I'm starting next week's thread a bit early as I have to be up and out of the house at sparrow's crack tomorrow.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

And don't forget the weight tracker

It may seem like we're nearly at the end, but still the chance to lose up to another half a stone, if you can lose 2lbs a week!

Hope everyone has a good week. Mine is a bit of a minefield - out tomorrow night to celebrate both of my DCs' birthdays, and then out on Thursday with some MNetter friends, and I don't think we will be drinking sparkling water!

Good luck everyone. Flowers

Trash its a good job you're not a cat or you'd be down to 2 lives with everything that's hit you in the last week.

Twit fingers crossed for tonight. DS didn't sleep between 9-34 months, I used to go to work for a rest. My lovely boss used to have a brew ready while I had 10 mins on the comfy chair in the corner of his office. Now I can't get the bastard out of bed DS not boss before 1pm at the weekend.

Heir tikka - great idea, that's lunch sorted for a couple of days.

LMD hope you're mouth heals quickly and you don't bruise too much.

Whoosh I do my eggs in the microwave as well why dirty a pan and a bowl but the bowl's a sod to clean when I put cheese in for the last 30 secs.

Remember my parking fine for not displaying the ticket when it blew over on the dashboard because it was windy as fuck well the twats won't cancel it because the 'onus is on the driver to ensure the ticket is properly displayed' WANKERS, you can imagine the email response. DH is going to make a FOI request to see how many challenges they receive & decline and what percentage are for failure to display properly.

In the meantime don't go to Southport, its a shithole, and they're robbing jobsworths knew we should've gone to Wales Angry

Notsoskinnyminny · 05/03/2014 19:20

Asda do longley farm ff cottage cheese and its only 2.4g carbs, most of the others are 5g+

I can't eat it raw so I mix it with eggs and cream to make a crustless quiche.

trashcanjunkie · 05/03/2014 19:51

I love cottage cheese. It was Langley farm too. I poured sesame oil and salt and pepper over it.. really sorted my faint hungryness. Still shitting through the eye of a needle. Groo Grin

Twit · 05/03/2014 20:14

I love cottage cheese too.
Am feeding babyTwit right now so any sleep through the night vibes would be greatly appreciated Grin
ewan I have instructed him to send sleepy thoughts. Hopefully we will both get a good night's sleep. It's unlikely as babyTwit is 2 1/2 and has done it ONCE. Last night.

On a slightly tmi note, I find dairy can give me the shits.

BowieBaby · 05/03/2014 20:15

Thanks for the welcome. Will check out the advice for toning. Went for my first c25k run today. Ouch! I am not designed for running.

Durham - I adore the man! Always good to find a fellow fan.

Just making dinner - Bolognese with spinach and broccoli.

amazonianwoman · 05/03/2014 20:25

Thanks stuntnun and suzy for the coffee and tea tips. I tried strong coffee with a teaspoon of coconut oil - it was palatable Smile I can't face the thought of adding butter yet... There's no way I could add it and cream to tea though - brings back too many memories of the disgustingly creamy tea in India and Indonesia. I can't even drink tea with full fat milk.

Anyway, I have now survived THREE days without falling off the wagon! Patting myself on the back, 4.5lbs down already Smile I made time for scrambled eggs this morning, very nice. I feel better already.

Still haven't had time to read the thread properly, but thanks all for the advice and hope you're all doing well.

WhooshFuckerFairy · 05/03/2014 21:33

tenementfunster - it's me Hugh Jarse with a name change - as I have been swearing at the whoosh fairy for 4 weeks waiting for my stall to end !

Hope the rear end has dried up trashy - hope you haven't been on the sugar free haribos - this is no way to cheat the whoosh fairy !Grin

SayraT · 05/03/2014 22:49

Just coming on to SMS™ (I've just learnt how to do the ™ and ® so putting them everywhere Smile)

Quite an enjoyable day at work which was very amusing, we all had to go on a training course "Dignity and Respect". All about harassment and bullying, wasn't looking forward to it as it was to be 3 hours long but my group are enormous fun and it was actually a good laugh.

My boss is quite a huggy person and I am not but sometimes we hug and the woman was talking about inappropriate touching when it is unwanted just before we had a coffee break. At coffee another of my colleagues who knows I am not a huggy person pretended to hug me by putting his arms around me from behind (not touching), I jumped because I got a fright and manged to stick both my boobs in his hands which was hilarious Grin The poor guy was very embarrassed and kept saying "I'm sorry, I am so sorry", I don't think the training woman quite knew what to do with us.

Had my mum round for dinner tonight (she comes and visits me every fortnight which is really nice) made a sort of moussaka/lasagna/invention thingy. It was an aubergine and meat sauce layered thing Confused

B: Coffee with cream
L: Left overs of braised fennel, pork shoulder steak and spinach
D: Aubergine and beef mince bake with mozzarella cheese on top
S: Berries with cream

SayraT · 06/03/2014 07:56

Me again, talking to myself by the looks of things.

Does anyone know what has happened to me? I am a daily weigher (I know some people just can't but don't have any issues with doing this) and after 8 weeks I have a fair idea of my daily fluctuations. I don't usually go up or down by more than 0.5 lbs per day. This morning when I weighed I was 10 lbs heavier than yesterday!!!

I am presuming that I haven't suddenly put on 10 lbs of fat but what is it? It seems a lot, I haven't changed my eating habits (had carby weekends last two weeks but put on over weekend and lost during week, only 5 lbs ish). Is it this catching up on me?

I am not overly concerned I will just see what they say tomorrow, was wondering if anyone else had had a big increase like this in one day.

B: Coffee with cream
L: Left over aubergine bake
D: Left over aubergine bake - need to have dinner at work so this is easy

Will have salad with the lunch portion.

WhooshFuckerFairy · 06/03/2014 08:28

Did anyone just hear on the radio - British women have the most leisure time ....... .... Unless you count having a wee ..... Grrrrr

DurhamDurham · 06/03/2014 08:37

SayraT hopefully someone with much more knowledge than me will be along in a moment. But I think a 10lb gain could be glycogen levels being replenished in the liver. If you have eaten carbs the levels do go up a lot and can way several pounds.

Of course I may be talking utter rubbish!! But you are right in that you cannot possibly have put on that much weight in fast overnight!!

arselikekylie · 06/03/2014 08:37

sayra either your scales are shagged or you need a huge poo.

Can't see how it's possible to put on anywhere near 10lb in a day Confused

Pleaseandthankyou · 06/03/2014 08:40

Sara maybe the scales are faulty. I seem to have lost all my willpower this boot camp. Real life is getting in the way and giving into temptation too often. My high waisted jeans were very loose around my waist so I have bought an expensive pair (in the sale but still££) in a size smaller and low rise. Now to reduce the overhang

captainmummy · 06/03/2014 08:45

Sayra - what a shock! I think your scales might be on the way out?

HeirToTheIronThrone · 06/03/2014 09:16

Apologies to infinity for the source of the link (Daily Mail if you don't want to click) but this this is front page news today!

My favourite person in the comments says "Your body needs sugar to survive, it's essential........ Go save us from these so called experts please!" - um, ok!!

A bit of SMS - scrambled eggs for breakfast, tuna salad for lunch then whatever I buy on the way home this evening. Last night I made the best LC 'shepherds pie' I've done so far - mince fried in butter with leek, celery and a bit of chopped carrot, added stock, Worcester sauce, fresh rosemary and parsley, then topped with blitzed cauliflower to which I had added a handful of grated cheddar and dollop of cream cheese - really good.

Trash I don't really like custard creams either, but the work biscuit tin was full of them, and I was feeling very sorry for myself. Not worth it at all, I am 2lbs up on my Monday weight this morning, and whilst I would like to put it down to muscle having now done TWO days of Shred, I doubt it!

DurhamDurham · 06/03/2014 09:16

See I said more knowledgeable people would be along. I was trying to be ahem 'clever' spouting nonsense about glycogen levels when in fact your scales are probably knackered!! GrinGrin

WhooshFuckerFairy · 06/03/2014 09:31

sayra .... Convinced scales are toast .... Unless you have lead pants on or had 20 heavy fillings at the dentist yesterday ! Keep away from scales for a few days - keep honest on the food/ fat / water and then recheck with a new battery .
Off to buy some new jeans today - I need ' intermediate ' pair - my 'fat' jeans now fall off Grin but ' test ' jeans from 20 years ago are refusing to budge past thought area ..... Anyway - I deserve new ones .......
Wish me look - I hate changing rooms with those bastard hateful mirrors .... I get most things online - but jeans I need to try as have tree trunk legs that are hard to please

WhooshFuckerFairy · 06/03/2014 09:32

Thigh area .... Stop correcting me phone !

GatoradeMeBitch · 06/03/2014 10:01

I am fully back on board with this now, the sugar cravings seem to have gone finally. I can't stand to weigh myself yet though; if I've gained too much it will upset me. I'll save it for Monday morning.

We need sugar to survive?! It doesn't even grow in this country does it? At least not naturally. Surely if humans NEEDED something, it would be readily available!

WhooshFuckerFairy · 06/03/2014 10:07

We do need glucose - but we get it from our veg etc and if we needed more - our clever bodies can convert it from protein ....

BowieBaby · 06/03/2014 10:13

I'm sure the sugar industry would like us to bbc believe we need it to survive.

I need to lose another two stone to be healthy bmi. Just done my first ever day of 30 day shred and I'm dying. Now hoping it gets easier...

HeirToTheIronThrone · 06/03/2014 10:27

Bowie we can be Shred buddies - day two for me, DH is disgusted that I can only do 12 press ups (and that's the 'easy' knees ones...) My legs now hurt to the extent I do a little groan every time I stand up from my desk...

captainmummy · 06/03/2014 10:31

'Our bodies need sugar to survive?' - How do they think animals like gorillas and chimps etc (Our closest animals) survive then? Pretty sure they don't run a sugar-processing plant.

Twit · 06/03/2014 11:11

sarya this happened to me circa week two. You all know the rest.

Well, he woke again last night, so back to being tired again today.

Today's menu.

BPC
Water (1litre)
Omelette
Water (1litre)
Buttery spinach and pork belly
Water (1litre)
Cauli cheese and pork belly
Water (1litre).

All cooked with butter, cream added where appropriate etc. eat until not hungry etc. we'll see, we'll see.

Thumbwitch · 06/03/2014 11:38

Our bodies emphatically do NOT need sugar to survive. Our quickest form of energy is glucose, but we can make it ourselves (gluconeogenesis) from carbon skeletons derive from either amino acids or fatty acids. We need fat and protein because we can NOT make fatty acids or amino acids ourselves from other things; we can change the length of fatty acids, and of course we can build proteins from a pool of amino acids, but that's all.

Of course we can also get sugar from complex carbs too, but these still aren't essential (just easier on our biochemistry)
