Yes, barking, woofing, growling and full-scale howling at the moon, your parents! I knew this would be your thread, too!

Yes, had a good time away - there was much family hoo-hah, as is usual with DPs parents, so believe me I recognise a barking parent when I see one! MIL tried to pass me off as the woman DP married 8 years ago, despite the fact that I am twice as tall, half as wide, and have different coloured hair and am a different nationality.! (because of the shame of divorce - she would get on well with your mum!)

Where is your key saga?

MyTwopenceworth · 17/08/2007 11:04

She stalks you on Mumsnet????

Start a thread about your wild sex adventures with strangers!

Marina · 17/08/2007 11:05

blu! Interesting times as usual on the old homestead I see
Good to see you back and still standing

Blu · 17/08/2007 11:05

LOL at MTPW tact!

Blu · 17/08/2007 11:09

It wasn't half as bad as the previous encounters, Marina - more amusing this time. But very dysfunctional. I took to rummaging in the fridge each morning and then leaving the house with all the thrice-re-heated leftovers and flinging them in the bin on the way to the beah, or feeding them to the local wild dogs. This was after i threw some old bread into the box where she collects scraps for the dogs and she retrieved it and tried to make a sandwich for DS with it. I tactfully interfered so she made toast for herself with it.

FIL called me a name which is nothing like mine for the whole of the first week.

Yes, your parents may be wing-nuts, PC, but they are not alone.....

Dropdeadfred · 17/08/2007 11:10

yuk blu - that is gross!

bigknickersbigknockers · 17/08/2007 11:14

I see your parents havent improved
Hope your enjoying your freedom. Dropdeadfred has the right response IMO, leave them in no doubt that its the LAST thing you want.

Tortington · 17/08/2007 11:15

i have no idea why you tolerate them. i now its difficult - but do they actually think of you? ever?

Pinkchampagne · 17/08/2007 11:15

Oh my life, Blu!! Think your MIL needs introducing to my mother - they would get on very well!

I will do a search for my key thread & bump it for you because it was under the chat section. Another classic from my mother!!

MTPW - she did stalk me under my old name, but I have changed my name since then!
She did it two days after I told her my marriage was over.
Dad went away & she sat there bored, and rather than come & see if I needed any help with the children, she did a little search of my MN name & found something she didn't like!!

Jesus PC - she's a oddball!! Sounds very controlling....what about your dad is he as bad? Could you have a quiet word with him?

Pinkchampagne · 17/08/2007 11:18

Bumped the key thread for you, Blu!

Oh dad is no better, DDF!

I am the eternal optimist where talking reasonably is concerned...but having followed PCs threads fro a couple of years now, i would have to agree that he is no better. And actually, often sounds worse.

Of to find the key thread - thank you!

MyMILisDoloresUmbridge · 17/08/2007 11:30

There are times when I am glad that my Mum and MIL are totally computer-illiterate!

Blu · 17/08/2007 11:51

Am taking rescue remedy after reading key thread....how can you possibly ask if you are well known for your barking parents?!!!

Although I do remember reading a post from Countessdracula once saying that they had been for dinner with her ILs and her FIL had offered as the main means of entertainment a lengthy home movie of the septic tank being installed.

Pinkchampagne · 17/08/2007 12:36

lol! How funny!

Marina - he moves his wedding ring onto his little finger when he goes out, but then puts it back onto his ring finger after. I don't know what that's all about, maybe it is to keep my parents happy.

Blu · 17/08/2007 12:54

"maybe it is to keep my parents happy."

You could be right, there. And to guilt-trip you, remind you that as far as he is concerned you are still 'his'.

How do you know he moves it to his little finger? maybe he doesn't usually wear it at all, just when he ses you and your M&D!

Pinkchampagne · 17/08/2007 13:16

When he comes round to see the boys after one of his visits to the pub, i notice that the ring is always on his little finger, but the next time I see him it is back on his ring finger.
Don't know why he doesn't just take it off like I did months back! I'm sure there is some little plan behind it

at wedding ring on his little finger after a pub trip! and he is hoping to get back together with you??

Pinkchampagne · 17/08/2007 22:46

Not quite sure what he is playing at there. Don't know why he still wears the ring at all, unless it is to impress my parents, but the whole swapping fingers for visits to the pub is just odd...just take the ring off altogether!!

Mum and dad are in such a bizarre state of denial, that I'm sure they love the fact he is still wearing his ring.
I am the bad one!
