Wow! So much nattering that we've filled up the thread before the end of the week!

Here's the link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for tomorrow morning.

And, for the Weight Tracker I'm not quite sure what happens with this link I think that you will be asked to enter your weight for this week and then you will see your individual graph.

I hope you all had a good week last week, and very good luck for week 2.

BIWI I am drinking at least 2l every day, but most days more. What would you suggest for more fat intake?

CointreauVersial · 24/01/2014 22:29

Just checking in......I am Bootcamping, even if I'm not posting.

I have been good as GOLD all week, although I am now enjoying a Friday night glass of red wine (just been to the gym, so there. I'm road testing the PruHealth Vitality programme on behalf of MN, so have lots of fitness and health goals).

Yummy meals I have enjoyed this week:

Oopsie rolls and goats cheese
Boiled eggs with those ready cooked bacon strips for dipping. Or asparagus if I have time
Burger with melted cheese topping, with mashed celeriac
Haddock topped with butter/cheese, served with samphire
Low carb sausages with spiced cauliflower
Salad with prawns/mayo/avocado
Pizza chicken (flattened chicken breast, topped with salsa and mozzarella) with coleslaw

Downside: Constipation! Must be all those pesky eggs. Must buy some of those ground linseeds, as I'm partial to a linseed pancake. I also feel a bit bloated, as if I'm due a period.

I haven't checked for weight loss, as I am sticking to a weekly weigh in, but I am definitely still officially on the wagon apart from the red wine

Well done to all of you sticking with it.

SarahBeenysBumblingApprentice · 24/01/2014 22:59

Athelstane; that is such good news about the scales!

I'm so tired that I can't remember what I ate today but I do know that I'll be off piste a bit tomorrow. I have a boozy evening planned and a meal to cook for it. I have a coeliac coming which will actually make it easier to pass off the lc food!

I thought I'd do:
Starter: antipasti platter (lidl was great for this)
Mains: pork belly (I love pork) celeriac and swede boulangere and salad
Pud: chocolate tart with almond pastry ( think someone suggested this on the pre bootcamp thread) and Mascarpone

And I'm going to have one glass of wine (then possibly lots of vodka and soda)

The main challenge will be not eating the chocolate (all the chocolate, all to myself!)

If anyone has any better ideas please let me know!

Itsu looks lovely but there are none in the industrial wastelands of the midlands :-(

(I live in the county that shops forgot)

calzone · 24/01/2014 23:21

Library...you need to make parmesan shortbread for your cheese.SmileSmileSmile

9lbs down is amazing MyPrecious, well done! I'm sure the 2lbs (and more) will follow!

I think I need to work on how much I'm eating too - this WoE means I'm hungrier in the mornings than the evenings, a total reversal from before, and i'm struggling to adjust.

Today will not be low carb. I have a training run which i'm anticipating will take me six hours Hmm and i'm not adapted enough to do it low carb (maybe in six months or so!). Had to venture into the sugar section of the supermarket yesterday for sports drink and sweets - so many aisles dedicated to brightly dyed sugar and crap. I was Shock and also a little but smug.

ChesterDrawers · 25/01/2014 06:39

Wow, six hour run - hats off to you Hamsta. I trained for a half marathon while on Harcombe and had to give up the diet as I just couldn't wait to get adapted as it was interfering with my training.

Yesterday was good but all about the eggs!

B: bacon x2, fried egg, mushrooms on two oopsie rolls
L: 3 egg omellete with cheese and mushroom
D: 2.5 egg omelette with cheese, ham, shallot, mushroom

Last night we booked a holiday to south of France in mid June. Bikini a must. Really want to be at goal by then - do you really think I can lose two stone between now and then?

Today will be a challenge thanks to early rising DS 5 bloody am and a rubbish nights sleep. But I will persist.

FourArms · 25/01/2014 06:53

GermanGirlinLDN

The edamame beans are quite high in carbs. How many g would be in a meal?

SarahBeenysBumblingApprentice · 25/01/2014 07:30

Hamsta

Good luck with the rn today. Can I ask if you how the training is going when you're lc? ( I'm presuming most runs are a bit shorter than 6hrs!) I've been doing this for three weeks now and I just feel a bit too "flat" to run. I've assumed that I'm probably not drinking enough and also taking a long time to keto adapt. But I'm missing running!

GrumpyCrossPatch · 25/01/2014 07:52

SarahBeeney I did the gentle warm up an am now in week 2 it bootcamp proper. It has been like wading through treacle although this week I have found the first mile or so hard and then settled in to the run. I have been very slow though. I'm off for the Park Run shortly so we'll see how that goes.

EwanHoozami · 25/01/2014 08:33

I'm so jealous of all you runners. I'd love the discipline and solitude of it. Damn my dodgy SPD-ridden hips. 6 hours Shock

Just had the most wonderful breakfast. Omelette with smoked Bavarian ham, Camembert and spinach. Oof.

Lunch will be bresaola and avocado salad and dinner is smoked cod, poached egg, celeriac rosti and wasabi mayo.

Posh!

9lb is excellent myprecious, well done!

6 miles, Hamsta? What are you training for? Are you doing a/the marathon? I'm in awe. I have downloaded a C25K thing and need to get on with it. The crap weather has been my excuse so far but I really need to get a grip and start doing it.

Woken up feeling a bit nauseous still. I've read in one of my low-carb cookbooks that coconut oil on its own can make you feel queasy until you're used to it and this only started when I began to have a BPC in the mornings, so I'm wondering if that might be it. But you are right as ever, BIWI, water is what's needed

I have a very dull meeting to get through this afternoon and it's usually accompanied by Costa coffees and cakes - will make sure I have a decent lunch beforehand so I can say no to the cake and not be tempted by a latte.

sueh95 · 25/01/2014 09:13

Morning losers Grin

Not had time to log in yesterday - will have to catch up reading posts later

Yesterday
B 2 eggs mashed with butter -yum
L salad with leaves, olives, cucumber, small amount cheese, olive oil
D more salad, 1 egg, bacon, halloumi, avocado

I can see I'm still mainlining cheese but its in fridge so its gotta be used up!

Off to aerobics sesh this morning

Plan for today

B not hungry but had coffee with cream - going to try BPC tomorrow
L will be salad with sliced meat, oily dressing
D pork (cheek) curry and doing cauli rice for the first time

I'm hoping the trend will be my friend as the scales still aren't...Sad....I know I should avoid them and I really will after next Monday's weigh in I'm going to put them somewhere out of sight, promise.

calzone · 25/01/2014 09:13

Am down by 6.5lbs which I am thrilled about! GrinGrinGrin

Suzymoo - that's dreadful, isn't it? Glad your DH took things into his own hands, FAR better for him!

I'm failing to have breakfast. Again. That's at least 2, if not 3 days in a row now. Thing is, I don't normally have breakfast at all, so it's a bit of a behavioural shift for me to do so - and it's not working. All my willpower is going on eating LC (which I'm still doing far better than I thought I would!)

So:
L - baked ling in butter and coriander, with a butter and cream and coriander sauce, and cauliflower (with a few peas, sorry!)
D - haggis, neeps and tatties with green beans, followed by the now de rigueur yoghurt and double cream with vanilla essence.

More water today but probably still not enough. Was 12st2 on the scales this morning and fully expect to be 12st4 if I check this evening (again). I have also realised I can't add - in my last post I said I was routinely back to 174lb, but I mean 172. Think my brain isn't functioning so well without its glucose load!

Crabby - hope you're ok!

ChesterDrawers · 25/01/2014 09:51

Right, what will happen if I drink wine tonight? Will I gain?

I REALLY want some a bottle of crisp Sauvignon blanc but was 10st 10 this morning and so close to three figures for the first time in about a million years. I don't want to cock it up.

captainmummy · 25/01/2014 09:56

Germangirl -sorry I haven't been back. As biwi says , are you eating enough fat? Not sure of your weight, but 2litres water is the minimum, so maybe increase that too? Keep posting your meals, let's have a look. Oh and butter is not ' really really bad for you', your pt is talking balls. I suppose he says those low fat'spreads' made of emulsifiers, chemicals and colouring ( that even rats don't eat!)? Very good for you. :-(

Despite my petulant carping a week or so ago I've stuck with it, doggedly drunk the water and have been rewarded with another 2.5lb off, bringing my total loss since 6th Jan to 8.5lb Grin

AND I'm on and bloated so I'm going to leave it a good week before I weigh again. Hoping to get below 11st in a couple of weeks! :)

SarahBeenysBumblingApprentice · 25/01/2014 10:13

Chester and Precious - I am going for the "drink wine and risk a gain" option. You are welcome to say I told you so on Monday Blush

Good luck with the park run Grumpy! I think I might just have to bite the bullet and go for it.
