I enjoy meals out (although I am NOT a foodie), spending time with friends and catching up, card and board games, reading, ten-pin bowling, (non-strenous!) walks.

I like musicals and have recently seen Joseph and Evita and am going to see We Will Rock You in May. I also enjoy the cinema, but as I am currently being subject to kids films - on Saturday mornings I am often found at Cineworld kids club, with my kids not on my own! - the occasional film with a rating other than U or PG is a welcome diversion.

I don't watch a lot of tv (I am discounting the background Cbeebies/CBBC as I'm not the one watching it), but do have a bit of a Coronation Street addiction - comes from being a northern girl. I also try and watch Question Time and This Week if I can keep myself awake, and like Saturday Kitchen if I'm having a lazy weekend. I like comedy - 2 Pints and Not Going Out are favorites.

I am happy spending a few hours out in the garden just pottering, although at the moment it looks like it needs a bit more than that.

I'm not a clubber and while I listen to music it is more whatever is on the radio rather than being a big part of my life. I enjoy spending time with a small group of friends rather than loads of people.

I love summer and being warm and would prefer not to have winter! I lived in the tropics for a few years and while friends there missed the seasons, I loved knowing that it would be 31c and sunny when I woke up. April has been lovely, lets hope we get a good summer.

I have travelled a fair bit, further flung places when I lived in the tropics - Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Indonesia, and closer to home more recently - Spain, Portugal, France, Greece, Canaries. I also love Cornwall, and have spent a week there every May for the last few years.

I like animals, at the moment I have a couple of chickens, which are, umm, not very interesting - but quite productive, and suprisingly good at eating the leftovers. I have always had a dog around and am currently debating whether to get another.

I live in a village just north of Cambridge and having worked in Cambridge for 8 years I am now working in Newmarket, and am happy with not having to battle with the traffic every morning.

I would say that I am an intelligent (well, brain cells slightly fried since having children!), independant woman who is happy with her own company. I might come across as slightly aloft at first, but it's more shyness.

I am looking for someone to have fun and enjoy spending time with, whether that is every now and again to see a film or go for a meal - or something more.

(then pic as on my profile on here)

Hello - thought I'd come and see what you were up to!

I guess I'd want to know what are the five (non-parent related) things which you think most define you? MIght be an interesting place to start?

ChasingSquirrels · 13/05/2009 22:37

umm, I don't know if there are! I am dull. But I am happy with me.

Sorry, cross-posting! Still not dull. I would swop "while" for "although" or "whilst". I would move "I have travelled..." to after "winter!" so that paragraph ends with "we get a good summer".

And stick in something about the chickens after gardening (maybe??).

Otherwise, great - let us know how it goes...

your last posting is better by far
mine is condensed yes, but it gets responses and mostly considered ones
tho hands up here have had more than my share of pervs

boudoiricca · 13/05/2009 22:52

See, I think that's great. I'm intrigued - you sound interesting from what you've told me and I want to know more...

Are you happy with it?

Soo...

What kind of man are you looking for?

Would that appeal to him?

(You don't have to answer that now, but think about it - that's the key).

ChasingSquirrels · 13/05/2009 22:54

god - THAT's the hard bit.

I'm not sure I am actually looking for a man - well certainly not anything majorly serious yet (but serious starts off as casual I suppose).

I was with my ex from 19 - 36 (last year). I have NO experience of dating.

E-mailing is fun atm, and that's a massive move forward for me.

I'll take it as it comes.

Latest version good - go for it! I met dp 3 years ago online and I didn't even write one of these profile thingies! Just a picture and then started chatting...

Niceguy2 · 15/05/2009 11:49

I've just seen this thread. I think Parmageddon's experience sums up what i've said on the other thread.

No need to think too deeply.

From a man's perspective I'd be happy enough to see this:

"I enjoy meals out, spending time with friends and catching up, card and board games, reading, ten-pin bowling, (non-strenuous!) walks, musicals, and pottering in the garden.

I am an independent woman who is happy with her own company and I am looking for someone to have fun and enjoy spending time with."

Short, to the point. Remember, us men will get a very small response rate so we wont spend too long on reading your profile. Make it too long and all you do is guarantee we haven't read it.

Good luck
