If you're interested in joining us, sign up here. Bootcamp lasts for 10 weeks, and starts with two strict weeks, before you move on to Bootcamp Light for the remaining 8 weeks.

You aren't allowed to eat:

potatoes
pasta
rice/noodles
bread
sugar
flour

And for the first two weeks you can't eat fruit or drink alcohol

The idea behind Bootcamp is that whilst it should be strict (and therefore, hopefully, work!) that it should also be easy - therefore there is no weighing or counting of anything. Just ten rules that you need to follow.

So if you're interested - put your name down here!

Oh and babs, I just read your thread, and you are in the right place. I have lost about 6 stone (not all on this woe, but this has been the easiest and most dramatic woe for me, never going back to low fat). I just wanted to say you can do this, your life will get good in ways you can't even imagine and a year from now I just know you will feel bloody fantastic and so very proud of yourself.

BIWI · 28/04/2014 10:23

Redlips - no need for you to eat anything different from your family - all you're doing is not eating the carbs that they might be - like potatoes. You can eat extra low carb veg, or salad, if you want. The key to success in this WOE, IMVHO and IME is when you make it as normal as possible. It won't do the rest of your family any harm to eat fewer carbs either. It's not just about losing weight, it's also about better health.

Can I do this whilst BF a 3 week old? I piled on the weight this pregnancy, and need to think about shifting it. Craving cake and chocolate hourly...

curiousgeorgie · 28/04/2014 10:37

I'm in!

I started with you all in January previously and did brilliantly for 2 weeks, then got pneumonia and fell off the wagon when I was better!

I'm going to Florida in September and really want to make a difference to myself before then!

slimsoon · 28/04/2014 11:45

I am in .
I was following 54wks to lose 54 lbs thead but everyone left :( and I got lonely.

Lost 28 1bs in 17wks and have another 30lbs to go.
I have done it all on low carbs/primal eating whilst cooking for a family.
Everyone is eating heathier food.
The only challenge I have so far -going to a "dinner" party when pizza was the only meal option and on aeroplanes.
I have just ordered gluten free meal for a flight next week , plus will pack meat and salad in case. Will report back.

ada1 · 28/04/2014 11:50

Please how do we start? Do we have to sign in to a different page?

BIWI · 28/04/2014 12:48

ada1 - I will start a new thread called something like May Low Carb Bootcamp, Week 1.

TiaDalma · 28/04/2014 13:12

Count me in! I know I'm going to struggle, I eat high carbs with every meal, I'm quite very fussy with food and absolutely can't cook. But I have this last stubborn stone to loose. Ds is now 2 and it is about time I was back in my pre-pregnancy jeans!
I'm already thinking what meals I can have, this is how my train of thought went...
Mmmm I could have bacon ... And sausages .... And egg ... Ouuuu that's sounds lovely with some toast to dip in the egg. Confused

alleypalley · 28/04/2014 13:26

Quick question Biwi as I couldn't see it on the spreadsheet. Is soya milk ok to have?

LittleMissDisorganized · 28/04/2014 14:13

I use soya milk alley - personally I think it's fine, it's lower carb I think than double cream tho doesn't have the fat in. Soya yogurt is a mixed blessing, alpro soya cream is nice in coffee.

alleypalley · 28/04/2014 15:48

Thanks LittleMiss. I get through a lot of coffee a day and don't really like it black.

JimmyCorkhill · 28/04/2014 16:05

Redlips, I have been moving over to this WOE for a few months and probably spend less now on food than before. I no longer snack or buy 'treats', I simply eat my meals and that's enough.

LittleMissDisorganized · 28/04/2014 16:05

I managed to cut my coffee right down - as per the rules, obviously ;) and I recommend it only so that you have more chance to drink all the water and are less dependent on something for the way that you feel (ie. awake!) - but if you can't then soya milk - unsweeteened by the way - is probably the best thing to put in it IMO. Are you intolerant or is it just by choice?

ada1 · 28/04/2014 16:15

Great biwi I will look forward to it. Need to start on the shopping list to get ready

alleypalley · 28/04/2014 16:48

Oh I missed the bit about cutting down on coffee. Soya milk by choice, not intolerant. I'll cut down then and try more water, and maybe fruit teas instead, I assume they're ok?

When I've detoxed before I've got terrible headaches from caffeine withdrawal so I may need to cut down gradually. Smile

Me too! V excited - so need to do this!

FanDanceLil · 28/04/2014 19:43

I have taken Biwi's advice and spoke with my GP. He didn't see a problem with me trying low carb but obviously advised vigilance if I start to feeling symptoms.
I've been making changes to my diet for 2 weeks now after reading Eat Yourself Thin but I've downloaded Dr.Briffa's book and I'm working my way through the science bit Smile.

Hissy · 28/04/2014 19:43

Can I just check, it's ok to drink black coffee? Black tea?

Bought my fave lidl Greek yoghurt today in readiness. NOT the low fat one.

:)

MissTFied · 28/04/2014 21:19

I'm in.

I am generally a healthy eater (I don't eat bread, pasta, rice and potatoes, no alcohol) but have taken to stuffing my face with sweets and chocolate of an evening, totally undoing my day's good work of exercise and a healthy breakfast and lunch. I am someone who needs structure.

What I will miss is my morning oats, nuts, berries and cinnamon, made with hot water. Can I have this on bootcamp light after the two weeks, or is it no oats ever again?

ArtiBartfast · 28/04/2014 21:35

think its about time I admitted the romance has gone, farewell tasty treats. I'm in

weaseleyes · 28/04/2014 21:35

Can I join, please? I lost just over 3 stone low-carbing last year, but have lapsed. I also need to lose another 4 stone eventually.

BIWI · 28/04/2014 21:45

MissTFied - no oats during Bootcamp at all. But you will be able to have (some) nuts and berries when you're in Bootcamp Light.

Lhamo09 · 28/04/2014 22:17

Jesuisunepapillon your post has really inspired me, well done on your weight loss.

Angnurse · 28/04/2014 22:21
