Evening everyone. I hope you're all ready, prepared and raring to go!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness:

for you to enter your starting weight

Have a good look at the tabs at the bottom, as there you will find the rules, the list of allowed veg and lots of other really useful information.

I've also started the questions thread , so if you have anything you need to ask, that's the best place to ask it. The chat threads move really quickly in the first weeks, so this thread is the best place to ask your questions.

And this time around, I thought it might be useful to have a thread to post about good/interesting low carb products that you come across:

Here

Good luck!

Well I have seen, mint, peppermint, spearmint, three mint, double mint and green tea with mint, but no buttermint! Grrr.

Visited sainsburys and Morrison's. It will be on my mind until I get it. I was tempted to drive to the nearest tesco, but thought that would be a little obsessed. Grin

Managed to get 6 boxes of olives though. Hmm they were £2.30 a box or 2 for £3, so couldn't resist.

Saw mackeral after someone mentioned it on here the other day and decided on that instead of bacon.

My dp is supposedly lcing with me. After telling him the ins and outs for the last 12 months he finally gets it, but to be honest he still cheats
Less so lately though. Fortunately he isn't overweight in the slightest (32 inch waist) so he can afford too if he wants.

I think I'd be cross too though if he was cheating all the time and I was going to great lengths to cook for him mrsk

We have tacos with lettuce leaves. We make a salsa dip using cherry tomatoes, red onion (could use spring onions instead) and squeeze of lime. Sour cream and guc dip too. It's so nice.

Think I will make these to go with my steak tonight.

lurkingmurking · 21/01/2015 11:00

MrsK I think you're right to say if he cheats again then he can sort himself out. It's not on. Mr L also needs to shift a few pounds but his idea of this is to just eat dinner. I despair but he has to be the one to sort himself out.

I love the fajitas idea - putting that on my ideas list now. Do you season the meat with anything?

EvaTheOptimist · 21/01/2015 11:17

Still here... reading pages.. (its only been 2 days!)

MrsK I've had issues with family telling me low-carbing is "dangerous" and a "short-term fad" and it is difficult. I think my advice is not to reply to any critical comments from your parents, don't get drawn into any conversation about it.

That's OK up to a point, but it can still leave you feeling resentful...

In the end, the proof will be in the lack of pudding. I've lost 3 stone and kept it off and so no matter how critical my family are, I'm slimmer than them and they can't deny it worked!

sassandfaff · 21/01/2015 11:32

Well I'm sat here a little floored.

Picked a piece of paper up off the kitchen floor and had a look before going to put it in the bin. It was a business post it with a women's name and number written on it. The business was a pregnancy advice clinic. Shock

Oh god did my head and heart churn for 5 mins. I knew it wasn't me, so that only left the 14 yr old dd. Christ I nearly had a heart attack.

Phoned them up and the way they answered I remembered where it was from. I was nearly crying with relief. I think she thought I was mad!

I really think a consultant in a NHS hospital should not be using abortion clinic post its!

If I wasn't hell bent on doing dryuary, I would be glugging a bourbon right now.

lurkingmurking · 21/01/2015 11:34

Thanks sass

I'm not telling anyone I'm lcing - they will only try and put me off. I also don't want my Mum to copy me (as she does in absolutely anything I do).

sassandfaff · 21/01/2015 11:35

Sorry I mean they shouldn't be using them because of the confusion it could cause, not because I'm anti abortion. (In case anyone reads it that way)

Fatstacks · 21/01/2015 11:42

Morning Smile I would have had the biscuit in my mouth as I dialled Sass!

B. 2 coffee with cream two mashed boiled eggs 50g smoked cod lion from last night two spring onions with butter.
L. Cheese olives and ham.
D. Chicken wrapped in pate spread ham with kale.

18 gallon of fruit tea.
At least. still tastes like pish

galbraith · 21/01/2015 11:44

Thanks ElectraCute, that makes me feel a lot better, glad I'm not that only one! I can't believe how anguished I was about four prawn crackers, that is verrrry abnormal for me, ha.

And Mrsstevejones thank you for your fajita recipe, sounds delish! Definitely going to try them over the weekend.

ChippingInLatteLover · 21/01/2015 11:44

sass. What a relief!! You are right though, she shouldn't be using them, however, I guess they don't have the funds to be too choosy about the stationery, so needs must I guess.

sassandfaff · 21/01/2015 11:51

fast ha that made me chuckle

I meant bourbon whiskey not the biscuit!

Grin

Bless your little innocence. Wink

MrsKoala · 21/01/2015 11:59

Crikey Sass that'd be a box of wine for me before i even made the phone call!

Chipping - yes they are difficult. Not helped by Dad's egg and fish allergy.

Lurking - the idea of individual ramekins is inspired! i have some lovely red heart shaped LeCreuset ones which rarely get an airing. Thanks to you all i now have a plan, Roasted chicken (lemon, butter and thyme) with roasted 'roots' (dished up in the kitchen - we have a crappy tiny table so i will blame that) and green veg and gravy/mayo on Friday night. Sat breakfast is not an issue because M&D don't eat when the get up, they have breakfast about 2. I can then do us all a cooked one and just omit the stuff dh and i can't have off the plates. Sat dinner = Peppered steak and individual dauphinoise pots/celeriac, broccoli and green beans (possibly prawn and avocado to start - It'll be a tribute to the 70s!).

Eva - i just explain again the concept to them every time and they say 'oh'. Confused They have seen me lose weight on it before, so it isn't new to them. Mum is doing 5:2, which to me sounds crazy and miserable, but i don't say that to her.

Fatstacks · 21/01/2015 12:18

Sorry Sass your post is clear but my one track biscuit mind hijacked it Grin

galbraith · 21/01/2015 12:22

One track biscuit mind GrinGrinGrin

BIWI · 21/01/2015 12:24

galbriath, today is another day so don't beat yourself up about indiscretions yesterday! I find it takes me a while to really get my head into the 'zone' of LC, iyswim - I eat or drink things without even thinking about them and then realise that, oops, carbtastic!

We are only on day 3! You absolutely should be beating yourself up about indiscretions, I'm afraid. This WOE is very, very unforgiving if you cheat and especially in this initial two week phase it's really important to stick to the plan. If you don't, all you're doing is self-sabotage, and delaying the transition from carb-burning to fat-burning. You really do have to more in control and more thoughtful about what you're eating. Which means thinking about what you're buying and what you're putting in your mouth!

I can't believe how anguished I was about four prawn crackers

And so you should be!

Eg: have just remembered that last night I had a (tiny, in my defence) glass of apple juice at my rehearsal - didn't even think about it at the time, had completely forgotten about it this morning. But hey, it's done, all you can do is be more mindful next time

No matter how tiny, that will have been really carby. I would have expected more vigilance seeing as we're only at the start of Bootcamp!

Seriously folks, it's your weight loss you're impeding. I can wave my big stick around and shout at you all day, but ultimately you are in charge!

galbraith · 21/01/2015 12:35

BIWI Eeek, I think that was the boot to the arse that I need! Blush

Notso · 21/01/2015 12:43

Is there anyway to know how carby sausages are? I was planning on having them for dinner but they're from a naice butchers hours away so have no labelling. They are high meat content 85% IIRC.

Thumbwitch · 21/01/2015 12:47

Well I feel bad posting directly after that stick-waving, but still - if I can't be honest, there's really no point being here, is there.

B - spoonful of yoghurt - didn't really have time for more
L - 4 baby bel cheeses - we were out at the museum with friends, and I didn't have much else in the way of portable snacks to take with me
and that's where the next bit went wrong - I did completely forget that I was doing this, and had a strawberry smoothie. Idiot!
Back on track for dinner though - 3 egg omelette - mushroom, spring onion, coriander fried in butter, then the eggs and cheese on top. Very nice! But lost some of it to the gannets DSs.
No snacks - lots of water (probably still not enough though) - early to bed (for me) again and tomorrow I will be back on track fully again.
Still can't believe I forgot. And also how stupid I felt about it. Blush

lurkingmurking · 21/01/2015 12:51

BIWI wow, you are fabulous!

Just met Mr L for a delicious lunch at Itsu. We shared a salmon sashimi and a tuna & salmon sushimi salad thing. It was delish!

Almahart · 21/01/2015 12:57

I had a bit of cheddar and celery before leaving house v early and two coffees with cream. Total yoghurt and another coffee (black). Was starving by 11 so had a pack of olives and a couple of pats of butter Confused

Feel like I'm struggling today, anyone else? Clothes def feel looser though. Lunch will be chicken and egg salad

projectbabyweight · 21/01/2015 13:01

I did the same last night after a late meeting Almahart, couldn't be bothered to make a snack so I ate some butter off a spoon - gross or sensible? You decide Grin

PseudoBadger · 21/01/2015 13:04

Having to improvise lunch. M&S prawn cocktail, hot smoked salmon and waitrose mozzarella balls with tomatoes and basil. All individually below 3g/100g and am grazing on them between now and 4pm.

miffy49 · 21/01/2015 13:16

Notso You should be able to ring them and ask. My son is a chef and he told me that all the regulations have changed now and that anywhere preparing food for sale has to have a list of all their recipes and nutritional/allergy info. Butchers have always, in theory, had to be able to give the percentage of fat/meat/fillers in sausages as the health inspectors can drop in at any time and test samples.

If you don't want to be bothered with that, at 85% meat, the very most carb you can have will be 15% ie 15gr in 100gr product. It will be less than that because the 15% will include water and seasonings. At least you know that next time you can ask them to provide a breakdown if its not in small print on the counter ticket.

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 21/01/2015 13:16

Heres my lunch. :) its gorgeous, thank you Mrsstevejones for the idea!!

Frozen spinach, broccoli, an avocado, coconut oil and double cream, whizzed up in the blender with some water.
