Here's the spreadsheet

So our last two weeks. This Bootcamp seems to have gone really quickly!

Having been in carby twatland for most of the last two weeks (aka my DB/SIL's fat-free, low cal home) I'm back on track and aiming to make these next two weeks as strict as I can. My personal strategy for this BC has been not to weigh at all - but to go by my clothes. I can tell by how my gym clothes are fitting that this BC has been a good one for me (overall), and I'm not going to let the last fortnight undo all this.

Anyway, I hope those of you weighing have a good result.

Seaoflove I have done 14:10 intermittent fasting before which is an (easier) variant of 16:8. That's when you only eat within a ten-hour window. You don't have to do it every day to see results. The way I worked it was to try and wait fourteen hours from my last meal of the day before having breakfast or brunch. You can have up to 50 calories during the fast so you can still have a cup of tea or coffee when you get up. So if I finished eating for the day at 7:30 p.m. then I wouldn't have breakfast the next day until 9:30 a.m. It's pretty flexible as it's the length of the fast that's important rather than the length of the eating window. And since you don't need to do it every day then if you're hungry when you wake up you don't make that day a fast day.

My mouth was watering when I read this. Once you get into the way of it then fat starts to become really appealing because your body knows that it is your number one energy source. I was at a Premier Inn with work earlier this week and I think my colleagues were a bit surprised to see me unwrapping the mini packets of butter because my full fry breakfast wasn't fatty enough for me.

Miffy you're right about the hormones. When I stopped breastfeeding DS3 I dropped 2.5 lb in a week or two so I guess those were the breastfeeding reserves going.

Blimey - made a fathead pizza earlier and it really was good! I didn't believe the recipe when it said you can't eat as much as you can a normal pizza, but it's so tried! I managed less than half, three hours ago and I am still full!

Have just discovered Tesco Finest Vintage Cava is a Brut Nature which has the least amount of sugar for a white wine. It's only £6.99 and just 0.3g per 100ml. I've been sticking to an occasional glass of red as that is only 0.2g per 100ml but now summer's here a nice bit of cold sparkly will go down a treat!!

Coconut oil used to make me gag until I realised I was using the cheap stuff and it's worth investing in the decent extra virgin organic stuff.

If you're struggling with knowing what to do, or finding it hard to embrace the fat (culinary not bodilyGrin) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do some reading about low carbing and the science behind it. Look at the resources tab in the bottom of the spreadsheet for inspiration.

Second that, Biwi, the low fat/high carb, calories-in-needs-to-be-less-than-calories-out diet orthodoxy is scarily well-established. One of my colleagues asked me when I explained I was not eating sugar - are you not miserable?

Em, no, quite the opposite. Getting on top of my sugar addiction cleared space in my head to address other things but that takes too long to explain, so I just said, no as long as I don't have to ever give up coffee Grin

BPC again this morning - i am using coconut oil from Holland and Barratt, salted butter and coconut milk as cream triggers hives ( the butter seems to be manageable though). It makes me feel SO full though, I can't believe I didn't discover this already.

It does taste coconutty, but not overwhelmingly so.

I bought Escape The Diet Trap when it was cheap on Kindle a month or so ago. I just wish I had the time to read it. Guess I should spend less time arsing around on the Internet.

Grin Romey! I expected a fight over me doing LC when I had my docs revue last week and the only thing that seemed to give him concern was that I don't eat puddings! Still, this was the same bloke whos idea of treating pre diabetes was just to give up sweets.Confused

I love the way that LC frees your mind from the constant obsession with food. I actually feel quite irritated when DH & DS1 are spouting on about Slimming World and yet they are constantly on the hunt for food. Its like living with caterpillars!

Seaoflove I have naturally fallen into a similar pattern to Stunt. I tried 5:2 but it didn't suit me at all and it took months to undo the damage. Now I have my coffee with a tbs of coconut oil when I get up and don't even think about any sort of solid food until around 2pm. I do eat later at night as I have to consider my fasting blood glucose so I find I'm best if I have a little cheese just before bed. My fast is on average 14/16 hours. I find I have loads more energy to get the essentials done. I don't torture myself though. If I wake up hungry I will have an early breakfast but I often find on those days my energy levels crash much sooner.

Thanks BIWI. I swapped the onions for shallots and added mushrooms too. The mince was 10% fat, so cooked in lots of olive oil and also added another glug whilst it was simmering. The tomatoes I used were 3g carb per 100g, so OK, I think.

the cooked chicken had less than .5g of carb per 100g but ingredients did include brown sugar and dextrose - does that mean I shouldn't eat them.

Breakfast today I had scrambled eggs (mixed with double cream) with bacon, mushrooms (fried in butter) and some spinach. Still feeling full, but going to make myself eat something now to keep with the three meals a day part of bootcamp.

I am finding it hard to get my head round using so much fat, but understand why I need to. After years of fat is bad mantra, it feels scary using so much fat in my cooking. But need to do this properly to give it a chance to succeed. When do you begin to see a difference on the scales?

It depends on a lot of different things! Everyone is different. But most people do see a fairly significant loss in the first two weeks.

Ach, cr@p evening here. XH says he still loves me. I left over two years ago because I couldn't cope with everything that was going on and some of his behaviour. I shut him out for a long time, with expensive legal assistance. We are almost at the stage of having the paperwork sorted to divorce.

I am torn between wondering if he is serious or having a laugh at my expense; and building fragile castles in the sand thinking it somehow might work out okay.

I more or less managed to stay on track with my food, although some dark chocolate later this evening. I will NOT self-medicate this emotional maelstrom with food; I have worked SO hard to get to this weight. Coping strategies needed, I am going to do a meditation practice and go to bed. Apologies for the thread derail, please, please don't feel the need to respond to this as it is off thread, I just feelSadSadSad.

It does feel a bit of a mess, really. In an ideal world, he would have treated me better, but at a time which I can cope with, I will listen to what he has to say and see if he listens to me. I think if he waits till that time, then there is less chance I am being played. Though if I am being played, it is already a long game Sad

Anyway, onwards, I have masses to do and a BPC to make. Despite the dark chocolate, I seem to be down another pound Shock, so am sticking with the BPC. And I am reminded by posts up thread that I still need to read the Dr Briffa book. Focus, focus, focus....

KOKO, ladies, especially the newbies, this WOE works.

Romey only you know what's right to do and how you really feel about everything. Just remember you hold the power over your emotions, don't hand it over to him too freely. I hope things work out the way you want them too.

On a completely different note, this is super gross but has anyone experience the opposite of the constipation problem? Is it all the fat? I feel like my body is having a clear out but it's happening most days, though i don't really mind as I'm still having nightmares about post pregnancy severe piles and constipation and never want to go back to that!
