We had an argument not long ago where he said that 1 pork steak was a ridiculously small amount (this was pre-low carb, so he would have had potatoes as well as veg and sauce with it) and I should be defrosting 4 pork steaks for 2 adults. No wonder we spend so bloody much on food! He said himself that we should bulk up with things like cabbage and broccoli, but then he went and made a curry with heaps of chicken thighs and drumsticks and no visible veg. Hmm

Haven't drunk any water yet - will go and fill up my bottle. 9 stone 12.5 this morning!

plumstone · 15/07/2015 16:15

2lbs up - TOTM and am actually pleased as my waist measurement has stayed at 29 inches for the last three weeks - think it has found its happy place - just need to tell the scales to arrive at the same happy place.

Also - Have downloaded C25k app and will start tonight. Really need to have some me time - the last few weeks have been mental - feel like I have been through the wringer with family stuff - normally we are such a stoic lot and the last few weeks every little bloody thing seems to need my input - it doesn't, and I don't want to start being harsh with them but FFS come on people and grow a pair!! .

All in all though happy with the results since end March - 9lbs off which despite the odd several days out and carby twattery more recently due to life getting in the way have not gone over 12.2lbs so I know that by concentrating the mind the rest will slowly come off - deadline of 10.7 by Christmas!!!! I will look svelte by then if it kills me - think I just need to pay attention to caller ID a bit more!!

KOKO xoxo

Made [http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/cheese-recipes/ricotta-fritters-with-tomato-sauce-courgette-salad/#dzUC06dhsMGTx1Bj.97 this] tonight, substituting the tablespoon of flour for ground almonds.

It was bloody delicious!! Highly recommend it for any other BC-ers. The courgette salad was amazing so have got leftovers of it tomorrow for lunch with some mozzarella and some chopped up boiled egg. Possibly an odd combination for lunch but I don't mind!

lisbapalea · 16/07/2015 22:05

Sorry, link fail! On my phone and not sure how to correct it! It was Jamie Oliver ricotta fritters with tomato sauce and courgette salad.

Gcalgske · 16/07/2015 23:15

Did you use the flour in the recipe? Wondering if it'd work without...

Gcalgske · 17/07/2015 09:13

Making this for tea.
www.mumsnet.com/food/recipe/90-Slow-cooked-coconut-ginger-pork

It's on marks daily apple and on recipes here, neither credits each other so not sure where it's from originally.

Slight home shopping delivery arse up means I only have low fat coconut milk so this has had to be rectified with the addition of two tbsp coconut oil. Also hubby dislikes corriander so made it with mustard seed, garlic, ginger and a whole green chilli. Smells yummy already. Cauli rice for me and some Bok choi.

lisbapalea · 17/07/2015 10:00

Hi gcal no I substituted the flour with ground almonds and it seemed to work fine. I think I cooked the fritters too quickly, too hot, so if I did it again I would cook them lower and slower, and I think that way they would be more golden (mine were a little 'charred'!) and probably more robust for flipping over!

Your recipe sounds amazing - will give that a try next week I think!

We have friends coming over for a BBQ tomorrow so we're doing homemade burgers (topped with cheese and bacon!), sausages, tandoori drumsticks and then loads of BC friendly salads. I am going to make the Jamie Oliver courgette and mint one from last night, but add in some feta cheese.

BIWI · 17/07/2015 10:32

Yep, that recipe is originally from Mark's Daily Apple - I posted it on the Bootcamp recipe thread, where I did credit it - whoever copied it to the MN recipe section obviously didn't do that!

OP posts:
Gcalgske · 17/07/2015 10:47

I must have missed it on the recipe thread. I know you would have credited. Grin
Do you reckon 2tbsp coconut oil is enough to make up for the low fat nonsense? It's very low carb though (only 1.5g/100ml) so I used the whole can.

BIWI · 17/07/2015 10:50

I'd have thought so - presumably the meat you're using is a fatty cut as well?

BeyondTheWall · 17/07/2015 11:04

Gosh, this is a quiet bc compared to the last one!

Hello :) i am back from various holiday-y things and back on the wagon. I've actually been on bc for nearly two weeks, just havent posted here, sorry Blush

BIWI · 17/07/2015 11:08

Yes I don't think many people have made it to the end, Beyond! Grin

Gcalgske · 17/07/2015 11:16

Yeah it's a nice fatty bit of leg. Butcher looked at me weird (as usual)
I just bunged in some curry leaf, ground cumin and black onion seed too. Smelling great.

ewanhoozami · 17/07/2015 11:31

I'm still here-ish! Starting another whole 30 as the dairy was making me stall and generally feel a bit crap. But still technically LCing. Well done one and all Smile

StoneFoxMama · 17/07/2015 12:32

I'm still here, i did start late though. Is this the last week and will there be another after? I'm absolutely carrying on, all my thin clothes fit and I've just been bought a size 6 bridesmaid dress ( even though bridesmaid dress sizes do tend to come up massive) I'm really happy with the amount of amazing food i can eat.

AndTheBandPlayedOn · 17/07/2015 14:29

I'm still koko. The weight isn't really dropping off, but my body is changing and I feel much much better. I will continue. I certainly do not miss the sugar cravings! Thanks BIWI Flowers

HarlotOTara · 17/07/2015 17:54

Hi,

I never registered but have been following the thread. I have lost 1st 4lbs since the beginning of May and would I've to lose another 10-14lbs depending on what that looks like. It has been such an easy way yo lose weight and great when eating out. I have converted quite a few people I know. KOKO

LondonBetti · 17/07/2015 18:10

Hey, am also still KOKO and wondering what to do after this week as want to loose another stone over the next 10 weeks ....

Romeyroo · 17/07/2015 20:09

I am still here, but life is all very odd. I would like to know why the train to normality keeps passing me by.

Boot camp wise, I am KOKO, bought some probiotics for digestive health so need to remember to take them.

I wasn't really part of BC this time, but I seem to be down a couple of pounds and overall still very happy with my weight and this WOE.

BIWI · 17/07/2015 20:17

LondonBetti - and others! - when Bootcamp is finished, I always set up a general chat thread, and (usually) Sayra keeps the spreadsheet active, so that people can continue.

So there will still be plenty of support and general chat here if you need it.

OP posts:
Gcalgske · 17/07/2015 20:56

I'll be koko between. My ass is tres enormous still!

lisbapalea · 17/07/2015 20:57

I am still here and KOKO! Just had chilli in lettuce leaves with avocado and cheese!

I think once BC is over I may dabble with the odd bit if carb here and there, but I want to understand what I can "get away with" without gaining, even if it means a few weeks of stagnating as I learn. I also want to learn to be restrained enough so that an occasional treat doesn't become a daily habit which is what has always happened in the past.

I still want to lose at least another stone though so BC principles are staying with me for life!

trashcanjunkie · 17/07/2015 21:00

Hey all, have fallen a bit by the wayside last couple of weeks, but will be clawing it back and KOKO on the continuing thread. Well done everybody and thanks so much for the thread BIWI and Sayra for the spreadsheet, and everybody else for keeping going through thick and thin.

Think I did good on my assessment yesterday. Will find out if I made it in three weeks time.
