I missed out on the last one, didnt see the thread just wondered if anyone fancied going for a cup of coffee somewhere or finding somewhere nice to take the kids.... I dont know if jump would be suitable, ds loves it there and I think they have a special room for children with sn which riven's dd might like. Its got lots of stimulating/sensory things etc and im sure the other kids would love the soft play. here is the link so you can see the prices, opening time, map etc. If anyones interested it would be great to catch up. Havnt seen any of you since I had dd, shes 3 months old now but i still look pg

cool, when, where etc?

I have lectures at 2 but reckon i might be able to fit coffee in before that!

needmorecoffee · 14/10/2008 17:20

we have left over cake too

LittleMyDancingWithTheDevil · 14/10/2008 18:27

And having met riven and her lovely DD, I can confirm that she isn't a hairy handed trucker.

I was hoping for at least one hairy handed trucker, but all three lovely ladies were lovely!

thank you for hospitality riven, sorry for being so late

needmorecoffee · 14/10/2008 18:32

there were hairy handed truckers outside and a whole range of muscly builders.
Sheesh, i go to all that trouble....

RhinestoneCowghoul · 14/10/2008 18:34

Thanks for hosting riven - great to see everyone else too

LittleMyDancingWithTheDevil · 14/10/2008 18:44

the only builder I saw close up on the way out had a beer belly the size of an eight month pregnant lady and had a puppy locked in his car

I expect the muscly ones were doing the actual work

ilovemydog · 14/10/2008 19:18

hate truckers

TheArmadillo · 14/10/2008 20:16

had a lovely time, but have just managed to get home from Riven's and put ds to bed.

Left and got bus straight away and then as we were going pass the new school a girl shot out on her bike - the brakes had failed and she went straight under the bus

The screaming will stay with me a long time I think. I hope she is ok - I don't know how badly she was injured. There was at least 10 other adults dealing with her so I kept out the way as had ds.

By about 6pm we went to ILs cos hadn't managed to get another bus. SIL ran us home on her way home adn we have just got back.

LittleMyDancingWithTheDevil · 14/10/2008 20:23

oh Armadillo how awful! are you ok? where was this?

I saw you walking when I left (had to change DS' nappy first) and nearly offered you a lift but there was nowhere to stop. Wish I had now

TheArmadillo · 14/10/2008 20:24

I'm a bit shaken - ds is fine. We were fine, meant we got to see SIL when she was down.

LittleMyDancingWithTheDevil · 14/10/2008 20:28

Was it near Redland Green, is that the new school you mean?

RhinestoneCowghoul · 14/10/2008 20:31

Sorry to hear that Armadillo, how scary

OsmosisBOOnana · 14/10/2008 20:37

How horrendous...

TheArmadillo · 14/10/2008 20:39

no two schools have just combined in staple hill/kingswood. About one stop one from where we started. It was a primary school and she only looked about 8 or 9.

She couldn't stop (brakes failed) and I think panicked - the bus driver couldn't stop in time.

I'm hoping the screaming meant that she wasn't too badly hurt.

LittleMyDancingWithTheDevil · 14/10/2008 20:51

How awful - I really hope she was ok.

If it was her screaming, that is a good sign - a friend of mine is a paramedic and he says they're always told to check the silent people first in a crash scene.

If people are screaming then they're breathing, which is a positive sign.

TheArmadillo · 14/10/2008 20:57

yeah that was what dp keeps saying.

Nice to meet you btw. Am sorry my ds was being a bit of a pain. He's usually good to younger kids and nice to them.

PussinJimmyWhoooos · 14/10/2008 21:06

will have to do a meet up at my place when I'm back in Bristol - have a new garden that is just asking to be used!

TheArmadillo · 14/10/2008 21:09

how you doing puss?

Is that the garden you were trying to get work done on a few months ago?

PussinJimmyWhoooos · 14/10/2008 21:13

DH is extending his stay

on a happier note, the garden is all done and child friendly so

TheArmadillo · 14/10/2008 21:22

you must be missing him like mad, how's ds dealing with it?

LittleMyDancingWithTheDevil · 14/10/2008 21:26

no worries Armadillo, kids are kids

Puss - where are you if you're not in Bristol?

PussinJimmyWhoooos · 14/10/2008 21:26

Funnily enough - DS has not asked for him...not once! Can you believe that?

PussinJimmyWhoooos · 14/10/2008 21:27

Dancing - at my mum's house in Plymouth. Have been signed off by the doctor for next two weeks so no point being in bristol on my tod!

TheArmadillo · 14/10/2008 21:35

littlemy - thanks, he usually is an angel honest, but I get stressed and he takes that as a cue to mess about.

Puss - I found when ds was that age he just accepted whoever was there without question (as long as he knew them) and didn't really think about anyone who wasn't there.

LittleMyDancingWithTheDevil · 14/10/2008 21:37

Yep, DS is the same. Becomes a nightmare when I'm feeling most uncomfortable.

Puss - will definitely have to meet up when you're back!
