Ooo lovely!

My snacky things are cucumber, peperami if out, hard boiled eggs, cheese bit like biwi on the tangy. I do find the transition into ketosis tricky, not carb flu wise, just thinking I'm hungry. Once there I kinda tick along.

Tis DHs birthday tomorrow and we are away to Edinburgh. Will make the best choices I can. But will be absolutely ready for Monday.

With the water, I def get used to it. No longer up eleventy times at night. And so much better when I go steadily rather than downing huge glasses at a go. Have a 2L bottle and just get to the end by the end of the day. But that's in addition to herbal teas etc.

trashcanjunkie · 25/09/2014 11:13

I have had coconut cream in my coffee, but it was the middle of summer, and I chucked it in the blender with a load of ice. It came out like the most excellent creamy frappucino (sp?) I imagine it'll be just fine hot too. Snackwise tenement I heartily recommend Asda's 'salaminis' they are tiny little pepperami type sausages, but nicer, and if you need an extra thing to go with them, a little pot of egg mayo (if not homemade check carb count) to dip them in. bloody satisfying for a lunch on the go. I also love their little pots of garlic and herb anchovies, but that's not everyones taste! They have a great selection of olives too. If you're on the move, a little cool bag with those freezer packs can keep stuff in the car very well. I felt like a nob doing all the food faffing at first, but honestly, I don't think twice about it now, and it means I eat regular as clockwork, breakfast, lunch and dinner - rarely snack, and it is the best way for the weight to just keep melting off. I joined bc in January and am 2 stone lighter now.

BitchyTakesOnManagement · 25/09/2014 11:14

Can't wait until Monday. Had a bit of a wake up call this morning. Been letting bread creep back into my diet a bit too much. I am not supposed to be eating it. Ouchies... Sad

Funny how easy it is to let things slip, and horrible how much is actually matters. Nice to see lots of familiar faces.

Parsley1234 · 25/09/2014 13:08

Please add me ! Thank you

Tenementfunster · 25/09/2014 13:27

Thanks for recommendation. Just got a vat of Mayo from sainsburys.
Lost loads this time last year so am hoping to shift more on this bc.

miffy49 · 25/09/2014 14:20

As we all need more salt on this WOE, can I mention that Aldi have the little mills of fancy salt back on offer again. Theres Himalayan pink, Cyprus smoked and Persian blue all at 99p.

aNoteToFollowSo · 25/09/2014 14:32

Ok, so how does it all work from Monday onwards? A new thread? A new eating plan? (a new body???)

BIWI · 25/09/2014 14:42

aNote - on Monday we will have a brand new, sparkling Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for us to enter our start weights. (You can index it if you don't want to put your actual weight - so start at 100 and take away 1 for every pound you lose (or add one for every pound you gain!).

And, MNHQ very kindly create a Weight Tracker for us, which is private and individual, so you can keep track of your progress then.

I will start a Week 1 chat thread, as well as a separate thread for questions. The first week chat thread tends to move very quickly, so it's better to separate questions from general chat - that way, if you have a question, its more likely to be spotted and answered.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 25/09/2014 15:39

Oooooooooooo, you're spoiling us Grin

HumphreyCobbler · 25/09/2014 15:43

Hello, just to say that I don't weigh myself so don't worry about putting me on the spreadsheet Smile

Tenementfunster · 25/09/2014 16:12

Actually I won't do the weigh in either. History of ED and just creates too much pressure and stress on me and actually leads me to sabotaging my efforts.
A looser waistband is reward enough

Figrus · 25/09/2014 17:04

Hi , I've already signed up. Just sitting here daydreaming about how well i will look in 10 weeks time weighing 10-20 pounds less:-).

Can i still eat green smoothies? Full fat milk, bananna, whey powder, spinach and cucumber. Thanks.

BIWI · 25/09/2014 19:30

No - sorry! Banana is definitely out on Bootcamp.

Can I just share with you all a fabulous (if I say so myself) evening meal?

A piece of roast pork (with crackling), which I served with braised fennel, new potatoes (for DH) and leeks in cheese sauce.

Pork was placed on a large onion that had been cut into chunks (so making a kind of trivet in the roasting tin), with some water, and roasted for just shy of 2 hours.

Fennel was cut into quarters, parboiled for 5 minutes, and then gently pan fried in butter and olive oil until browned. Juice of half a lemon squeezed over it as well.

Leeks were cut into lengths of around 3-4 inches, then chargrilled in a griddle pan, until soft. Then put into a serving dish with a cheese sauce.

Cheese sauce made from a small pot of double cream and around 3-4 ounces of mature cheddar. Lots of black pepper and a squeeze of lemon juice too. Pour the cheese sauce over the leeks and bake in a hot oven for around 10-15 minutes, until it's starting to brown around the sides.

HumphreyCobbler · 25/09/2014 21:10

mmmmmmmm
have never added lemon to cheese sauce, will do so next time

BIWI · 25/09/2014 21:14

Oh it works really well! Adds a lovely sharpness.

BestIsWest · 25/09/2014 21:32

I bought some cheese with lemon in at a country fair the other day. It was gorgeous.

FannyBurney · 25/09/2014 22:18

I am so looking forward to the official starting line, and I'm very inspired by all you enviably slim old hands. I've done nearly a week now, but included almonds and the odd glass of wine.

I once followed the IPD, but lost the confidence of my convictions, as I hadn't read enough about the health benefits to be sure about cutting carbs down. Now I'm much fatter and in the long run, I need to be 2 st lighter (or 2.5?), but no hurry.

In the meantime I will continue to gorge myself on fat and slosh the water down. I'm not missing starch, but I think the wine will be more of a prob to give up than I like to think - which is an excellent reason to do it. Unfortunately I have a work formal dinner followed by a wine-tasting family birthday party to go to on the first weekend - so my plan is to avoid carbs, take it easy on the booze, and then get right back on it afterwards, and not switch to 'light' for a couple of weeks after that..

Today I went and found a massive pack of pork crackling things (a first for me) and ate them all. Were delicious and guilt free, but disturbingly meaty burps for hours afterwards.

ItAintNecessarilySo · 26/09/2014 10:25

I'd like to join too, please. I've had great success with lowcarbing in the past and started again on 8th September: have lost 10lbs but would really appreciate group support as I have a lot more to lose. Thanks BIWI for doing this.

Hello all!
Please can I join too - this is my only chance to sort myself out pre Christmas
I had some success on this regime about two years ago then got a BFP a few weeks in and have been on a sleep deprived slippery slope of sugar crazed carby twatdom ever since. Blush
Current weight is an all time high.
Really need something to give me focus and discipline - so hope this thread and BIWI stick waving is it.
Roll on Monday!
