Has no one beat me to it with a new thread yet?

OP posts:
kdk · 23/04/2010 20:41

@ belle, funnily enough that was one topic me and bluebeard (aka the porker poker player) talked about - the whole age thing. I'm of the opinion that the net does a big disservice in that respect.

To me, it's the person that's important not their age but will admit that if someone messages me who is outside my 'comfort zone' I tend to ignore them - in real life however I have met, fancied and/or been out with guys ranging from 15 years younger to 20 years older - but think meeting them in real life and liking them is hugely different - the age thing ceases to be important somehow.

Not sure if that helps or not, to be honest!

And @ juice, bluebeard was pretty gentlemanly - paid for lunch and texted to say sorry for rushing off so will see - would definitely do lunch/dinner (and have said I owe him a meal) but not sure about more - maybe that being stone cold sober played a part as well ie if I'd had a glass of wine or two, would have fancied him ...

May have to go out with short arse and see how I feel about him! Preferably without being seen my school run mums!

thesouthsbelle · 23/04/2010 20:42

lou - 16 years younger than me n it would be illegal.

no no date yet sm - going v slowly, and waiting for him to make the moves - which are currently him moving all of his kit after each session to come n sit down with me n share a coke lol. I was told today to stop hogging the bar as well - if his idea of a 'bar' is 6 choices of soft drinks and a coffee machine then we really need to work on his ideas! lol. as I say thou apparently I need to pick up his hints?!? ie his birthday, what his plans are for the w.e and also that he's deffo there monday. I think he needs to ask me on a date!

thesouthsbelle · 23/04/2010 20:44

beer goggles are never good KDK! lol.

age usually doesn't bother me and will talk to anyone but I think it's just I can already hear/see my dad's face the whole don't you think he's a little old for you - he said that about a chap I brought home who was 36 ffs so he'd have a heart attack over someone who's only 12 years younger than him! still, don't think I care actually.

Monty100 · 23/04/2010 20:49

Juice - good one on the exam! Pleased for you. I bet Irish charms you over the weekend to have a beer. I'm not known where the music is so I wouldn't go on my own. I wouldn't have a problem going in my local if the notion took me or could be a*sed.

Lou - I'd go in your direction lol.

Belle - go with what feels right. Couldn't see me going for someone 16 years older than me, but then I'm not 28, sadly.

I forgot to congratulate kdk on being the talk of the school gates. Respeck.

Elasta - not necessarily, you might hear more.

OK - dp is here, hasn't been home, and has ordered food. I rest my case. He has only had two pints tho lol. I can't be a*sed to go out now see, 'cos by the time he goes home to get ready..........

Gawd I'm even boring myself now .

Remotew · 23/04/2010 20:50

OMG girls help me and talk some sense into me.

Latest saga. He popped into the garage and reckoned a bag had gone missing. So what. Then as DD was out I invited him in. Then he invited his mate round, he was OK, nice guy. So we had a few drinks, then they arranged to go out and he said he was coming back so told him the garage was cosy!!!!

He had cleaned himself up and started kissing me and hugging me. Talk me round ladies please.

thesouthsbelle · 23/04/2010 20:52

monty - did you want to go out as well with him?

eve - athletic you mean? erm - do you want him to be kissing you?

elastamum · 23/04/2010 20:53

If is makes you feel any better my brother is married to a girl 20 years younger. He is 44, they have 3 small kids, both as happy as larry!

My problem is that at 46, I am targeted by 60 somethings lookking for someone to look after them. WTF! I still have kids in primary school, do i need a pensioner???

Latest date was 50, not quite so bad but looking for someone young free and single i feel

Remotew · 23/04/2010 21:00

Belle and anyone else interested in age gap relationships. Yes Athletic and he had a shave and I will say this in all honesty I have never seen a better looking guy!!!! ever and don't forget I've met Becks!!!

I've got it bad and he is promising threatening to come back here tonight. What is a 48 yr old woman to do?

lou33 · 23/04/2010 21:02

i just asked the bf what his age range would be (he is 38) either way

he said 28 -40

i am 43

he said it shows how special i am....

cheeky bugger

lou33 · 23/04/2010 21:04

eve, i would recommend toy and destroy in this case

thesouthsbelle · 23/04/2010 21:04

elast pensioner - hey least they'll get free travel and cheap chips lol.

eve - well a woman is to ask him in then and secumb to his charms?!? lol.

guess it really is just a number huh?

thesouthsbelle · 23/04/2010 21:06

oooh toy - I need to go toy shopping actually - reckons love honey has to be easier - less hassle at least lol.

hatesponge · 23/04/2010 21:10

belle - dont write Marine off due to his age! my dad was 16 years older than my mum - they met when she was 30, fell madly in love despite lots of issues including the age gap, had an unexpected baby (me!) and nearly 25 very happy years together. so you never know....appreciate he has to actually get to the asking you on a date first though lol!

trying - and failing no doubt - to catch up with everyone else....

juice - well done re exam, you deserve to do well after all your hard work. I admire all of you who are studying, I found it hard enough as a teenager with no responsibility, children etc, I would never manage now....

monty - has DP turned up yet? More importantly have you started on the wine?!

kdk - sounds like your date with bluebeard wasnt that bad all things considered! - so when are you arranging a date with the short one?

am trying not to let Ex get me down. Going shopping tomorrow for new wardrobes , plus just been winked at on match by a guy who looks a bit like Linden on Holby (who I think is rather lovely!)...and I have wine. And Ex is out for the night! So all's well

Remotew · 23/04/2010 21:13

Lou, thanks we need a good catch up! Not sure what to do but I'm smitten, the cock got me hemming his trousers, ironing his jeans, washing and cooking for him, putting him up etc.

It was fun in the beginning but then went horrible but tonight he snogged me and I nearly melted. He is tops in the looks stakes but a complete user. Had a chat with his mate about this MILF porno stuff that is fashionable with young guys atm. Long may it last. lol.

Remotew · 23/04/2010 21:16

Juice, if you need to ask any questions in future exams then ask me. You might be further on but I am shit hot with accountancy.

lou33 · 23/04/2010 21:23

eve, dont get attached, the more you do for him the more he will hang about, but it might not be for the right reasons iyswim

stop looking after him and see what he does then

in the meantime just use and abuse

no attachment!

Remotew · 23/04/2010 21:25

Thanks Lou, fact is that we are not together, were in the beginning, but not since he became homeless. Yes I am attached a bit.

thesouthsbelle · 23/04/2010 21:30

eve - totally with lou - you maybe a milf but certainly not his mother, sounds like he needs to grow up a bit as well?

hate - will keep him warming up I think for now we shall see. ref ex least he's out of your hair. and wardrobes - clothes to go in said wardrobs or the outta shell?

thesouthsbelle · 23/04/2010 21:31

if you're not together then kick him out - or at least stop doing his cooking/washing/etc etc.

I say feet up n glass of wine.

Remotew · 23/04/2010 21:37

Going to ring him now and tell him if he comes back the garage is cosy then he can chat some other unsuspecting woman up. He won't have a problem there as he is absolutley lush with a capital L. Never seen a guy so phwaarrrrrrrhh!

hatesponge · 23/04/2010 21:39

eve - agree with lou and belle, dont do stuff for him (I'm the last one to talk though given I still sort and fold Ex's washing and we are not even on speaking terms!)

belle - re marine slow and steady etc - think tortoise and hare! and no its the actual wardrobe i have to buy - Ex decided to take away the boys wardrobes, drawers etc this week so atm all their clothes are just in a big heap in their rooms...I hate mess so it is driving me mad! Theres a second hand furniture shop near me which I'm hoping will have some suitable, fingers crossed!

kdk · 23/04/2010 21:43

eve - kick him to the kerb - or get him to pay you for services rendered! No matter how good looking he is, you are not his skivvy!

Remotew · 23/04/2010 21:50

Hate, hope you are sorting it all out. The lost furniture, after all it's only stuff that can be replaced steadily. It's your heart that is precious and doesn't heal easily.

For all the ladies on this thread that are going through the heartache, I've read and I know from experience that it takes five years to heal a broken heart. I agree. That is five years wasted when you could have been doing better things, but if you had ten years of bliss with the ex then it cancels it out.

thesouthsbelle · 23/04/2010 21:52

lol. hate - my aunty said that be the tortoise. think part of the issue is he's shy unless he knows someone, and has been knocked back a few times by his own admission which has knocked his confidence a bit. ho hum. god yes I remeber now memory is shot - seriously what exactly do our ex's think when they pull stuff like that - is it best for the kids?!!? idiot little boys.

eve - agree with KDK! come on now kick his butt out. oh and phwooor blokes don't treat women like that - only idiots and users do - you're worth so so much more - believe it.

Remotew · 23/04/2010 21:53

Kdk. I'm like a teenager again, I know I'm stupid but he has bewitched me and think I've done it for him.
