There seems to be a £140 voucher available for eligible parties, towards payment of your winter fuel bill.

Wotsitsareafterme · 07/10/2014 18:50

I can't get my head around this I have an under 5 and am alone parent do I qualify?

bloodyteenagers · 07/10/2014 19:03

Depends on your income. If it's under 16,010 and you are getting wtc or ct then yes.

Depending on your energy company, it isn't just open to lp's. Just google your supplier and warm home.

ShadowsShadowsEverywhere · 07/10/2014 20:12

Bear in mind the above link is just for EON. If you google "Warm Home Discount" and the name of your energy supplier you should get the relevant info as I've just had a quick look and all energy suppliers have an info page on this. The gov info page states that if you have pre payment meters you can still apply for this, they will send you vouchers that can be used to top up meter. This is like a lifeline to me as I've been running and rerunning the sums and just couldn't see how I'd be able to heat the house all winter. We are on PP meters and they are just so expensive. Thanks for the link OP.

justjuanmorebeer · 07/10/2014 21:56

StercusAccidit · 08/10/2014 18:40

HerrenaHarridan · 15/10/2014 16:49

I already have this but keeping it bumped.

AnyoneForTARDIS · 16/10/2014 19:36

I applied and got it, yet I still watch how much heating I use!

Darquesse · 16/10/2014 19:47

Thanks, I think I will qualify for this. I have applied.

SpuffySummers · 16/10/2014 19:50

Bumping, my voucher for it arrived this morning

Homepride1 · 20/10/2014 22:49

Am I right in thinking you can't get this if you are on WTC?

jacks365 · 21/10/2014 07:53

wtc doesn't exclude you from claiming the warm home discount for my supplier but the criteria are set by the supplier so you'd need to check yours.

Prosopopeia · 21/10/2014 10:25

Spuffy do you remember approximately how long it took for our voucher to arrive from application?

Your voucher, rather.

Sadly looks like I don't qualify with my supplier (southern electric) because I get wtc, Shame I thought it would be one rule across the board

thoughtsbecomethings · 21/10/2014 22:23

Yet again have missed out on this

Simile · 31/10/2014 10:16

According to MoneySavingExpert eligibility varies from supplier to supplier so worth having a look at other suppliers and switch. The suppliers that participate in the scheme are:

Atlantic, British Gas, Co-operative Energy, EDF Energy, E.ON, Equipower (Ebico), Equigas (Ebico), First Utility, Manweb (Scottish Power), M&S Energy, Npower, Sainsbury's Energy, Scottish Gas (British Gas), Scottish Hydro, ScottishPower, Southern Electric, SSE, SWALEC, Utility Warehouse.

moomoo1967 · 31/10/2014 14:12

Thank you I have applied :)

FTS123 · 31/10/2014 14:50

Fab! Just switched to Eon, with a hopeful saving of £275 a year, PLUS they do the warm home discount, which my old supplier didn't - thankyou x

meglet · 01/11/2014 16:00

bumping...

HereBeHubbubs · 19/11/2014 14:26

My vouches arrived today. £12 for electric and £140 for gas, both to be taken to the post office and credited to my pre payment meter cards.

What I'm wondering is, will it then take that whole payment to pay off my debt on the meter, or actually leave me with £140 in credit on the screen Hmm

Anyway. I feel very grateful. This makes a huge difference for the next couple of months.

moomoo1967 · 21/11/2014 22:09

I received a letter today saying ' We recently wrote to you to advise you that you are eligible for a £140 credit' errrmmm no you didn't I TOLD you. I am with NPower and it went on to say it would be credited by March 2015

Starlightbright1 · 22/11/2014 09:36

I applied with EDF last night . I applied for the child tax credit one although there was a working tax credit one too.. I wasn't sure which to pick.
