My lovely dear step Son, 23, is a single parent. He is finding life quite lonely right now. He thinks he is never going to find the right girl.

He wants to find someone to settle down with and marry. A Family.

He is working full time, so is finding meeting people difficult - like alot of you -His Daughter is nearly 3.

What advice would you give him?

He is - IMO doing a fab job with GD

ps he is a Shane Ward look-a-like...well I think so anyway!

Would you be put off by him being a lone parent?

I will send him along here later for a look at your offers advice

Is he a fitty and does he live in London? If so, point him my way!

Wouldn't bother me him being a single Dad to be honest and wouldn't have bothered me when I was child free either.

I think i would prefer to find someone who is a single Dad. At least they have the same sort of resposibility as us single Mums and would understand that kids come first.
Unfortunatly i am probably a bit too old for him at 30 lol!

Divvy · 07/01/2009 20:32

That might be like dating your step mum!

Would speaking to other single parents help? Perhaps in a pen pal stylee?

I have been on and off with D/XP (depending on which week you catch us!) for a long while and understand how lonely it can be. Would be happy to be his pen pal! Or would he MN? I find it helpful on nights in on my own!

aseriouslyblondemoment · 07/01/2009 20:44

seriously divvy has he tried internet dating?
have heard of some sites purely aimed at parents

Divvy · 07/01/2009 20:44

I am going to send him the link to this thread later, dont think he knows these sorts of places are about.

Hey, me again,..

I use Plenty of fish, not us for parents, buts its free and seems ok. Also as Ewe said, i agree, with spending time talking,..once dd's in bed i find myself watching tv and sat talking to people on MSN lol.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 07/01/2009 20:53

would personally recommend paid sites as believe people on there generally less weird?!!
menmygirl thought you had to pay to send and receive stuff on plenty of fish?

MeNmyGirl · 07/01/2009 21:01

No its all free, and so far the men on there seem alright,...im just silly,..dont have the guts to meet up with any of them lol

aseriouslyblondemoment · 07/01/2009 21:05

Really?
might use it next time lol!!
and get out there girl what you got to lose?!!

shelleylou · 07/01/2009 21:29
