the 11 or 13 march would suit me either ce or mh is just as easy xx

JenL · 07/03/2009 16:10

The 13th would suit me better, if that's OK...DD is having her jabs on the 10th and is usually out of sorts for 24 hours...I'm fine with either Muswell Hill or Crouch End. xx

elkiedee · 09/03/2009 19:09

Ok, so if we go for Friday 13 March, JenL, bumpsparkle, me, anyone else? Where and what time? Last year the Maynard pub, Park Road, Crouch End, on weekdays at 12 seemed to do well for mums and babies - pub meals. My previous cafe haunts in Crouch End seem to have disappeared, and the Crocodile cafe in Muswell Hill is probably better in warmer weather, as the buggy accessible seating is outside though under cover, but I'm open to suggestions from anyone who's hung out in the area with their baby more recently than me.

bumpsparkle · 11/03/2009 20:47

i won't be able to make the 13th have to pop into work to tie up some loose ends, but would still love to meet you all whenever you decide to meet up again have a lovely weekend xxx

elkiedee · 11/03/2009 23:51

Can anyone else make it, or shall we try for 20 March? Or I might be able to do Tuesday 17th next week - can't do 18th or 19th. The other thing is that I was thinking of venturing up to Muswell Hill to the NCT baby group on Tuesday at 3 pm anyway, at CUFOS, if anyone else is interested in venturing out to that.

poppy08 · 12/03/2009 10:51

I can do tomorrow and the pub sounds nice, but the 20th is just as good if better for everyone else. I will also love to join you for the NCT group on Tuesday.

JenL · 12/03/2009 12:12

I might give tomorrow a miss but would love to come on Tuesday. Elkiedee, do you know f you have to be a member of the NCT in order to attend?

elkiedee · 12/03/2009 13:32

poppy, I can still meet tomorrow if you like.

Jen (and Poppy), no, I don't think so. There is an entry fee which was £1.50 a year ago, I will try and email one or two of the coordinators to check the details for you.

poppy08 · 12/03/2009 17:17

Was just told that the grandparents are coming for a visit tomorrow, but still up for Tuesday.

elkiedee · 16/03/2009 12:17

Here are the details of the Tuesday afternoon group: will check in later/tomorrow morning to confirm whether I or anyone else plans to make it there.

Separately, is anyone still interested in meeting on Friday?

poppy08 · 16/03/2009 23:14

tomorrow is good for me. If you're (or any of you)going would you like to meet there or in CE?

elkiedee · 17/03/2009 11:15

Poppy, sorry not to get back to you sooner, probably meeting there is easiest! I was thinking in terms of leaving home between about 12.30 to 1 pm and going into the centre of Muswell Hill first, and wandering round a little, perhaps rummaging in some charity shops, then walking from there. But if you know how to get there on foot from Crouch End, I can do that too. You're welcome to email my yahoo account which is (myusername) @ yahoo dot co dot uk

Hope to see you later

elkiedee · 17/03/2009 11:18

Sorry, didn't actually put in the link to the group.

poppy08 · 17/03/2009 11:50

I always said I'll attempt walking up Muswell Hill, but not ready for it yet, so probably best to meet there.
Are prams convenient or should I carry Neeve on me?

elkiedee · 17/03/2009 12:08

My memory is that the space used is quite big and that taking a pram/buggy was no particular problem. But The Avenue isn't actually the centre of Muswell Hill either, I'm about to look at a map to remind myself how to walk there, probably from the centre of MH.

elkiedee · 17/03/2009 12:19

Looking at a map, from the centre of Muswell Hill it's down Dukes Avenue. It's very near Alexandra Palace, the building, so the other side of the park from Crouch End. Going straight from home I'd probably go via Wood Green rather than via Crouch End. The building is marked "Comm Centre" on the map linked to below.

poppy08 · 17/03/2009 12:30

I think I'm going to take the W7 there but might walk back.

Hi Girls, just found your thread ..Elkiedee congratulations on Baby Connor! a lovely christmas pressie, JGP and others - I'm due end June beg July and would love to meet up for a pregnancy gossip. I'm joining park rd aqua classes from Jan and have joined a Yoga in pregnancy class monday day if anyone fancies coming along in tuffnell park www.activebirthcentre.com/ (its meant to be amazing. I'm in Highgate but quite near the tube so very near crouchy and would love to meet some local mums or mums to be.

Marianish · 13/02/2010 08:06

Hello ladies,

am 23 weeks pregnant (due in June) and would love to meet other mums-to-be around N8 for decaff-coffees and cakes (or other healthy food).

It's my first child, am very excited about it but also there are also lots of changes coming up e.g house hunting.

I was looking everywhere for classes or meet-ups for other mums-to-be in Crouchie. I found that there was lots for mums who just had their baby e.g. Campsbourne Centre, Hornsey Vale community centre.

Luckily someone has pointed me to this forum.
But am now a bit confused which days you're meeting up.

Is there a meeting going on 6th March in Starbucks? Is there one before? (am fairly flexible with my working hours)

Hello Everyone!
I've just given birth (last week !!)to our little boy, Leonardo, 'Leo' and I'm now a Crouch End Mama!

I went to the Park Rd antenatal classes during the very last weeks of my pregnancy and it was great - the teacher is actually a doula herself, so do ask lots of questions about labour, because she's very happy to help!

I'm totally in love with TARA at Yoga Junction, her antenatal yoga on Friday mornings was Fantastic and really helped my prepare and survive a 21hr drug-free natural labour. I owe her alot!

I don't know any mums in Crouch End since we just moved here, but I'd LOVE to meet up with anyone for coffee or walks in the park - I think I'm going to need alot of outdoors time since it can get a bit lonely being at home every day, even though Leo is the absolute love of my life....

Can't wait to get together and start swapping nappy horror stories!

Al

Marianish · 19/02/2010 11:51

Congratulations Almac! I like the name Leo very much!

Almac - I noticed after writing to this thread that previous discussions and possible meet-up took place a year ago.... silly me!

Crouch is great for mums - go to the Campsbourne centre, Hornsey Vale community centre, all the baby shops have notice boards, check out the YMCA, the Halean Centre for yoga classes, active birth centre in Archway
check out NCT in Crouchie and Stroud Green
and hang about in Priory Park playground / cafe

Meeting mums should be much easier in Crouchie than meeting other pregnant women!

Though if anyone pregnant is ready this now... I spoke to teh Campsbourne and they were thinking about setting something up for us! So watch the space

Hello- I hope I'm not barging into this thread univited- I don't know what the etiquette ison these sites!

Husband and I live in the Hornsey/ Crouch End area and are expecting baby number 1 in July- I don't know anyone in the area and my non-pregnant friends are queuing up to tell me that my life is over, so it would be really nice to meet some local mummies!
