Clos Maggiore, but only if could get a table in the conservatory. Food and venue both stunning, esp the tasting menu

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 29/11/2021 16:32

If I ever get back to London, I really would very much like to try Mere.

sleepwhenidie · 29/11/2021 16:40

If you like fine dining I’d go for a Michelin * somewhere like the Berkeley for lunch. Otherwise Roka, or Scully.

Immaculatemisconception · 29/11/2021 16:43

Le Gavroche. We've been and I'd go again definitely.

gogohm · 29/11/2021 16:56

I wouldn't spend that much, there's so many options for half that and I would the spend the rest on cocktails and/or wine bar

Tootiefruitie66 · 29/11/2021 20:38

Thanks all.

River Cafe

NeedAHoliday2021 · 29/11/2021 20:47

Wouldn’t cost that much but you’d have money over for drinks, I liked the Duck and Waffle.

MrsSkylerWhite · 29/11/2021 20:48

The Connaught dining room (can’t remember what it’s called).

yetmorewaiting · 29/11/2021 20:49

Hawksmoor if you're a carnivore!

KatherineJaneway · 29/11/2021 20:55

The Frog, but that would be without any drinks

Tootiefruitie66 · 29/11/2021 21:00

Out of interest do any of these have a lovely view or are there any great places anyone can recommend with a view? Thanks again 🙂

The duck & waffle has amazing views, as does the restaurant at the shangri la / shard. Sushi samba is in the same tower as duck & waffle with equally amazing views.

DillonPanthersTexas · 29/11/2021 21:05

Garfunkel's

Usuallyhappycamper · 29/11/2021 21:06

If spending a vast amount on one meal I would want flavour over being challenged with our there flavours or fashion. Le Gavroche would be my choice. I don't drink though.

Gold in Notting hill. I really enjoy it.
City social is usually a good shout.

Titsywoo · 29/11/2021 21:08

Scully St James
The Ritz Restaurant
Jean Georges at The Connaught (with a stop in their bar too)
The Grill at The Dorchester
Oxo Tower Restaurant (not the brasserie)

anothername007 · 29/11/2021 21:11

Also like Gold. Kerridges.

Not to hijack the thread, but where would you recommend? I’ve been really disappointed with ‘nice’ meals in London. Fantastic cheap eats are ten a penny, but I visit London a few times a year and have massively failed to find anywhere good for a night out.

Generally I’m in the Chiswick, Kew, Richmond-type area if that helps....
