There's a giant tree house in Anwick castle so you can have afternoon tea up the tree!! The castle is where they filmed parts of the first Harry Potter films. It's on the way to Edinburgh. (sp?)
York's nice too. I have not been anywhere else to suggest. Ireland? Paris?

Tree house is so cool. It's a cafe, open fire on the inside, fantastic afternoon tea, a pot of tea, cakes and a few sarnies. There's nothing else in Anwick besides the castle and the grounds though. It's a shame. We stayed at the hotel round by the castle, there was a lovely little Italian restauraunt over the road.

It's near Friargate, next to the church that was a noodle place, bottom of Saddler Gate. It's the tapas resturant. Can do somewhere else, I don't really mind.
