Has this been done before? I'm sure it has, everything's been done before but... what are your favourite 'up yours' songs that helped you over the difficult times?
Mine are

McAlmont and Butler - 'Yes (I Do Feel Better)'

Cher - 'Strong Enough'.

Anyone else want to play?

How about the creepy camp one from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack, "You don't own me" I think?

Bob Dylan "It ain't me babe"

Baffy · 14/04/2008 10:30

lol at the mildmj. good line.

I also like Kelly Clarkson's 'Gone'.
I'm going to check these all out. Hell knows why there isn't a cd of this stuff. They'd make a fortune!

Kate Nash - Foundations & D*head

wooga · 14/04/2008 17:57

I don't love you-My Chemical Romance
Reasons unknown-The Killers
You and your hand-Pink
I'm free-Soup Dragons(!)
Heartbeat-Robyn

Another vote for Foundations.

wooga · 14/04/2008 17:58

Heartbeat was in the charts when I split with exh-not really an 'up yours' song.

LRB978 · 14/04/2008 23:21

Nur fur dich by Die Wise Guys. See here:

Yeah okay, its German, but you can get it with subtitles (albeit on a Torchwood fanvid) here:

I love the lyrics, the idea behind it. It does start as a lovesong, but follow it through. I may be 3 1/2 years out of the relationship, but my xp has really wound me up recently, and this made me laugh when little else did.

jellibabe · 14/04/2008 23:57

Destiny's Child - Bills,Bills,Bills & Independent Women.

madamez · 15/04/2008 00:02

Wayne COunty and the Electric chairs - If you don't want to fuck me baby, baby fuck off! (extremely EXTREMELY sweary but funny song)

Mind you, for younger viewers, how about Caught Out There by Kelis (the one that goes I hate you so much right now WAAAARRRGGGGHHHH)

zippitippitoes · 15/04/2008 00:08
