Gym?
Read?
Go for a run?
Visit a friend
Swim and sauna?
Catch up on e mails?

BrothelSprouts · 17/06/2007 14:39

charliecat · 17/06/2007 14:39

charliecat when my dds dad has her which is very rare i never know what to do either

charliecat · 17/06/2007 14:51

I guess its because it not the norm, I am used to having a 6 year old and a 9 year old round my feet.
Im glad dd2 has been at a school for a while because this quietness would be WEIRD if I was used to having a preschooler about all the time.
I cant seem to budge my backside out of this seat in front of the computer now

my dd is 6 & i find it hard when shes at her dads i dont trust him with her dont know why hes never done anything wrong when he has bothered to have her but i tend to spend alday thinking about her when really i should be relaxing & enjoying my time alone
i have friend who i one see in the week & on weekend s they do family things with there other half so its only me & dd or just me on a weekend if shes at her dads i find it quite lonely sometimes

squidette · 17/06/2007 14:57

most of the first year i cried
second year i bought a sewing machine and started to sew again - clothes, cushions. I also becgan to garden, read, go on loooong walks, began to look at my life a bit.
third year i started to study for a post graduate diploma, got an allotment, re-created my life.
Just about coming into the fourth year, i am now considering going on a date, as i have learnt to love being on my own. Ironic, but true for me at the mo.

There is so much you can do, and now you will have time for YOU! Yum to strawberry picking though

CuttingCod · 17/06/2007 14:57

ccharlie go out fgs

charliecat · 17/06/2007 14:59

Yeah, dont wanna impose on other people doing the family thing, I have gave xp a list of dos and dont.
No smoking in car.
No taking back lanes - Main roads only.
Dont leave then with ANYONE, so no shower. (Ive managed not to leave them with anyone up to this point so I dont feel that he should be leaving them with his landlady while he bugeers off for a shower.)
and ...oh what was the last thing. Oh yes.
Dont leave them near dogs. Last time he took them out dd2 came back with a tooth mark from a fecking dog hed left her with.
FGS. And the weirdly owner of the dog.
Take the child WITH YOU its not hard.
Oh Oh...rant lol

Kaloo20 · 17/06/2007 15:04

having time is so strange as a Mum I also get very bored. Sunday is such a family day.

If I could afford to do something time would pass quicker, instead I am

working out finances to get us through the next month.
doing my personal filing
using my remote access into work catching up on things I was too busy to achieve during the week
reclaiming my bank charges (a very profitable exercise)

I feel
isolated
alone
desperate to 'share' with someone
old
tired
unmotivated
like crying

mojosmum · 17/06/2007 15:06

squidette think i need toget myself sorted like you have youve really given me the drive to move forward & get on with my life im always conplaining ive got no me time well thats cos i dont use it

mojosmum · 17/06/2007 15:13

charliecat · 17/06/2007 15:13

Force yourself to get on your bike. Eye up all the fellow male cyclists.

What about going to the cinema? Get there a bit late so you go in when it's really dark so you don't feel conspicious sitting on your own.

mojosmum · 17/06/2007 15:15

sorry changing the subject but my dads ebay name is compo

charliecat · 17/06/2007 15:16

Good one compo. Im going to write a list and stick it next to the puter for when im sitting here with nothing to do.
xp has just rang and asked why i went strawberry picking on my own...before i had the chance to answer he said fancy one of the picker do you?.
Pick you OWN feckwit.

Kaloo20 · 17/06/2007 15:17

I will force myself right now, and believe me I will feel incredibly self concious cycling on my own. I can't believe how being a lone parent (in the middle of a grim divorce) can be so soul destroying and zap all self esteem.

Ladies, I am doing this for all us, not because I want to
