Can we have a thread on this? I see great stuff on the main thread (someone mentioned cooked belly pork slices) but, like recipes, it moves so quickly that I lose things and can't keep up!

I should probably start with something I've discovered. But I haven't... I just steal other people's ideas. But I'm off to lidl today so looking for inspiration

"(poss even mix with choc/cocoa for a sort of fat bomb snack?)"

Yes! I tried making cookies with this recipe from creamed coconut - before BC obviously (and I used stevia instead of coconut sugar and added some mint extract after someone else recommended that). Very yummy.

Holland and Barrett are selling slim pasta buy one, get another for a penny, and free delivery today. The sachet has two servings and contains 0.2g of carb. Not tried them but have ordered some

Do you think they will taste like those Japanese noodles? (I still have a load of them in the back of my cupboard)

I just bought some great 'Taste' mini chicken satay sticks in waitrose, only 3.0g carb per 100g, very tasty indeed and just eaten cold with some salad and bit of cheese for my lunch. yum

I've never tried the slim pasta, but I have bought shirataki noodles often. I think they're great, although I know not everyone is a fan.

But frankly, to be able to eat noodle or pasta-type meals and know that they're zero carbs is fab!

Lighthousekeeping · 22/01/2014 16:06

I still have those noodles. I just couldn't get on with the texture.

Unearthed pork rilettes from Waitrose (they were reduced to 50p whooopp!) are really delicious. Had some as a lunch wrapped in little gem and then last night I added some to cauli rice and fried up in butter and oil. It was really delicious, richly meaty and a great texture with the slightly firm rice.

Unearthed garlic king prawns are yummy, 1g carb per 100.

Divine 70% chocolate with chilli and orange is my favourite treat. I only need a square or two here and there and it's a perfect luxury for those times when nothing else will do.

Lidl has a 500g bag of echalion shallots for £1 each. I may have stocked up and am planning a peel, chop and freeze tomorrow.

colette I have been using coconut oil for years to help with my thyroid. I think this is the best tasting one www.amazon.co.uk/Nutiva-Organic-Extra-Virgin-Coconut/dp/B004NTCE1M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1391304356&sr=8-1&keywords=nutiva%20coconut%20oil&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21 and it's organic and cold pressed.
