Obviously a lone parent and on those days where your child does something amazing and you have no one to say 'look what he did!'
Well, my DS who is 3 in a few weeks has a speech delay and today he said a whole sentence!!! I was so proud of him.
Unfortunately he yelled 'oh my god, cake!' at the sight of a birthday cake in a shop, but it was a sentence!! Will work on the rest!

Wow, that is truly fab.

My ds had speech delay and I would have been beyond thrilled to hear that from him at 3. (now he really doesn't ever shut up though )

I also dealt with it all alone so I really get the wanting to share thing.

That's fab to hear whirly, it's been a long wait to hear him saying something other than the odd grunt or getting his sister to speak for him. The supermarket staff looked rather startled at how excited I got and then got tearful! My DD who is 6 was so embarrassed.

Vonnie I heard of these cake smash things for children. I never really understood them, but could you perhaps do one for your DS for his birthday, not professional or anything, just to remember that wonderful moment?

I am also a lone parent and had a moment last night I wanted to share but couldn't. I was reading DS (3.2) his bedtime story and when he turned the page for me I thanked him and he said 'no problem' like it was a completely normal thing for him to say. I laughed so hard that my DD (4.9) actually looked up from playing with her my little ponies which takes some doing :)

I hope I remember that forever. I love the little things that kids come out with. Oh my god cake is a classic

Ah ground that is lovely! I love it when they say really grown up things. A cake smash is an amazing idea, would have to do it on a large table cloth cause let's face it, don't want to waste any! He has been chatting a lot this week. He was having a little tantrum at bedtime so I sat at the top of the stairs and told him he had to go to bed now. So he rolled his eyes at me, turned round walked into his room shut the door. Next minute he opens it again peers through the crack and whispered 'GOODBYE...FOREVER!' I nearly fell down the stairs! He loves a bit of melodrama!
