i dont care ninah. habit or not it freaked me right out.

made every hair on my body scream "run for the hills"

ninah · 22/06/2009 14:40

no, that really is bleurgh isn't it
did you tell him why he was dumped? did he leave right away?
oh god you couldn't make it up, could you ... and all the scouting, too
oh dear oh dear
you sound v positive tho, lol at lock up your sons, hope are are really OK!

lou33 · 22/06/2009 14:46

blimey that was a lot to catch up on

some crappy ex stories again i see

well things took a downward turn because of a comment he made, which had me wondering if he was just another incredible bullshitting man

however last night i spoke to him about it again and after a bit of a session of serious talking (i talked he listened), he apologised and said he wished he never said it, could we forget he did and it seems we are now officially seeing each other

i just got back from taking him home

ninah · 22/06/2009 14:50

lou I'm pleased was wondering what happened. Tact, men ... waht with some of our exs and past experience it's hard not to expect the worst sometimes
glad it got sorted!

Remotew · 22/06/2009 15:01

OMG RJ that would freak me out too.

Lou, glad things are back on track now. It's give and take and I can be tactless sometimes so would hope someone would forgive and forget.

lou33 · 22/06/2009 15:05

i am not unreasonable i am prepared to talk and listen before i boot them onto the street if i dont agree

ridingjoker · 22/06/2009 15:27

ninah i thought he was having a laugh at first till i seen his face and how mortified he was.

after an awkward pile of excuses about me wanting him to go so i could go to sleep he left very shortly after.

he called and text this morning but i was at italian consulate sorting out paperwork re. dc with ex. so ended up having to actually tell him by text i was freaked out and that it was over. said i would call him later and fully explain. but not sure i can bear the crying i am expecting.

i am absolutely fine. except for freaked out.

really am fine about it though. its just a fella after all. thanks for asking though.

there's always plenty more fish to catch

lou33 · 22/06/2009 15:52

did he say why he was sucking his thumb?

how bizarre

i am snorting slightly at the image in my head though, sorry!

lostinthecitylover · 22/06/2009 16:38

yes am afraid that would be a dealbreaker for me!!

ridingjoker · 22/06/2009 17:02

a "habit" he couldn't stop.

also made me think what a weak willed person could be an adult and just NOT STICK UR THUMB IN YOUR MOUTH ffs

lou33 · 22/06/2009 18:14

i habit he could not stop?! even in front of his gf?

pffft

i reckon he just wanted you to breastfeed him

ridingjoker · 22/06/2009 18:26

"bitty" anyone

lou33 · 22/06/2009 18:39
notevenamousie · 22/06/2009 19:07

rj - oh dear. You seem very upbeat tho, and thank goodness now not later. There are it seems literally plenty more for you to choose from.

lou - sounds good to get through a tough thing and still be seeing each other. I am really for you.

My ex is getting worse, asking for accounts of my time and extra days with dd and being very aggressive. I have basically told him I am not going to be bullied. Is so hard though.

lou33 · 22/06/2009 19:21

accounts of your time?!

aseriouslyblondemoment · 22/06/2009 19:57

Janos · 22/06/2009 20:01

Bloody hell rj! A thumsbucker. I'm not surprised by your reaction at all. That would put me right off too.

Blimey. Glad you seem ok about it though.

lou -

mousie - what the hell does he mean 'accounts of your time' - what the fuck is it to with him exactly? Excuse my French. He sounds like a real bully.

i started AIBU about the thumb sucking. go look how many people still suck thumbs

aseriouslyblondemoment · 22/06/2009 20:04

omg i will go and have a gander
beats ironing school shirts lol

Janos · 22/06/2009 20:05

I did have a lovely time today, lunch at my friend and afternoon on portobello beach with our two boys.

Mine insisted on stripping off and zooming into baltic temp waters at approx 80mph. Where is the fear and caution?

Fabulous but I had forgotten what a total pita sand can be DS got it everywhere, esp in those delightfully awkward to reach and clean places.

Janos · 22/06/2009 20:06

Obv I mean lunch at my friends house. Not at my friend. That would be a bit weird.

I don't care what ppl say rj, I would be very put off by an adult thumb sucker. Yuck.

lostinthecitylover · 22/06/2009 20:36

aah janos you'll be needing the sand brush then which is something I once wanted to invent!!

Have just spent a brief amount of time with exh as he took dcs for something to eat. Prior to this he had rung me at work to ask where the nail scissors were for ds2 as his nails were 'disgusting'.

Then when we all met up and dcs playing outside he proceeded to boast (well it seemed like it) about how great the new dcs sleep compared with how ds1and2 did, how much their nanny earns and how he plans to take all four dcs long haul next year plus he is paying for a very expensive school trip for ds1.

Which is all very well but ---

he huffed when I asked to borrow (and I mean borrow) a tenner to buy food until payday. In three years he has raised the maintenance by 40quid a month!!

I reminded him that every time I run around taking dcs over to his and collecting them I am spending petrol money and when he only has them for 24 instead of 48 hours I am paying for the extra food. I know that sounds mean but it all mounts up.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 22/06/2009 20:48

scl
no its not mean at all
you plan your week and obv meals and budget accordingly
children need feeding esp 2 active healthy little boys who if they're anything like mine have also got hollow legs
and are always hungry
and oh yes the great i am bit about the holiday
well whoppee doo to them
about time they gave their dcs a nice time!

ridingjoker · 22/06/2009 21:00
