I will be, I even asked seperated dh to spend it with me and he flatly refused (how stupid am I?) should i just make it like any other night and ignore the fact that probably the first 8mths of 2008 are going to be rather shite and just get pissssed

Must say I'm glad last night is over with. The feelings of isolation, loneliness and what's-the-point were overwhelming as the midnight hour got closer (possibly my feelings were magnified because my almost-exH was out partying with his gf). It was hard to hide my tears from my eldest who had stayed up to bring in the New Year with me. We lay in my bed watching Take That on the telly and brought in the New Year there. Feeling much more like me again today now that it's all over. Hoping I won't be feeling so bad next year.

I haven't got NY resolutions, I have a 'get' list.
In 2008 I need to get:

  • a divorce (it's still rumbling on a year from when it started)
  • a new job (cos I hate my current one and not enough money)
  • some security in this house or in another one (that belongs to us and not him)

Hoping 2008 brings us all what we wish for, we deserve a fabulous year!!!

Happy Hogmany ladies!
I know what those bad times are like, and how heavy they weigh at this time of year. If your not in a good place then the count down can be negative. BUT time moves on, and if you will forgive some tw*t spinning out homilies it does a fair bit of healing on its way.
Good luck to you all, here's hoping that the new year sees you happier healthier, and wealthier!

All this from somene who spent it in with ds and was in bed by 11pm. Mind you I HAVE SUffered today after a couple of glasse of wine before then

Catnkids - you should have been with me; my friend made me write down three wishes and put the paper in my right shoe. After midnight, we burnt them in a tin with a candle flame. Apparently, they'll come true - now comes the weird part: my paper with "a wonderful man" floated out of the tin and my friend says (not having read it), "don't know if you'll get that one" - very spooky !

Catnkids · 02/01/2008 22:09

1066 - wish I had been with you!!!

Your thing sounds a good idea and what happened was very spooky!!! I've lost count of the 'wishes' I've made and the main one is simply to be happy but it never comes true...

Hope your wish comes true!!! Wouldn't that be fantastic for 2008!

Wouldn't it just? Not holding my breath - going to enjoy what I've got but will definitely let you know if the miracle happens so you can get those papers ready for next year.
