Wow! So much nattering that we've filled up the thread before the end of the week!

Here's the link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for tomorrow morning.

And, for the Weight Tracker I'm not quite sure what happens with this link I think that you will be asked to enter your weight for this week and then you will see your individual graph.

I hope you all had a good week last week, and very good luck for week 2.

PseudoBadger - [big fat envy face]

Lovecat · 24/01/2014 19:44

Wow Athelstane! That's amazing, well done :o

Just had gorgeous lamb chops with swede chips and green beans. Have been feeling a bit sick today, like I've got too much fat swilling around in my system. Is that possible?

B - 2 x eggs in a cup with butter
L - Broccoli & cheese soup
D - lamb chops, swede chips, green beans

Thanks all for the kind comments re. photos - I was just amazed to see how much my shape has changed despite 'only' losing 2.8lbs so far. Love this WoE! Now off to rehearsal and resist the temptation to have a drink...

PseudoBadger · 24/01/2014 19:46

Green & Blacks :)

Do you think it's OK to eat these Seaweed Thins? They are 0.9g carbs per pack.

I would have thought so Library, they look great.

BIWI · 24/01/2014 20:07

Evening all. Many apologies for not being around. I feel really bad about that. But it can't be helped, I'm afraid, as I have to work!

Glad to hear that you are actually going in the right direction Athelstane!

For all those of you who are struggling with the fat - obviously this has to work for you. So if you don't like frying, add butter to veg or oily dressings to salads.

Roasting vegetables is a brilliant way to get extra fat, as they need a generous 'sloosh' to roast well.

Mayo, or full fat yoghurt, or cream cheese are all good to add to foods, along with creamy sauces (assuming that dairy is fine for you).

The other thing to realise is that as you are moving into ketosis/fat-burning, your appetite will decrease - so if you're feeling nauseous it could just be that your body is telling you that you've eaten too much! That said, please try not to go for too long between meals - we're trying to keep our blood sugar levels stable.

Eeeek imagine how big BIWI's stick will be if you drink the whole bottle of Prosecco!!! WineWineWine

AthelstaneTheUnready · 24/01/2014 20:33

ooooh, say something encouraging about the prosecco question, BIWI!

BIWI · 24/01/2014 20:35

No it won't ruin things, but it may slow your weight loss down.

However, you need to find a way to make this WOE work for you in the long term, and if this means a bottle of Prosecco on a Friday, then so be it!

I lost my weight (2 stones) from January to November. So it took me a long time. However, during that period of time, I drank (mostly white wine) every weekend and if I was going out during the week I also had a drink. I don't go out very often during the week, so when I do I don't really see why I shouldn't have a drink!

I also had a couple of weekends away with DH which were very self-indulgent, a week working in Athens, where low carbing wasn't always easy, and I had clients to be entertained as well, plus a fortnight's family holiday where I ate what I wanted.

The message here being that I stuck - overall - to low carbing, lost the weight but never felt or allowed myself to be feel or be deprived.

Doesn't sound like a 'diet', does it?!

Perfect! Grin

Although I don't think 2 weeks is long enough to break my bad habit, so I'll probably try and stay off the booze for at least a couple more weeks and then see how I go.

Has anyone heard of this outfit?

m.itsu.com

They appear to have low carb ready meals, snacks and foods in restaurants. Shock

PseudoBadger · 24/01/2014 20:58

Yes they have many shops/restaurants in London (and probably elsewhere)

PseudoBadger · 24/01/2014 20:58

And luckily there's one near my work!

LibraryBook · 24/01/2014 21:02

Pseudo - ah I'd never heard of them before finding those seaweed thins online. Have you ever had the wasabi seaweed thins? I fancy they would be nice as a base for a slice of strong cheddar?

CrabbyWinterBottom · 24/01/2014 21:07

Crabby

Oh no, Crabby - what's occurring?

Can we help?

1919 · 24/01/2014 21:16

Librarybook- (Sorry, jumping in here) The seaweed thins are lovely but very, very thin. They're not substantial enough to hold any weight.

LibraryBook · 24/01/2014 21:24

1919 - Thanks, they obviously aren't going to be the cracker for cheese that I crave. I'll order some and try them. Grin

GermanGirlinLDN · 24/01/2014 21:48

captainmummy

I am pretty boring with my meals. I don't have much time to prepare dishes, so must be quick and easy and I tend to eat the same meals a few times. I like it, so I hope I am not getting bored too quickly.

For Breakfast I have three eggs for omelette, fried in grass-fed butter. If I have time I add red pepper or some mushrooms. For lunch I either have (avocado tuna) salad with olive oil and lemon juice or chicken breast with broccoli and edamame beans with chilli flavour (I spend 4 days this week in the gym and it's my favourite food there.) For dinner I have another salad with steak or chicken. Two times I had steak with cauliflower (with butter) and french beans. Last night I had sashimi and edamame beans. I didn't snack, stayed away from dairy and fruit.

I am really down. I had my personal training sessin today and was 2lbs up from last week. PT is criticising my diet and tells me butter is 'really really bad for you'. I am so annoyed with people who still believe this low fat/high carb nonsense. I made my point and left. He usually is a good guy but things like this make me really really angry.

BIWI · 24/01/2014 21:56

GermanGirl - I'm sorry you're feeling down and that things aren't working out for you.

I'm wondering, though, if you're actually not eating enough fat? Your protein choices are all pretty low in fat.

How much water are you drinking?

Hi all, just dashing through to say I haven't re-lost that weight yet, fingers crossed it will go before Monday.
The right arsehole of it all is I look as bad as I did before I started. Meh, but you'll be happy to hear I haven't cheated despite things fucking up. I haven't had as much water as I might today as have been in and out and all sorts, I've had most of it though.
Right am off to try and glug back 500 ml before bed.
Night all, hope you have a good evening!
