Should we find out if Auntie's venue is available and on which dates and then go from there?

Probably a good idea - Auntie's venue sounded ideal.

Don't mind ringing up to check, what was the name of hotel again?

I just spoke to the hotel who seemed very nice. She said upstairs room recently refurbished, we can pre-order canapes and drinks. Any other drinks can be ordered downstairs at the bar on the night. Room can be available from 8-11pm. BUT they only have a few dates left in Dec see below.
She said we need to book ASAP this week or rm may not be available

She's sending me food list later so we can select.

Shall we go for it?

If so can you state your preference please so we can book most popular date by end of this week.

Sfx - room hire is free as Aunty said. If we want food they will only serve canapes upstairs which we do need to pre-order but can pay for on the night. I now have menu and will post here after we have selected a date.

When we spoke this morning the lady was more concerned that we need to pick a date fast! I think maybe we should confirm date with venue say by end of Weds.

vbus you are right - we actually need to book before 6pm on Wednesday because from 6-8pm there is a showcase where they will be giving away free drinks and canapes as a taster for their Christmas menu. I think lots of ppl will book after the event

Does anyone want to go to the tasting showcase? I have an invitation I could pop thru a door 2morrow or you can collect from my house on the night from DH. I may be able to get there too, but maybe 6pm too early for me

I have a copy of the Christmas menus and there are at least 4 to choose from, so lots of choice food/price wise and good value, the £19.50 one looks delish

vbus I think you should just choose a date and book ASAP (I can't do 18th hint hint)

I think if the quality is known we should just book
paddle and 2cute are probables too so we are making up the numbers they asked for dates

I spoke to them this morning and sadly 5th is no longer available so have provisionally booked 4th dec, is that ok for everyone?

She will hold booking for 7 days and it seems we do have to pay £10 deposit per head within 7days to secure the booking which gets deducted from the final bill on the night.

She sent me through another xmas package different from yesterday (I guess this is the one they're launching tom night). Auntie I have now seen xmas menu but as we're upstairs we can only have the canapes as they won't serve full meals upstairs but they sound nice too.

Do we want to go ahead? maybe we can discuss further tom when some of us meet up.

and what is the deal with just having a meal in the main area?
