Wow! So much nattering that we've filled up the thread before the end of the week!

Here's the link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for tomorrow morning.

And, for the Weight Tracker I'm not quite sure what happens with this link I think that you will be asked to enter your weight for this week and then you will see your individual graph.

I hope you all had a good week last week, and very good luck for week 2.

Hi all. Am a pound up, but no surprise really as I had a write-off of a weekend, hen do etc. Am still 4 lb down in last fortnight and will be super strict this week.

Today:

B: 2 eggs
L: spinach/celeriac soup
D: mince concoction with cauli rice and asparagus. Had a little yogurt with the magic vanilla powder this evening too.

Have had TONNES of water today. Here's hoping for a better loss this coming week.

SteeleyeStan · 20/01/2014 21:57

I'm tired, cold and feeling a bit deflated. Really wish I could whip up a creamy hot chocolate right now... Sigh.

Nothing majorly wrong (poor Jax and Methe!), just a busy day, and an evening sorting through storage and doing three loads of washing etc. and having house-buying wobbles (we're supposed to move next month, but I'll believe it when I see it).

Will a hot chocolate made with double cream, water and 100% cocoa powder be okay on BC Light?

NotTwit · 20/01/2014 22:12

Ah crap, I'm a twat, could someone lovely change 168 to 156 for week one. I have not lost 19lbs yet it is 9 lbs.
Blush.

prettybird · 20/01/2014 22:17

Thought that you lot might be interested in this: Myth Buster: Carbs are not the enemy Hmm

While elements of it are OK (like the need to avoid processed foods and sugars) it doesn't include anything in there about the role that fat has as a fuel and why you then don't need such a high proportion of even the "good" carbs.

I'll stick to Boot Camp. It works Grin

NotTwit · 20/01/2014 22:23

To be clear, how many pounds in a stone?
I am confused today, it has been One Of Those Days.

Ruprekt · 20/01/2014 22:29

16oz in 1lb

14lbs in a stone

bettybigballs · 20/01/2014 22:37

Ohhhh there's a thread in chat that's getting me frustrated. I detest the wilful misunderstanding of low carb despite being told clearly on the same thread what it is or isn't.

It's NOT cutting out a whole food

Might need to put computer away and go to bed before I pop a vein!

bettybigballs · 20/01/2014 22:38

Whole food group, obvs. Too irritated to type :)

CrabbyWinterBottom · 20/01/2014 22:38

Willie they're great aren't they. I didn't get the chance to take a picture of them tonight - too hungry Grin - but will definitely put up a recipe for that in the future. I've never tried osso buco - will get DP to ask at the butchers.

Now Stunt, were you just blinding us with science to disguise the fact that you were advocating drinking vodka to induce weight loss... Grin

Thumb why don't you have a little side bowl of melted butter that you can dunk your veggies in? Wink

Betty Shock at the fat!

Tintin sorry to hear that. Your food looks fine. Is it around your period when you're likely to be retaining water? List your food intake daily here and we'll give you more feedback.

Aargh what is happening with my blog links?? Confused It's called Feast Without Regret - so if the link isn't working you could google it. I'll try once more...
feastwithoutregret.wordpress.com or here is a link to a salmon recipe rather than the main blog page.

Nell thank you. Smile No not piggy buttock cheeks! Grin They're the muscle of the cheek and are compact sort of oval chunks. When slow cooked they're lean, tender and just fall apart with your fork.

Sorry to hear that Jax. Sad Get well soon.

Some amazing losses here today. Well done everyone who's stuck to it. For those who haven't seen the losses they hoped for, I'm going to repeat the questions I posted this morning...

  1. Have you enjoyed your food this week?
  2. Have you felt hungry or deprived (taking into account that you can't have nuts, berries or the odd taste of very dark chocolate, which is hard)?
  3. Are you feeling better in other ways? More clear headed, less bloated?
  4. Is this a sustainable and enjoyable way of eating?

Keep on keeping on and you will get to where you want to be.

EvaTheOptimist · 20/01/2014 22:51

Twit I've gone for 158 as your start weight (neither 168 or 156) but it does then show you've lost 9 lbs. Is that correct?

And by the way, well done, that's LOADS!

Bugsylugs · 20/01/2014 22:51

Have really enjoyed the last week. 4lbs down, DH 8 lb down so happy household. Had gym MOT blood sugar was 3.9 not even diabetic bit low really.

Someone posted a slow roast pork belly don't think it was on the recipe thread can anyone shed any light must cook ours tomorrow.

Well done everyone and keep those spirits up

NotTwit · 20/01/2014 22:55

Thank you, that's what I thought. So yeah...
Not eaten much today as have stretch it out til Wednesday, so a bit peckish now. I could do with a milky drink but will hold off and glug the last of my water. Might risk some cheese.
Have felt pretty good today though, so hopefully getting threre.
B- sausage and decaf bulletproof coffee with cream
D- egg, bacon, 1/2 tomato, mushrooms fried on butter
T- buttery spinach and chicken thigh.
All my water
I have in fact just melted some cheese on a plate and eaten that.

NotTwit · 20/01/2014 22:57

eva I'll leave it in your capable hands, I've confused myself. This is what happens when perfectly good numbers fall off of spreadsheets.

ImATotJeSuisUneTot · 20/01/2014 23:08

Didnt weigh in this morning as I overslept. Monday is a crazy day for me - I work then have Uni - and usually eat badly and on the go. Not today! not much anyway......

B- Breakfast Tortilla (bacon, cheese, mushrooms)
S- Turkey chunks
L- Spanish Chicken
D - Chilli prawns and mini sausages.

No cravings either! All good - will weigh in the morning - not expecting a loss after my Ofsted shaped drama last week though. :(

Bugsylugs · 20/01/2014 23:35

I've found the belly pork recipe on the questions thread

Crabby, while I appreciate fully your attempts to help me with my buttered veg, the thought of a bowl of melted butter aside of me made me gag! Grin

No, I think just separating out some for DS2 at the start and then putting a blob of butter on the rest of mine will be the way, and I'll just have to make sure I over-estimate how much he's going to need. :)

Long journey today - 2h each way on the train - so took sausages and cheese to have for late breakfast and lunch. 2 sausages + 1 Babybel for each "meal".
Dinner will have lots of veggies, I expect, although I also expect I'm going to be cooking it as DH has just gone to the dentist with "the biggest hole EVAH" in his tooth Hmm that "will probably need a root canal" - well it might but if it does they won't do it today. Temp filling for now and book again for a longer slot later, that's the usual form. But I can just guarantee that he'll be all "poor me" and "I can't possibly cook, I'm in too much paaaiiiin" when he gets back.

So - salmon fillets for dinner, with parmesan and coriander crust. The salmon has to be cooked 3 ways to work - in the frying pan first, in butter, to sear the bottom; then add liquid and the lid to steam it, then add the topping and grill. It's VERY nice. :)

CheerfulYank · 21/01/2014 04:36

I'm here :) Need to get better about drinking my water!

Yes I do need to drink more as well, especially with the breastfeeding too. Probably need even more than the chart suggests!

sybilfaulty · 21/01/2014 06:37

Morning everyone!

Quick weigh for me today - 5lbs off! Am thrilled. Have stuck to the programme pretty well and managed gallons of water, though a bit of wine did sneak in over the weekend. I am out again twice this week so will have to try to do better.

Well done to everyone who has lost and a manly pat on the back to those who are struggling. This is a long term WOE and sometimes RL gets in the way. In last summer's BC, I started really well but then my work tried to make me redundant and LC went completely out of the window. I ended the BC heavier than I'd started! Oops.

If you can manage another week of BC, it does get easier and once you get into the LC mindset you can avoid bread, potatoes, pasta etc without feeling hard done by. Promise. I can now happily make cakes, toast (my favourite carb really, apart from wine), pasta etc for the rest of the family or for friends and I honestly don't miss it. The food is just so delicious and not fake, like all the Weight watchers crap which is such big business. I have struggled with my weight since being a teenager and have spent probably hundreds, if not thousands, on various crackpot diets, meal replacements, WWs sweets and choc etc (where the first and therefore greatest ingredient is a chemical!). I now eat lovely fresh food with lots of veggies, butter, avocados, good fat and nothing really with an ingredient my granny wouldn't recognise. That has to be healthier, surely. Plus I am slimmer, if not lighter, than I was since I had kids. Still got a way to go though!

Must get dressed. Early start on work days. Gah!

Nell and Pistey - lovely to see you here. Am embarrassed by my lack of running prowess. I will write more when I have a little more time but suffice it to say Week 1, Run 1 beckons.....

Have a great day everyone.

Thumbwitch · 21/01/2014 06:37

oh and CY - have you seen this thread?

sybilfaulty · 21/01/2014 06:39

Wow, MyPrecious, that is awesome, as my 8 year old would say! Well done.

Thumb, I drank gallons of water whilst I was BF as I was very thirsty, even with a diet of hobnobs and cake. Just watch your salts if you are drinking a huge amount and have some avocado or salmon (or a cup of bovril / bouillon) to keep things in check.

JaxTellerIsAllMine · 21/01/2014 07:25

thanks everyone, I just need to get this week over with, Im so much better today, I would say 80% back to normal. So, going to do short walk with dogs, get my nails done and chill rest of day.

Ive got a hen weekend this weekend and as I am the brides sister I have to party - BUT I have food sorted so I can eat LC and try hard to drink vodka soda and alternate with water.

I will be back, promise, just not hardcore bootcamp for me at moment. Smile

gussiegrips · 21/01/2014 07:36

Can someone remind me how to bookmark a thread?

In other news, I forgot about the fruit. Was soooo looking forward to rasps/blueberries in fat yogurt for brekkie.

hey ho.
