Morning all my lovely campers!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

and don't forget the Weight Tracker if you prefer to keep things private.

Hopefully the dreaded weeks 3 and 4 are well behind us, and we can now get on with the process of shedding more fat Grin

Here's to another good week, and I hope that the scales were kind to you this morning

Right so I've been a proper carby twat today and no mistake. I've properly fallen off the wagon, I ate flapjack, a fairy cake and pancakes. Dinner wasn't awful but I ate two little beetroot roasts which have been in the freezer for ages and I knew would be yummy, around 20g each.

Emotionally I feel like shit today, but that's unrelated to what I've eaten. However, eating all that sugar hasn't made me feel better. So tomorrow I will try to get back in the saddle. I'm also at home due to half term and that always tempts me into boredom eating.

sassandfaff · 17/02/2015 21:29

biwi I've just been through, week 2, 3, and 4 and even the question thread!

I'm trying to find the YouTube link you posted about the history story of low fat/nutrition advice.

Could you possibly post it again? to stop me having to shoot myself

BIWI · 17/02/2015 21:41

Oh goodness - I don't want anyone shooting themselves!

Hang on ...

Thanks

It was the tediousness of trawling through 12/13 pages 4 times! Grin

Food today

B- mackerel and scrambled eggs.
L- cheese scone and a tiny portion of carrot soup.
D- Spanish chicken and courgette fritters
S- Greek yogurt and creme fraiche.

Tried a bullet proof tea today! Weird, but not totally unpleasant. Smile

StuntNun · 17/02/2015 22:38

There are goats cheese Babybels too. The Gouda ones are horrid though so I feed those ones to the dog. Shock

BestIsWest · 17/02/2015 22:38

Thanks BIWI I needed that. I have been a bit lazy with food this last week and need to drink more water. Going to have 3 days without dairy too to see if I can kick start things again.

BitchyDoesWitchyThings · 17/02/2015 22:41

Shock Stunt how does your dog not stink you out of house and home?

Notso · 17/02/2015 22:47

26 pancakes later and none for me. I tried another cream cheese one but it was bleurgh.
I made do with blueberries and mascarpone. I've not eaten proper meals again today. I knew half term would mess me up and am due on soon too.
A few slices of pork at 11, some dark chocolate at 12, cold chicken curry at 3ish, blueberries and mascarpone at 5ish and bacon and salad at 9:30.

imustbepatient · 17/02/2015 22:50

I have had over 4 litres of water today, so a tick for that target. I've also managed to avoid dairy for the last two days, without noticing it too much (although I have missed my once a day coffee with cream!)

I just plan to keep dairy lowish for a bit rather than cut it out entirely at this stage. Hopefully small amounts will be ok without causing any stalls.

I can see changes in my face and a little in my body I think (as well as being obviously less bloated) but I have to confess I'm hanging out to see the scales start to move too! Hey ho, I'm in this for the long run, so will try to stop thinking about it!

Thanks very much Chester for the iPad spreadsheet instructions, it worked like a charm and I've added by weight from Monday.

FurFoxAke · 17/02/2015 22:59

Evening all! Glad I managed to miss biwi and her stick! Grin

I've had a hard time not eating somehting silly, and literally could stuff my face all day long....but am here, unscathed ready to fight another day!

Have managed 3 litres of water plus a big mug of butter mint tea. (I'm still bloating but I will push on through (it's not as uncomfortable as normal though) and will hopefully de bloat again when my TOTM actually gets here)

Would drinking that hot water/marmite drink help do you think? It's so frustrating to be so puffed up for a week or so when I'm trying so hard to stay on the straight and narrow. Or was it bovril?

B; roasted broccoli with eggs and cheese. BPC. (Splash of cream)
D; Parma ham with a small amount of coleslaw and green salad leaves
T; two gluten free sausages and buttery mash.

FurFoxAke · 17/02/2015 23:03

imustbepatient you sound like me! Cutting back on the dairy, noticing I look different, little or no weight loss. Grin

We can do it.
Wink

Thumbwitch · 17/02/2015 23:17

Good timing with the big stick.

I got proper insomnia last night, and I've not been able to get my catnaps during the day properly either - AND I got a bunged up nose, which blocked every time I lay down, so around 4am (not sure, I couldn't honestly bear to look) I gave in to my hideous cravings and had a block of cheese with salt and vinegar crisps, and then a small dark chocolate lindt bunny. THEN I managed to go to sleep in the recliner chair for a couple of hours. Not feeling too bright today! And of course it was the night DH chose to be away for work

Today will be back on the wagon good and proper. Lots of water, and bootcamp heavy (but not uber, I can't do without dairy and I don't think it's a problem for me) from now on.

I really need to sort breakfast though - couldn't eat this morning as felt sick from tiredness but I need to deal with it.

Also, does anyone have a good recipe for swede crisps? I can't bear kale crisps but I really really need some salty crunchy stuff, and I've gone right off the parmesan crisps as well :(

imustbepatient · 17/02/2015 23:28

FurFoxAke sounds good to me, we can do the 'slow and steady wins the race' type thing! I'm just waiting for the whoosh fairy to arrive. Perhaps she is somewhat tortoise like too...

Gcalgske · 17/02/2015 23:53

Thumb if you slice celeriac on a mandolin and then shred it ( then deep fry till golden) you can make celeriac 'straw' fries which are sweet and crunchy and proper lush. I normally sprinkle them over a salad or eat a wee portion when I'm craving crisps. They are ACE seasoned with sf/gf curry powder. Either this or pepperoni chips (microwave pepperoni till crisp) are my current favourite. X

Gcalgske · 17/02/2015 23:57

On the subject of babybel I normally use them to make microwave cheese puffs. If you do a batch of pepperoni or chorizo chips first on a microwaveable silicon plate then throw in the baby bell you get a sausage flavoured cheesey crisp which is pretty good.

Thumbwitch · 18/02/2015 00:04

Ok, so if I use my julienne grater on the celeriac will that work too? What do you fry them in?
I don't "do" pepperoni, it's pig and makes me ill (don't do any spicy sausage of any type) so can't use that idea, but thanks for it. What is the Babybel cheese puff thing? Do you just microwave a Babybel until it explodes? Confused

Gcalgske · 18/02/2015 00:18

Pretty much, I coat a silicon cake tin in oil and then microwave the baby bel, it goes melty then kind of hard looking. Timings vary you wildly on different microwaves. About 2 mins on mine. Needs to be hard not melted all the way to the middle then left to cool for a minute. They taste like the cheesiest of cheesy wotsis! Break up and use the scoop salsa or guacamole.
I've never tried a grater on the celeriac but think it would work, I fry in lard or groundnut oil usually.

Thumbwitch · 18/02/2015 00:21

Cool I'll try both of those, thanks! Grin

Gcalgske · 18/02/2015 00:27

them to scoop. - sorry it's late.
Any fat with a high smoke point suitable for deep frying although I steer clear of cheap veg oil (non hydrogenated lard is just as cheap and infinitely better for your health imo)

miffy49 · 18/02/2015 00:46

Oh my!! Just tried a Baby Bel explosion. Read the post about them as I was getting ready for bed and I always have a Baby Bel last thing as it helps keep my fasting BG down. 2mins to crunchy bliss! That's the last time a mess about making parmesan crisps in the oven. These are much nicer and don't collapse into crumbs.

Gcalgske · 18/02/2015 01:01

They are great - I just can't get on with a lump of cheese without a cracker but the crisps are bliss. X

LexLoofah · 18/02/2015 01:18

Ok so first day of über done!

Had a piece of jerky when I got home then made pancakes for DCs and American friends from next door, think I have converted them to English pancakes

dinner was chicken breast roasted in garlic butter, buttery turnip mash and collards fried in the chicken pan drippings, was full by about the third mouthful and not an especially big portion as watching amounts BUT It still ate it all as worried about being hungry later

Calculate today to be 9.8g of carbs which sounds a bit low even for uber but I feel ok not tired or headache or anything

Thumbwitch · 18/02/2015 01:46

I think 2 mins might be a bit too long for my microwave - the Babybel is rock hard and because I'm too lazy to have greased the plate, stuck to it. I kind of assumed there'd be enough fat in the babybel to stop it sticking, but no!
It does taste goooood though. :)

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 18/02/2015 06:54

Planned food for today-
B- 2 eggs, butter, decaf coffee w cream
L- salad with egg, 30g feta, olives, olive oil, sprinkle of seeds
D- fried tofu, mushroom and cherry tomatoes with boiled green beans and cauli in butter
S- yoghurt with cream

I've entered it into mfp and with appropriate weights it's giving me 30g carbs. It's not ubercamp but I can't see how to get it down much further. Probably if I cut out the yoghurt but my day is already light on protein and yoghurt has plenty of it.
