I think women do better without a bloke around, really. And sex really hasn't got anything to do with whether a relationship is worth the hassle in the long run. Personally, I function better if I don't have relationship 'issues' clouding my judgement. Plus, I'm fundamentally too selfish to be any good in a couple

I agree completely, MrsWho. I don't much like the person I become when I meet someone I'm interested in! I lose all sense of myself.

Yes if the man's a good one. Sex is amazing with my bf was non existent with dh. We have the same sense of humour and I love him. Lots in common, he's good to me and I to him. Also have a lot of respect.

cons...if he comes to live with me I'll need to adjust as been alone for 4 months and like it.

ditto Mojosmum would love a baby but not bothered about having a bloke around

a) pays for stuff (unless it's a dud one)
b) sex on tap
c) when you get serious you can use as a babysitter
d) holidays are cheaper
e) they do some cleaning, I should bloody well hope.

UCM - really doesnt make me think i need a man those reasons dont make me even consider changing my mind i think that if its just me & dd then i cant be let down there are no arguments no waiting to be upset nothing bad that comes with a man

I would not advise anyone to use a babysitter who they were not sure of. Sorry.

I certainly wouldn't leave either of my children with someone I had just met, however well he seemed to be.

Well if anyone wants contact details for my ex, I'm sure he would oblige...knocked me up fairly readily then behaved like a prick till I got the message and ditched him.

So I have the baby and am still single...it's bloody hard though - even if it would have been much worse with that particular bloke around, I like to think there are some who it would be fun/useful to share kids with...

Just to add I already have a 4yo...

When I was single I wanted a boyfriend.

Now I have a boyfriend I wish I'd stayed single.

Much easier to be a single parent than to be a single parent who has to juggle yet one more thing (ime)

surferosa- sounds a bit like my ex!! All was ok until I got pregnant, then couldnt see him for dust!
15 weeks pregnant now and counting....one of his friends reckons "he will come round in time" ...well i dont know if i want him to now after his actions!!!

i hope you lot are joking about just wanting a baby. that's a sure way to put any new bloke off, tell him you just want a baby then your a lone parent all over again with an extra child in tow!!

i am really happy with my bf,i think there are more pros than cons,definately.it's just nice to be someone other than T's mummy all the time to be an adult and do adult things & talk adult talk!!
