Next Low Carb Bootcamp starts 21/7 and is only a 5 week one - sign up here!

Next Bootcamp is going to be a slightly different one from the norm.

It's only going to be for 5 weeks, but it's going to be stricter than the others.

The plan is that the first week will be Ubercamp, which is a no dairy version of Bootcamp; weeks 2 and 3 will be Bootcamp and then weeks 4 and 5 will be Bootcamp Light.

If you just want to Bootcamp (rather than Ubercamp) you're still more than welcome to join!

Anyway, if you want to join in, sign up here.

Add your name to the list, and cut & paste it into a new post.

Someone please add me?
Seriously fallen off the wagon today, can't wait to get back on

Plonky I find ubercamp drastically curbs my appetite as it's very low carb. I didn't follow the ubercamp recipes due to an avocado aversion and not being able to eat eggs so I used MFP to keep below 20g per day.

Please can you add me? Need to get back on proper serious bootcamp and lose another stone.

Blimey, Plonky - how on earth is that not enough food?!

That said, the principle behind ubercamp is that it's dairy-free (which doesn't include butter - you are allowed butter). You don't have to do the weighing of veg if you don't want to - but it's key that you stick to low carb veg for the period of ubercamp. Which means veg that's 3g of carbs per 100g.

It's a small breakfast BIWI. I'm stupidly hungry in the mornings, could easily eat three eggs for breakfast, have a good sized lunch three hours later and then a small dinner. I've been low carbing for about a month and I've found my appetite has just done this as a result.

The lunches and dinners look about right, but the breakfasts suggested are too small for me.

Plonkysaurus - I imagine you could switch meals around to match your appetite.

How are you eating your eggs? Could you have scrambled with extra butter, or fried eggs? You could always have bacon as well? As long as it's low/no carb and no dairy you can do what you like!

Schro you can still have mayo. Egg, oil, lemon juice.

Argh! I can't paste the list and get to the bottom to add myself on my phone, can someone add me please before I throw this phone out the window?

BIWI I tend to have them scrambled or as an omelette. I cook everything in butter!

I've just had a 3 egg omelette with broccoli and mushrooms, and a tiny bit of mozzerella. But I've been up since 5.30 and staaarving. I think my problem is that I work from home, and all this food is just there, calling softly to me all morning until I'm stuffed.

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 16/07/2014 10:19

Jimmy I don't know why I said mayo!
Starting a 3 day egg fast tomorrow in prep for this, can't wait! I have about 2.5 to lose to get to where I want, hoping all this will help.

Plonky If you could eat 3 eggs in the morning then why not? We don't have to eat the specified meals, do we? They're just a guide really, aren't they?

Can I join please? I'm also on my phone so I will copy and paste later when I'm on the PC. I've done Zoe Harcombe before and the uber week looks a lot like her first week.

Plonky - if you're ravenously hungry, then it does suggest that

a) you're not eating enough
b) you're not eating enough fat (or protein) to satiate you
c) you're not drinking enough water - dehydration can often be interpreted as a sign of hunger

But I also wonder how much of your eating is to satisfy emotional rather than physical hunger? Are you eating because you're bored?

Schro that egg fast sounds interesting and a lot easier than a fat fast.

I'll go for option D BIWI, I think I'm very bored but also quite stressed. Oh and AF due.

Hmm.

Stunt I really don't fancy a fat fast either, I like eggs and cheese and butter and it's only 3 days so I just think, why not. :) If I do that before ubercamp then dairy free but with meat and veg will probably seem great.

Could a kind person please add me, can't do it on my phone!
I've been low carbing for the last 4 weeks with great success but could do with an ubercamp kick up the butt. I have my sisters wedding in 5 weeks so the timing is perfect. I'll have to finish up my strawberries and jelly this week in preparation.

I tried a fat fast and it was awful. Didn't really shift anything to make it worthwhile. Probably because fat fast plus codeine based painkillers equals concrete! (TMI!)

I love eggs, cheese and butter. I could be happy with those. Just knocked off dairy already. Weight is all over the place, trend line now points to the stars and BG is back up so I decided I need to act before Monday.Sad

Tentatively dipping my toe in the water here yet again ... as you know lovely BIWI, I am rubbish at dieting but I'm as round as a butter ball at the moment and I need to do something FAST. Or I will explode like Aunt Marge in Harry Potter.

Going to read up on this Ubercamp malarkey - I am hopeless at working menus out though and cba cooking. Can't do belly pork or cheeks or any of that stuff. Bleugh.

I need to go to BIWI's house for five weeks and be TOLD what to eat, and be beaten with a Big Stick if I'm bad.

At the risk of sounding like the thread dunce...what's a fat fast? is it an only fast diet for a short time?

Nell embrace the belly pork. Your own belly (and bank balance) will thank you! I'd happily never eat chicken breast and pork loin again now I'm used to the flavour of fattier cuts [goes off in search of chicken thigh meat for dinner]
