afternoon

i got there about 6.40, he was outside cleaning his bike, so waited for him to be done then we went inside and he cooked me dinner (spaghetti, meatballs, tomato sauce), we spent the entire evening lying on his bed watching dvds and holding hands until we fell asleep

woke up with him still holding my hand

i said to him that i guess i wouldnt see him again then and he told me i was wrong and he will make sure we do meet before he goes on the 20th

he sent me a text when i was coming home to say he had a lovely time

so i guess the final goodbye is delayed

it was all really chilled and relaxed and no heavy talk or emotional stuff, just nice and easy

ninah · 30/04/2009 14:02

aah lou that's so nice
had a funny night last night funny as in odd
nm's ds has chosen to live with his mother and will be going there as soon as he finishes school to start new school in Sept
Ever since he decided he wanted to do that he's been really angry and aggressive
I know he's going through such a lot
anyway nm asked me to go round there last night and help get his ds up for school as he is dreadful in the mornings and nm had to be away for work
There has been lots of family aggro
to cut a long story short his ds did get up etc was no prob but really horrible atmosphere, I know it isn't personal to me but he is vile to be around, such a feeling of pain and hostility
Don't know how to cope with it really, try to be friendly but not force things

Holly23 · 30/04/2009 15:05

Lou sounds like you had a lovely evening. Are you glad you went?

Ninah - that sounds very unpleasant. Do you think nm DS is like this because of the pressure he was put under to choose where he wanted to live?

ninah · 30/04/2009 15:09

absolutely. He changed almost overnight and it is awful to see and impossible to deal with. Eg he kicked his bedroom ceiling the other day and brought down the plaster
is impacting on my dc as ds will speak to him and just get a sneer in reply
I care,but I don't know what to do

lou33 · 30/04/2009 15:36

yes it was lovely, and i am glad i went

it's been good that we have rebuilt bridges and can be so relaxed with each other i think

Holly23 · 30/04/2009 16:03

Ninah - Its so easy for your DC to get influenced by this negative behaviour as well, perhaps nm DS needs a bit of space, you know chance to calm down and come to turns with the situation.

Janos · 30/04/2009 19:24

Sorry for just barging into the thread without reading through first but I just wanted to tell everyone because I'm so, so relieved.

I mentioned that I've been going through a stressful time in the courts wqith DS's Dad.

Well, the court reporter finished her report and she has recommended that DS have his full time residence with me.

Sadly it's not all sorted out yet and there's another hearing but I'm so pleased

lou33 · 30/04/2009 19:25

oh janos wonderful news

Janos · 30/04/2009 19:28

Right after barging in..hope rj is going to have a fab time in Cairo.

lou - your dinner on Wed sounds lovely, really really nice.

Inthemists, sounds positive - are we talking about marathon man here?

at funny in your pants. That's a goooood feeling to have!

lou33 · 30/04/2009 19:30

i am going to take the acclaim for hte funny in your pants phrase,i believe i am responsible for it

Janos · 30/04/2009 19:31

Thank you lou

I had been told things 'look positive' but I didn't dare to believe it until I saw it there in black and white. I drank a couple of glasses of wine reading through.

The downside of it is I know XP will be awkward and unpleasant - although I don't know if he will be downright nasty. Could be as he may think 'nothing to lose'. But I think I'm resigned to that. I know he will be absolutely furious.

lou33 · 30/04/2009 19:37

but you have done everything the right way , so at least you know that, despite how he may behave

inthemistsoftime · 30/04/2009 20:20

janos, so glad it went well, he is going to be fairly pissed off at the result, but don't let it get to you.

heres hoping that rj got off ok she is definitely going to have a good weekend!

lou, funny in your pants is definitely yours, tho marathon man described it as a funny tummy, I prefer your description

I have to admit I have a funny feeling in my tummy too, especially as its been many years since I have had this experience, it could all go belly up next week, but at least I have had some fun.

Janos · 30/04/2009 20:21

Yes lou so true. Boy has it been tough though. I'm sure you'll know exactly what I mean.
