I will be, I even asked seperated dh to spend it with me and he flatly refused (how stupid am I?) should i just make it like any other night and ignore the fact that probably the first 8mths of 2008 are going to be rather shite and just get pissssed

Me!

DrNortherner · 29/12/2007 20:41

Do you have a mate you can invite round or a neighbour?

lunavix · 29/12/2007 20:42

me

me, ds (3) and dd(1) who will both be in bed by 7.30

Janos · 29/12/2007 20:42

Me, although DS is here so I won't be totally alone

chocolatemummy · 29/12/2007 20:43

well if DH doesnt come back with dd I may well be, is Jools Holland on? he normally has a great night of live music which goes down well with some wine?

TLV · 29/12/2007 20:46

ahhhh breaths a sigh of relief, am pleased its not just me (sorry) a mate invited me to hers but we'd had a few to drink and now she seems to have forgotten it hey ho, suppose I will have a couple to drink

Don't get me started - have had huge argument with exdh about this today, yes, I will be in with ds (6) on NYE! I don't really mind, what I do mind is that he was trying to palm ds off on to MY parents (his have both passed away) so he could go out, but we agreed in October that he would ds on NYE) yet he didn't even have the courtesy to send my mum a birthday card for her 70th this year! Bloomin' cheek...

Catnkids · 29/12/2007 20:47

Me (with my kids asleep upstairs), and I'm not looking forward to it. The thought of another year still getting divorced and being on my own is sooooo depressing

TLV · 29/12/2007 20:48

eek I would try to make him stick to the arrangement!

pirategirl · 29/12/2007 20:49

me with dd asleep. No sitter, so no choice. tbh I am feeling very hermit like anyway these days.

Parsleypants · 29/12/2007 20:49

I know I should but I can't face the fight, do you know what I mean??

LittleSleighBellasRinging · 29/12/2007 20:53

I will be.

I've been invited out for the first time in about 4 years I think, but I find myself not really wanting to. It involves driving miles to drop the kids off to get babysat, then staying up late, drinking, having a hangover next day, driving more the next day... etc. etc.

When I thought about it, I realised that actually, going out for NYE is not so worth the effort and I'd rather not. I'm a miserable ole gimmer, aren't I? I just can't be arsed.

Alambil · 29/12/2007 21:41

I will be alone too - thinking of getting a bottle of plonk (or two) in and some choccies

Nightynight · 29/12/2007 21:53

I think I will be out at our town's firework display all being well.

TLV · 29/12/2007 21:57

mmm now thinking of ordering myself chinese or indian takeaway slobbing with a bottle of vino thinking of the poor sods queueing for drinks and trying not to think of dh the git

OP posts:
Janos · 29/12/2007 22:24

I'm gonna watch the fireworks from my bedroom window...just hope they don't wake up DS. Although it would cool to watch them together

Scramble · 29/12/2007 22:32

I will be working, exH is my boss so he will be somewhere nearby, not my first choice for a kiss after the bells this year. I will find a nice handsome copper or something.

Magdeltwinkle · 29/12/2007 22:44

Was gonna start a thread but guess someone beat me to it. I could go out but not fair to leave DD (13) on her own. So we will stay in and see in 2008 together. May go for a drink to a nice wine bar earlier. Perhaps we should all log on around 12 and wish us all a happy new year. So we wont feel so isolated. Anyone up for it?

Janos · 29/12/2007 22:48

I think that sounds like a great idea and if I'm still up I will certainly join in!

DS is 3 and very lively so I may be worn out by then..

ATortIsForLifeNotJustChristmas · 29/12/2007 22:50

I will be alone too.
Well, will have my 4 DC with me! We have fun on NYE all staying up until midnight.
I don't know if DD1 or DD2 will make it but we have crackers and party poppers ready to let off at midnight.
DS1 and DS2 are looking forward to it.

Scramble · 29/12/2007 22:52

My DD and DS will be at granny's, DD has just told me she is going to have champagne . I will be going to PIL for dinner on New Years day once I get up. ExH says he is going too damm .

citylover · 29/12/2007 23:01

Might be on our own me and two DCs - or depending on the weather might go to our local 'hill' from where we should be able to be see the fireworks on the Thames.

In which case we will be with DS2's friend and his mum and dad. I also thought of asking another single mum alone but her youngest is not that old so she might not want to bring him out in the cold.

Either way have a a bottle of pink champagne to drink.

Just like to get it over with really and find all the recorded crap on telly very depressing - eg Jonathan Ross and Hootenany.

But actually was never very good when with H either so try not to have high expectations.

ChorusLineMistletoeAndWine · 29/12/2007 23:18

I work in the local pub and volunteered in January (sad i know) to work as it feels like i'm out as such - although when everyone is kissing at twleve i may hide out back!

My sister has DS at her house so I can get a bit of a lie in....

Paddlechick666 · 30/12/2007 13:52

me, again, 3rd yr running and can't believe i'm still in the same situ!

will be seeing divorce lawyer first thing in the new year.

asked h a week ago if he had plans, he said not. asked him to babysit and he hedged. pushed him to commit given that he said he'd not got plans and he said "i might want to go to the pub".

well so might feckin i!!

finally told me he couldn't yesterday - tosser.

anyways, i've got a ready meal and a bottle of cava and a few chocs and i taped Mr & Mrs Smith last night so will watch that. very much doubt i'll be awake at midnight tho!

nutcracker · 30/12/2007 13:55

Well I was going out with younger brother and his GF but they are now ill.

Now my elder brother and his gf have jst rung and said they will come over.

Call me ungrateful but I was kinda looking forward to doing nothing, just watching tv, mning etc, wasn't even planning on staying up until 12.

Now I will have the kids around me until god knows what time, and they will be noisy as brothers gf gets them wound up and I will have to buy nibbles etc which I can't afford.
