H is away on a course in April, and I explained this to the estate agent that phoned me this afternoon.
She said "Well does he need to be around?"
I told her that I couldn't just move on my own, when things had to be divided etc.

He is away the week they wanted me to move!

Well, he could pack his stuff up before he leaves for the course, and get it stored or moved, couldn't he? Anyway, presumably he can be sorted by 14th May?

Yes, I guess he could, but I just had a flip at the very thought of moving next Friday, not having packed anything yet & him being away on top of everything!
Think May will be better - I like to have a little bit of warning!

Themessyone · 03/04/2007 23:28

I will start sorting anyway, but need a tiny bit more time!
Removal company come round next week to give me a price for the move.

Blu · 03/04/2007 23:30

No, no, you can't move next week, with or without H on a course! Would be a nightmare trying to sort all the utilities, with bank hols and everything. (although you can do most of that online, I think.

Themessyone · 03/04/2007 23:33

If I had had a tiny bit more notice I may have been able to do it, but to be told yesterday before I had even signed any contracts, that my buyers would like to move next Friday, was just a bit too much!
I think they are away after next Friday & this is why they were saying they either want next Friday or after 14th May.

I agree - it gives me a little more time to sort everything.
DS1 is being very pro daddy atm, which is probably because he is feeling upset about the whole split.

I guess, floating. I have been getting myself pretty upset at the thought of turning my boys world upside down though.

I know it's for the best long term, but it is still just the hardest part of all this atm.

MIL has just phoned up to say that she has some pots for H's new flat, bless her!
She asked me how I was & then went on to say how she had bought the boys Easter eggs!
She seems to be taking it all a lot better than my parents did, but then I guess she has been through it herself with H's dad.
Wish he had told her sooner though.

Have since had loads of pressure from our buyers to be out next Friday!
Told agents there was no way I could manage this & they have since come back with either the 2nd or 3rd of May, so it looks like I will be moving at the very beginning of May!
Feeling suddenly very overwhelmed by everything & quite teary.

tribpot · 05/04/2007 20:38

ooh messsy, that's my intended completion date too. Race you to the finish line!

Themessyone · 06/04/2007 10:02

Wo, we could be moving on the same day?!
I bet you're a lot more organised than I am atm though!

OP posts:
Themessyone · 06/04/2007 10:03

Should have said "Wow" but I missed a key!

OP posts:
tribpot · 06/04/2007 13:36

Ha ha to the idea of me being organised, I am looking at the state of my house - let's put it this way, your H would most definitely not approve.

However, have had a very productive day so far, just put up my latest assortment of random crp on Freecycle so will hope to offload all that over the weekend. Hurrah for decluttering! I so admire people who have tidy homes with a place for everything and everything in its place. We just seem to have so much stuff*. Last time we moved it was paid for by work and with a 4 month old baby I was just too tired to care that there was loads and loads of rubbish. This time I have to pay so sod that for a game of soldiers!

Themessyone · 06/04/2007 18:37

I'm trying desperately to de-clutter too, tribpot - it's a nightmare isn't it?!

tribpot · 06/04/2007 19:20

My main problem is convincing dh he doesn't need to hold to things like faxes from 1993. Apparently they have 'sentimental value'. Gimme a break!

Themessyone · 06/04/2007 21:14

LOL! Dispose of them when he's not looking, tribpot!
