Morning all.
Supersal I was thinking the same, that it might be better not to go into too much detail if eating something very non-BC, just to avoid causing cravings.
Prettybird We had our total fill of cauliflower sides in some point too. Just couldn’t face it in any form in ages then. Luckily that’s now passed.
Chester I now have duck and mousse envy. Hope it’s nice!
Trash Yes to coconut oil in herbal teas, and I like it in green tea too. :) Well done resisting the chocolates.
Lighthouse Take your own snacks/food with you. It might be hard to find any LC stuff on the road, and so much harder to resist buying the carby stuff.
ElBombero Three weeks of staying the same doesn’t sound bad in any way to me. I’m sure at least some older Atkins books for example wouldn’t talk about an actual stall until you’ve stayed the same for a six weeks ^without any cheats or let ups at all. If you wanna try going dairy free or caffeine free etc I’d try one thing at a time for a few weeks (one week’s not really enough for your system to clear up of something, if you’re intolerant), so that if it works you know what was the problem.
Crabby - Glad to hear DD’s on the mend. That’s all really interesting about the flooding and the Dutch. I’ve done reading on local history and was really surprised to learn just how dramatically our little town has flooded in the past, though it’s definitely not a flood risk area now. And yes, British shenanigans and happenings seem to be in the news elsewhere much more so than the other way around. You wouldn’t expect to hear anything about the weather in Finland in British media, unless something very dramatic indeed happened, but their papers and news seem to cover every storm over here, for some reason.
I had some berries and cream yesterday, like I was kind of planning. I was just feeling randomly cravey and starting to fantasize about ice cream etc, so it seemed like the most decent thing to “cheat” with. It was so filling I then didn’t eat my lunch.
Chicken soup was amazing. I often too lazy to bother faffing about with chicken carcasses, but it was worth the effort. Loads of cream and butter were involved, too, and shallots, garlic, herbs, green beans, turnip and a small carrot.
No Valentine’s Day celebrations over here this year. It’s DH’s birthday on Monday and we’ll have some LC cheesecake then, but decided not to bother with anything today. DH might bring a bottle of wine home in the evening, but we’ll see.
Food plan is:
B: Same old fried eggs and coconut oily coffee (I’m clearly a creature of habit!)
L: Last night’s chicken soup – yay!
S: Leerdammer, I guess, if needed.
D: Smoked mackerel and salad. And maybe a glass of wine.
