nisan · 16/07/2010 19:33

so im confused , is this not a convo about, 'where have all the good men gone'? and turkish, explain please........lol

nisan · 16/07/2010 19:34

fit interesting and available men sorry!

lou33 · 16/07/2010 19:40

it is but sometimes we go off track

Monty100 · 16/07/2010 19:47

Yay - Taxi-ing done, Beer O'Clock

Lou - in a word, non! lol. I have a stripey raincoat a bit like that. Im going jacketless I think, unless something jumps out at me between now and then.

Nisan - are you Turkish? Are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin;

Our Eve has a boy in the far off land of Turkey, who seems to be rather keen on her. He is deffo fit, interesting and available.

On this thread we have what is known as the 'marital sofa' (a phrase coined by Ninah iirc) which indicates when a poster becomes part of a couple, those already in coupledom, budge up and make room on the 'marital sofa'.

So, when Eve's Turkish admirer invited her over there for a holiday, we thought we'd have a little rib at her and find out how to say 'marital sofa' in Turkish.

And they would live happily every after.

hello all someone gave me a bottle of wine it would be rude not to appreciate it right?
lou your sports day pic is fantastic, how lovely and what a good memento. Your boy is flying!
Sorry to hear about those whose dc are upset by their dads. It breaks your heart, and you feel so powerless. Personally I feel my ex is more of a dad now than he has ever been, he even kicks a ball with ds which was unheard of before - but when it comes down to it he sees him once a fortnight. I am lucky in a way we split when dc were so little. Ds and I have been reading a fab book called Feather Boy by Nicky someone, is a gripping read and the protagonist is a young boy with a few dad issues. Not a major part of the story but nice to read a book that doesn't depend on a nuclear family.
Plus a healthy endorsement here for childfree men. Not that I've met any but the alternative is so wracked with complication aka SULLEN SON lol sounds like a racehorse
my art student goes to school with him and can vouch for his general sulleness
what a good word asbm
monty I finish work in week - YAY!

Remotew · 16/07/2010 21:17

I liked that Jacket you linked to Lou, Hi Nisan.

I won't be having to learn any Turkish, been told to be wary of men bearing free accommodation holidays so am taking a bit of advice for once.

Sponge have a blast, she already is I guess.

We are having difficulty find a job for DD atm, so good for your girls getting fixed up.

The 'date' is still not responding so am writing it off. Shame really as he was a younger man who preferred older women, so just up my street. His last gf was only a couple of years younger. Replied to a message from a 52 yr old! as he looked OK but his profile said he was looking for dating only.

Had a very interesing convo with a colleague over dinner tonight. Remember 'Athletic' a friend of hers was also a victim. It came out in general chat. OMG!

Monty100 · 16/07/2010 21:42

Ninah - a gift of wine should be drunk with gusto imho.
Mine were littlies when we split too, so issues are different for that time, but I fear that mine are questioning stuff now. They don't have much time for exh even if he does live on the doorstep, but that's really unhealthy imo.
My shoulders are shaking lmao again at Sullen Son, I don't know why it has tickled me so much, I haven't heard the word sullen for years, and yes, it prob does sound like a racehorse, and it is such an understatement as well.

Eve - that might be a good idea really. We don't want to owe anything do we. grr.
Athletic again .
I am chuffed at dd's job, she has been trying hard to find one for a long time and was considering trying to get unpaid work just for the experience, it was just lucky there's a new store opening so they were recruiting. It is such a change for me to be reporting that something positive has happened. I wish it would happen to all of us more.

OP posts:
ninah · 16/07/2010 21:52

monty well done on dd's job
went quiet on here earlier so I ended up bidding on a 'surrealist' painting when what I really need is that TENT
omg at 'athletic'
he needs to be

Remotew · 16/07/2010 21:59

I knew he had done similar to other people but was a bit of a shock to find out a colleague knew one of them.

DD did have a job in a shop for a while so has some experience but it seems that unless you know someone it's hard to get them to look at an application from a 16 yr old.

Monty100 · 16/07/2010 22:14

Ninah - go on, give us the gen on surrealist painting............. linkie please.

When do you need the tent for??

Eve - that is truly shocking. Lucky escape there, just. Have you recovered from it now?

I get the impression you are fairly rural, might be wrong of course. Any restaurants or anything around that might need staff for the summer?

OP posts:
ninah · 16/07/2010 22:32

not a clue how to link
is mainly purple and black
only had one glass of wine but it is white and really went to my head!
need tent for end of August but a good one finishes tomorrow
do you really think it will rain aLL summer

elastamum · 16/07/2010 22:40

It is raining here and forecast for tomorrow so no excursions outside for us

Am doing indoor climbing tomorrow in nottingham, just me and the kids. Then maybe, just maybe, outside on sunday if it holds.

Forecast is pants for tomorrow and ground is soaked so pretty hopeless, but sunday might be better, Traveller said to call him if we venture out. Otherwise will see him in a few weeks time when back from hols

One thing about climbing as a hobby though, you should see my muscles

Monty100 · 16/07/2010 22:49

Ninah - where are you going camping? can I come?
Do you know how to bid right at the last minute?
It won't rain all summer, it only rains at the weekends donchano.

Elasta - fgs, just call him and ask him if he wants to do instead. Do not let him out of this country before you see him. Ya hear me?

Monty100 · 16/07/2010 23:12

I'm waiting for Becks to come on Jonathan asshole Ross' last show. Have tissues ready to wipe chin and girding loins lol.

OP posts:
Remotew · 16/07/2010 23:22

Have to watch my darling on I player on Jonathon Ross as someone is watching IT crowd.

Lots of seasonal jobs in this tourist area but the jobs are snapped up by eastern europeans.

lou33 · 16/07/2010 23:39

dare i ask where the tissues are for?
the trouble with where we live is that it limits her options of where she can work , as in be able to get to without relying on me to get her there

Monty100 · 17/07/2010 00:08

Tissues for wiping drooling lol.

Eve - it makes me angry that people are used in this way, hard work, low pay, and to the detriment of those who should be supporting their own local economies. Those who are being exploited aren't to blame. It's the way this country is run, with all its incompetentcies, (sp) that is wrong.

Lou - dd's job isn't local. Watch this space for the taxi-ing.

At least I can leave the house to pick her up without all the responsibilities that you have. But I bet I moan about it.

OP posts:
ninah · 17/07/2010 11:00

thanks monty I am last minute queen
I have a pop up but don't think it's sturdy enough for a week in the Brecon Beacons -
three days camping then the Green Man festival
the pop up is OK for odd nights out
trouble is it needs to be really easy to put up as I am doing it singlehanded and not v skilled
might borrow one in case the passion fades
Crikey I was wasted last night
glass and a half and I was bongoed
think it was tiredness

lou33 · 17/07/2010 13:11

Ugh dp just called and said he is working nights next week.

sighs

Remotew · 17/07/2010 13:19

Calling the Londoners!! Got a very nice man for you from POF. 6ft 4, presentable 47, Art Director. Any takers? I have replied to him as he had a great profile and mentioned I have a few single friends in the capital which apart from one RL friend, the rest are you.

ninah · 17/07/2010 13:23

I knew I shouldn't have Moved to the Country
sigh

aseriouslyblondemoment · 17/07/2010 13:32

ooh he sounds nice am thinking scl here

ninah you've still got steve from bedduth remember
lou sounding crap
are you any nearer to finding a bigger place for all of you?

Remotew · 17/07/2010 14:10

He hasn't replied to my suggestion so best not get too excited.

I'm not having much luck on POF atm. Totally bored today, we have pelting rain storms and the weather has been bad for 9 days solid since they announced a hose pipe ban. It's the major topic of conversation around here.

Lou you will have to make the most of him this weekend then.

Right I'm going to get in touch with a mate today it's long overdue and I need to get out of this house.

Remotew · 17/07/2010 15:35

He has replied and seems open to suggestions. Will pass his user name on if anyone fancies taking a look. Message me on FB.
