I have just had to practically carry Ds all the way home whilst he sobbed 'i want my daddy'

why can he not see what he is doing to them ?

fwiw he has started having the kids overnight when he has nothing else on and his gf isn't busy, once every two weeks or so but I never know in advance when he will have them, he phones me up a day before.

He does pay some maintenance now too now he is back in work.

Also its worth remembering that a lot of these men will have girlfriends that are young and childless and will sometimes stand in the way of a fathers relationship with thier children by making it difficult for them. ex gf is now 19 and is exactly like this.. she just dosen't have a clue about kids and thier emotional needs.

It would be just as naive to ask you why you brought children into two relationships when neither of them lasted. No one can tell the future.
